As mounted, wire #1 is far Right, and gets the Ground meter wire, clipped to a sharp pin, pressed in from top. Center wire on TPS is the output from the potentiometer, connected to another sharp pin, stuck in from the top, and needs to read 0.5 Volts DC with key on, engine not running. Wide Open Throttle will read 4.50 Volts DC. From factory, the two screws were set, and could be changed out for M5x8mm screws, about $0.39 each, at Ace Hardware stores. Wire on far right is the 5 Volt supplied power.

Clean your TB.

To a certain point, it’s normal. Because of the added load on your engine (your power steering pump), the computer commands the RPMs to increase to make up for it. Although It doesn’t happen seamlessly, normally it’s barely noticeable. Your attention to detail in this case is working against you. It does the same with other loads such as when the A/C kicks in.

I put a new idle valve in mine but no change

Guys I need help. Idle is at 1500 rpm, tps is new and at 0.5v, IACV cleaned as well. Tested for vacuum leak but no success.

@@AzanAli- 1500 is pretty normal when the engine is cold on a 4 cylinder. If it’s 1500 when it’s warm then maybe you have a problem. Check the throttle cable and see if it’s too taunt and keep the throttle open.

@@robbym3542 It's at 1500rpm when hot. Throttle cable is not tight. No codes. IACV is cleaned. No vacuum leaks, I tested with carb cleaner.

Is it that small set screw on the back side of the throttle body?

Not too sure on the speed sensor or if it had one. There isn't an adjustment screw on this generation. To adjust the idle, you will need to move the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) forwards or backward. To do this, you will need to remove the tamper proof bolt and replace it with one that can be loosened and tightened. Good luck.

On the wires right at the TPS plug. Search "Honda TPS adjustment". Cheers!

Hi, did you fix your issue, I have the same problem, when I move the steering wheel the rpm goes up.

Mine too and if you idle in park or neutral too long it starts surging. (brand new OEM idle control valve, coolant system bleed, new radiator cap, vacuum check just like this video. Check engine light is on for idle being too high. I think I will try the TPS reposition trick.

there is an idle adjustment. There is a set screw with a 7mm locknut. If looking at the throttle body from above facing the passenger side of the engine it is at about 4 o clock. I had the P0507 code (sustained high idle speed) and also some idle surge. After replacing the idle control valve twice (cheap and then OEM), the map sensor the mass airflow sensor, radiator cap (which was bad), did the battery disconnect over night and idle learn procedure and still got high idle and a surge. My TPS was at .5 volts at idle, 4.47 at full throttle before any adjustments (but its not regulated so it changes depending on how long you have the key on. To adjust the idle set screw, you have to pop the lock nut loose with a 7mm socket, the set screw uses a 3mm Allen (or 2.5, cant remember 100%). Remove the socket from the ratchet and use the socket to hold the nut while you move the allen screw in the middle, then retighten the lock nut. I moved mine 1/4 turn and that's too much. The warm idle went down from 12-1500 to 5-700. No surging. Its tricky because when cold it is at 1000 - 1200. But this is too low, it can stall when warm. The sweet spot is in the middle some where for me, maybe 1/8 turn. I think you can use the TPS to more accurately move it. . . . (update, for sure 100% you need to use the TPS voltage to make the adjustment. If you have a 4 digit volt meter it would take all of the guess work out of it because you are working in 1000ths of a volt changes to dial it in.) car has never run better now. The transmission actually downshifts for you now instead of feeling like it wants to charge forward all the time. I bet I increase the brake pad life now too.

After cleaning the iacv the car has high idle, you need to completely resetting the ecu by removing the battery negative cable and turn on the highlights to clear the ecu, that should fix the high idle rpm. This cause me a great deal of work and time to figure out this simple fix. P..s do not mess with the tps. It does not help. I.tinkered the tps and replaced the tps and it did not help.

@@DMT815 i also have same issue and i have same engine accord cl7 i have, and I'm fed up it's is not fix since 5 months.. I changed the throttle body multiple times but didn't fixed. When i rotate the TPS and set the voltage at 0.10volt the rpm was absolutely good at 600 rev.. But. It seems engine not too smooth at idle.

@@rangersforrebellion1758 Clean the throttle body or iac whatever but it’s an easy fix to reset idle rpm. Do not adjust the tps or change it. I had tried everything. All you need to do is remove the negative battery cable and turn on the headlights to completely clear the ecu. You must turn on the highlights!

@@DMT815 Are you saying to just turn the knob for the headlights with the battery disconnected. I have the same issue as the guy in the video rolling idle. how long should i leave the negative terminal off while the headlight knob is turned?

@@aidanjacobson2070 That’s right! Turn the headlights on with battery cable disconnected for a minute to few minutes to drain the remaining charges to completely clear reset the ecu. Connect everything back , of course, then you should be able to have the ecu re- learn the rpm process again. Keep doing the process again whenever you like.

I think you generally said it to about 900 to 1,000 RPM with everything at peace and then when you turn on things it should go up automatically. that is to say when the car is just idling naturally without any loads on it 900 to 1,000 is pretty much the norm.

700- 750 rpm when warmed up... My TSX sits around 720 rpm I beleive the specs are 700 rpm 750 rpm w/ ac
