Yep. I own a 2008 CBR1000RR...and it is the first bike where I don't seek to get something "better" because Honda nailed it with this one...it does everything so well on the street and the powerplant is perfect. It is the last of the true "analog" Superbikes.

FYI - Reason I have low miles is because not only have I had two motorcycles for nearly the last 3 years but I've spent nearly most of my free time over the last two years modifying the Bug Out Van (took a TON of time), running a Business, Less riding in Ohio winters, and even helping to care for a sick relative. Do all of that and see how much time you have left to ride. I sneak out and ride whenever I can, a couple hours here and there every week between both bikes. However, it's the quality of miles NOT the quantity. Just like with women, the more you are apart the fonder the heart is.

My neighbor had one. It scared the piss out of him. He would not even pull it into his garage, he asked me to do it. Of course, being a biker, I started out by saying "I will put it in your garage for a half hour of saddle time". He agreed. Next time I asked for an hour, then two, then three....etc. He basically let me have it until it sold. He got the shit scared out of himself on the way home from the dealership four miles away and never got on it again. It was brand spanking new. He was not a biker. He had no idea. I let that perfect bike stretch it's legs a bit. I loved the handling and lack of surprises. This bike does exactly what you ask of it and has more than you want. On Sunday nights I would set the alarm clock for 1am, I would then put on my leathers and go as fast as possible across Mobile Bay and back at least six times, then go back to bed. My Wife knows I am nuts.

Just wanted to shoot a quick thank you. after alot of research, I brought home an 07 cbr600rr yesterday, just in time to put it in the garage until march :( Your videos really helped make me with my decision and I'm sure I'll be very happy with my purchase. Be safe, and keep up the great work.

Cool out brother,who cares what most other folks say.You do exactly what I do or it seems so.I research what I want and pick the bike that meets my requirements,most do not.I started on dirt bikes in the early 70's and because of an injury I sustained in 2011 I have dead spots in my legs.I went from dirt to cruisers stayed there and researched every one.The reason I settled on my 06 Suzuki Boulevard M50 was because and foremost it had forward controls my legs can handle,Plus liquid cooling,shaft drive and fuel injection.Most haters and folks that talk nonsense have a fist full of wishes in one hand and the other fist is loaded with crap.I enjoy all your videos especially the ones on gear and my armor and most other safety safety gear I wear all year long I found on your links and I do not care if I roast in the summer,I am safe and live to ride another day so thankyou for your advice,peace.

I love my blade it is very comfortable, I agree it is more power than any normal street rider needs unless you go to the track and race in competition. Never have I missed having rider aids,only my ABS. Only thing I don't like is carrying a passenger but even then it's not too bad.

I have two bikes and often ride the WR250r more because I love dual sporting and hooliganism more than straight street riding. However, I have a home business that delegates my riding to only 1-2 days a week, unfortunately. If I had it my way I would ride all day every day.

Hey cc, I love your videos man, I ride an old school cbr 929rr. Had it since 2014 and has 27k miles. Great bike but I'm ready to upgrade and I've been looking at the 08/ 09 cbr1000rr. I do to payments and I've seen them going between 6-8k. What to u think of that bike? Is it worth it? Or should I try to find a '10-'12 left over in a dealer ship and put down like 5-6k and make payments

Honda bikes are real reliable . i have a 2001 honda cbr600 F4i with 60,000 miles and the only issue i have is 2nd and 3rd gear pop out. im guessing from clutchless shifting. what sucks on the F4i is that the head has to come off to split the crank case to fix the transmission. as for the engine it doeant burn any oil between oil changes at 3,000 miles... i use the rotella T6... i only boke down once due to my regulator/rectifier which was my own fault. i relocated it and it wasn't getting any airflow.

I agree! They have the best quality control in the business, they are so detail oriented it's unbelievable. There is a video of how they run their factory and how strict they are. The workers have to wear white lab coats and if their lab coat gets so much as a smudge they do a full investigation. They don't play.

Nice Bike indeed. If I were to buy a Sport Bike that would be it. Speaking of an oil view window I had one on a Yamaha 1100 Silverado. It did not have a center stand so to level the Bike to see the window you have to hold it. The window was low and you have to get down low to see it and dangerously apt to drop the Bike. I reverted to sitting astride and used a lighted mirror with a telescoping handle to check the oil.
@ChrisJohn_444
@ChrisJohn_444 7 жыл бұрын
Oh ya, that bike's hella quick, for sure. ANY litre bike is almost too much for street riding. With respect to rider aids, ABS already saved my life, when a car ran a red light, and quick shifter is a pretty awesome feature. But, wheelie control I don't really care for. I'm pretty sure traction control will save me from a low-side at some point. They're nice to have, but not necessary to have all kinds of fun. And, you can always get an aftermarket ecu that'll give you better tunes, quick shifting and traction control, if you still want it.
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 7 жыл бұрын
I would have got ABS on this bike had it not added 26 lbs! I see the new 2017 cbr1000rr SP has ABS and the bike is super light, lighter than my bike.
@ChrisJohn_444
@ChrisJohn_444 7 жыл бұрын
Ya, that weight discrepancy seems a little fishy to me because on most bikes ABS only adds about 5 lbs....I mean, I don't think it added that much weight, just that the non-abs model was slightly heavier than advertised. I'm feeling the 2017 1000RR more now because my RSV4 is at least 30 lbs heavier than my GSXR 750. The rider aids on the RSV4 are nice, and track go-ers and reviewers swear by them because of how well they inspire confidence in corners, but I miss the 'easy' feel of light-weight. Heavier bikes not only require more muscle/weight-shifting, but also more preparation on corner-approach.

I agree with you on the rider aids. I wouldn't give a crap about those either. If you need rider aids, you need to learn how to ride. LOL! I have always been a "seat of the pants" rider. I agree about Honda too. If you love your bike that much, you should keep it. I think it's hard to find a bike that you really like that much without having any gripes.

I'll say it again. Hard to beat a Honda. Sure there are are faster bikes (H2) But IMO the CBR600 is almost too fast for the streets so the CBR1000 makes sense to me, change the oil and go for a Ride! Wheels are sick CC

The only thing that has kept me from Honda is the lack of ABS. I feel like I need that now lol. I can't believe you hate the dip stick man. It seems 1000x easier than balancing a 400+lb bike and bending to check a window. Just my 2 cents.

Marc Wolinsky because when I have been in in emergency situations personally I have just grabbed brakes and not paid attention to applying smooth pressure. I have locked up a non-ABS bike and recovered multiple times and personally would rather have that extra layer of safety.
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 7 жыл бұрын
The window is more straight forward unlike the dipstick which can be deceptive sometimes. You still have to balance the bike when using the dipstick. You will have a false reading if you leave the bike on it's stand when checking the oil.

Is it something you could comfortable take all day trips on? I just started riding this year and it's a ninja 650, I'm planning on riding it for at least another year, but still looking around at other bikes in the future. Any super/hypersport bikes that you'd say are comfortable enough to do long road trips with?

Neither. Get a CB500R to ride for a little while. Then move up. However if you wanna make miles, you should go for a tourer or something else. Even CC says his other bike is more fun to ride.

Go get on em!!! I am new as far as I don't own a bike yet, but have been riding for years. I test rode the R6, and liked it. The CBR had a ton of stuff the R6 didn't, like ABS and other technological advances. But I encourage you to go try them out.

Hey CycleCruza, what's the website you ordered your custom plastics from?
@africanhistory
@africanhistory 7 жыл бұрын
Speaking of Adam (a pro) and yes crashing happens when you push bikes (part of pro riding). Not one of them knock electronic rider aids. He did not come out of that crash and complain did he? Now CC has not ridden anything with ERA but speaks the most about it. UNTIL next year when he gets a bike with ERA and then he will be CC-ERA are the bomb. I do not know also how you could have an opinion about Liter bikes if you have only ridden ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously now!
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 7 жыл бұрын
Like I said, regular joe street riders do not need electronic rider aides. For riders that rely on electronic rider aides may push the bike harder thinking it will save their butt.
@africanhistory
@africanhistory 7 жыл бұрын
I think It might save our butt when it is raining out also. I personally would never complain about ABS, or traction control. And to quote you "anything that keeps you safer on the streets is a plus"
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 7 жыл бұрын
AHS Society I wasn't referring to ABS, ABS is a great safety feature but I've seen a few rider crash with traction control thinking it was going to save their butt. Traction control is all in your throttle hand and using common sense when street riding.

What about the Suzuki GSX-R1300 or Hyabusa?You seem to like fast crotch rockets.Is the Hyabusa to much for you,after all if your going to do it do it right.I'm not a speed demon and never was,the biggest I would go is maybe a Honda 1100 Sabre because that bike has about the same power as my 2006 Suzuki VZ800.By the way my M50 is just as long and wide as most bigger Harley Davidsons without the weight.That is my 2 cents worth bro,but as I've said many times before ride what makes you happy.Peace.

@kristiangurholt59
@kristiangurholt59 7 жыл бұрын
Like he said in the video, he would not recommend it as first bike because of the power. I mean this bike is faster than 99% of all vehicles on the road... so in the wrong hands it will kill. The brakes are very strong too and not forgiving like on a smaller single disc bike, and as a new rider chances are you will drop it at least once especially if you havent ridden other bikes, it'll mess up the bike and lower the resell value. Get a used cheap bike as a first bike, then get whatever you want. Take me for example, I dropped two bikes at my riding shool because I wasn't familiar with the weight and feel of the bikes and I made some beginner mistakes because of that. Soon after when I bought my first bike, I'd already learned how to avoid those mistakes.

Sad thing about the superbikes is that all the mods you do to them are worth more than the bike itself after a few years...
@CycleCruza
@CycleCruza 7 жыл бұрын
Actually, my bike used is selling for what I paid for it on cycletrader $9,000! Try finding a 2012 CBR1000rr for less than $8k used with 5k miles or less. The few mods I put on it are less than $1,500. Btw, the Repsol wheels I only paid $1k for and can sell them for the same price or more anytime as they are not easy to come by.
@UFGgamings
@UFGgamings 7 жыл бұрын
US Market is cazy then! In Europe you will get about half your money's worth for it. Talking about same model and 2012 model. New price was €16.500 and ones with reasonable low milage go for about €9000. (Not as low as I thought, but still) I thought the exhaust, fearings, satnav and other small mods would be worth more than 500$, especially those camera's, unless you plan on taking everything off of course. You still got a crazy good deal for that bike though, I would have bought it for that money too. For some reason it seems to hold it's value way better than most other super sports. Yamaha's R1 2012 (€18.500) sells for 7k with akrapovic and other mods. Why you guys can pick up bikes that cheaply is still a mistery to me. 9k is about 8500 euro for a new bike. I mean wtf, we pay 2.5 that for the same bike?
