In Australia this car is worth $40k , that's 20 lakhs. It is ridiculous. India should really stop taxing so much on imported cars. Especially a car which doesn't pollute much

@@sushilb2008 No..it's somewhere close to 21 lakhs..and in the US the base Variant starts with 16 lakhs and goes up to 22-23 lakhs and this is most efficient Honda till date

Danishkhan basharat ali wrong guess bro.. Showrooms would be craving to have one but unfortunately there are Not many stocks for customers itself due to over booking and as they are all imported cbu's the supply of Accord the global winner is a big challenge for honda india I believe..

Gotta love the difference of standards between the US and Indian automotive industry. This thing is something that kids get as a first car over here. But it is quite luxurious nonetheless, and India is steadily catching up. Can't wait to see what Indian domestic companies come up with to compete with these foreign mid-size sedans!

I have driven Camry, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata,elantra, Chevy, accord, kia alot in rental cars... Accord is the best sedan among all these I drove till now. Finally bought Accord sport. Happy with my purchase

mb the boss for that, they need new factories, equipments and employees.... what about that expenses? thats why they import. do you think honda's mad enough to put such high price? afterall its hybrid and thats some expensive tech 😂😂😂

I would rather spend my buck on this efficient and practical product rather than spending on some German entry level luxury sedan that is sold more on it's name and fame in the market. Nice product by Honda and if fuel economy figures are as promised by the company, this definitely would be my pick

RoNN Motorhead see in a diesel dominated country like ours ..Honda's CR-V civic and the Accord still persists only due to raw power and the sheer driving pleasure of the gasoline engine units ... but the hybrid only introduction really kills the Accord from a drivers point ... only a very few go for hybrid vehicles ... atleast Honda sudve introduced a raw version ... if so it ll be my pick

When I heard that the new Accord will come with an expensive price tag, I thought the price would range somewhat between 24-28 lakhs (or maximum Rs. 30 lakhs). But I was in a state of shock when I realised the actual price of the sedan ! Rs. 40 lakhs for a Honda Accord !? Like really ?!! Sorry Honda, if one's budget is Rs. 40 lakhs or more, then he/she will opt for a Mercedes C-Class/ Audi A4 or a BMW 3 Series... Everyone will go for German luxury brand instead of paying such an hefty amount on a Honda !!!!

Saravana Kumar I agree davesh .. it's the global 1. 4 TSI from the VW ... but it's rather tuned to produce produce more power and torque exactly as the Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI variant.. The engine alone is really a balanced performance and efficiency ...but u are extremely ryr ..if this engine is mated to an Audi a 4 ..a car of that price .. everything becomes real crap. infact the losers cudve planted the 1.8 TSI...

Pranav Kadambi you seems to have a lot of knowledge about Honda and their cars. keep it with you and don't spit stupidity. Honda being a Japanese manufacturer doesn't mean all their cars are made in japan. FYI, all the parts are exported to america from japan and china for the final production which adds up to the cost.

The first model of Accord was a masterpiece.. no other newer versions were able to keep that same masculine look.. Companies should understand how to keep the masterpiece designs as it is.. like The Enfield Bike. I am sure if the designs were similiar to the first one then the sales would have been shot up.

Works well as a tech demonstrator but considering that the engine doesn't power the wheels and only the battery I was expecting more in terms of fuel efficiency, like close to 30kmpl atleast.

in china this car cost 200,000 yuan. which is equivalent to 20lakhs rupees. .but its selling at 45lakhs in india.To beat delhi pollution,govt should tax less on hybrid cars.

yes you are correct .. see accord is a hybrid so combined power is 215 .. it doest mean that we getting flat 215 horses out of it .. the 2 ltr patrol of accord pumps out 143hp while skoda with a 1.8ltr turbo produces 180ps at much lower rev of 5000-6000 rpm along with 320/250 nm torque .. Moreover in accord hybrid we can derive power from a single engine at a time .. so in real life the superb be the best performer ... u jst see how the superb tsi beats the equally 215hp powerd camey in acceleration.. However this accord is not a performance car .. atleat it sud had as performance non hybrid variant too

That, my friends, is where the whole concept of image raises the ugly part of its head. Hondas are perceived to be efficient affordable cars. if this tech is in an Audi or Merc, they'll plant it northwards of 55 and no one bats an eyelid. But Honda does it and all say it's worthless.

If you only use it for weekend then mileage is not important. People forget 1 lakh for maintaining mercedes or bmw annually. Accord is very practical, it can be used as daily driver and luxury both.
