Honda lent me a CBR650F for TWO WHOLE DAYS!
Lets see how it fares, also compared to the Yamaha XJ6 FA (aka FZ6R in the US).

I just got the bike and in my opinion, it's more advanced than a beginner bike. it's fast, but not scary/crazy fast to the point the front lifts. the bike pulls to the point where you should lean or you'll feel pulled back. overall, I love my new machine

Just a heads up for anyone who's still unaware... Honda's have been manufactured in Thailand since 2012. Japanese design is still used but it's cheaper to produce in Thailand. These are still beautiful bikes and would recommend for everyone thinking of their first 600+

Nice and interesting test ride as usual CagerOnTwoWheels! Looking forward the part 2. Btw, I read in a magazine that the CB(R) 500 & 650 are all built in Thailand.

i was thinking of getting one of these but with everyone complaining about the terrible vibrations in the bike and the low quality of the bike i think ill either go for a xj6 yamaha or a ninja650 .the honda is made in thailand so that explains the low build quality .

I had a 14 cbr 650 f that I put 10k on commuting with some canyons. It was a very fun and comfortable bike, especialy for the price. It is defintly at the sportier version of its 650 brethren (ninjas and XJ's). And the brakes are the reason I took it to work on the 405 everyday: those things kept me alive. But I do find myself wanting a more refigned machine for daily riding as I continue to advance as a rider. BUT THAT IS THE CONUNDRUM. Even though it might seem high for its price point, this bike is very rewarding for a returning intermediate, daily commuter, or advancing beginner.. BTW made in Tailand Edit: ok the 18 list prices are rediculous. (Plus I got mine w/o abs: anologs an backins 4 liv:)g!)

Take note Cager, CB500F CB500R CB500X CB650F CB650R CRF250L and possibly many other honda's are built in Thailand. I think only the high end honda's are built in Japan like the VFR,CB600RR and other's

+ripmax333 That is correct. 250's, 300's, 500's, and 650's all made in Thailand now at a factory on Ranong outside Bangkok. I've been to the factory. My house mate looked at me like I was crazy when I told him his CBR250 was made in Thailand. "No way man! It's Japanese!" He was crestfallen when I showed him the "Made in Thialand" sticker on his bike. I think he wanted to sell it after that. lol

Joe Diver tell your friend that it's not such a bad thing, after all it's still under honda management and it's still a honda. parts can get cheaper to get as-well, plus they are still reliable. made in thailand is a way to get them cheap from dealerships.

My next bike will have a dual filament headlight bulb. U.S. laws are strict. You must have a working headlight at all times. At least you could get to a place to get a new bulb, without getting pulled over by the police. if you have one filament working.

Thanks for your review! I have a few (maybe silly) questions: 1.) In which gear do you drive around the city at 50 km/h? 2.) I read in a magazine that the idle of the motor automatically increases, when you let go of the clutch. So theoretically one could switch to 6th gear while standing still, let go of the clutch and it would not stall the engine. Ist that true? It is kinda hard to believe that. 3.) I guess for the speed test from 0-100 km/h you don't need to switch to second gear?

Hey CagerOnTwoWheels. I'm currently considering getting myself a first proper big bike and I'm going back and forth between this CBR650F and its naked sibling CB650F. Anything that sets the two apart other than the fairing and seating position that you can tell me about to make my decision easier?

Hi, i would like to ask you something when taking corners i cant decide to Steering or Countersteering; and after 2 years i just use my body to turn because im afraid of falling the opposide way. that just drags my corner speed away. the curve is between Steering and Countersteering how can i be sure ? its 1 way go and 1 way come and no overtaking lane. (drivers are overtaking all the fucking time.) I have got shitty tires for 2 years if i lean more than 15-20 degrees,i'll definitely kiss asphalt.

The honda is smother at high revs (because its an inline 4 instead of a twin) and slightly higher top speed. Less torque at low speed in comparison. Acceleration is about the same. The Honda weighs more and costs more. Full fairing with windshield means less buffeting on highway. I like both but I bought the FZ07 because of intangible emotional reasons. Your mileage may vary.

+WolfPackHD at age 20 only 48hp, if rider had the A2 license for atleast 2 years (age 22) they can earliest get the full bike license (A). meaning for 2 years they get used to be bike and power and what not, when they get the full license they drive to honda dealership/mechanics flash the ecu and tadaaaa ~90hp :) this bike can sell to three different riders 1: those that took A2 license and will never get A license 2: those who really want this bike (on A2)and then flash the ecu when they get A license 3: those already with A license who wants a nice sport tourer with "enough" power i just cant stand the split gauges and single headlamp on this model :p

@babayega1717
@babayega1717 8 жыл бұрын
+Juan Carlos Perezchaho I bought the bike 4 weeks ago. The sittig position is exactly what i believe you would want. It is not as agressive as on the super sport bikes, it is rather far more relaxed and upright, it puts almost no pressure on your back. I am also a fairly new rider, and i feel that i have made a great choice with the bike. Also all the things he showed as "bad built quality" are not present on my bike, it might be because he is riding a demonstrator (bike particularly for test rides) and had been "worned out" a little by other test riders.

+Jasmin Chauhan 650F is more of a long ride, twisty, fun bike and the 600RR is a track ready weapon. The more R's, the sportier and the more aggressive you're posture and the more aggressive the torque curve is. Fs for Honda is kind of their label for sport, not to be confused with super sport. Xs are adventure bikes. Basically, the closer to RR, the racier, further away, the less sporty. Xs are a league on their own unless it's Yamaha, then it could be a cruiser or a neo-retro sport. Get it? Got it? Good.

@Lusitano429
@Lusitano429 9 жыл бұрын
@TheHeyRod1
@TheHeyRod1 9 жыл бұрын
