How do you keep the cams in place and not damage any valves?

Do you add gasket maker to the o ring on the water pump? Or only use the factory o ring

Only use the factory o-ring. If you want to keep it in place while you install it. Spray the o-ring with spray adhesive that you can pick up at any hardware store or craft store. Let it get tacky for about 1 minute and then put it onto the WP and you will be good.

Hi, would I have to go through all the steps like adjust timing to just replace the water pump?

+ravy kann yes you have to take off the timing belt to remove and replace the water pump on a Honda V6. There is no adjustment, tension to the belt is done automatically, the timing belt tensioner sets the adjustment automatically.

My car is 2000 Honda Accord EX Coupe is making like a scratching noise on passenger side smoke started coming out of glove box and it smelled like plastic them all warning lights came on but car didn't overheat

+Jovette Cook that's an electrical problem. You have to get that looked at by a professional. It's never good when you have smoke coming into the car. Have that looked at right away.
