I've Had mamy bikes (GSX600F, CBR600, GS500, Bandit 600, VFR750) and I've always admired technology and specs of that bike, and always considered it as "someday in the future, that would be nice". But I was always afraid of it's size and weight (although bikes I've ridden were not that much lighter). And recently my friend asked me to collect one that he bought for himself. So I Had a chance to test ride it , and OMG. What a machine. You twist your wrist, blink, and you are already breaking all speed limits. But what is even more impressive, you can't feel that weight at all. It is so nimble, you can throw it from left to right like a bicycle. Long story short, my Virago 535 project is going for parts, and I am getting my XX in few days. With the market prices as they are,best bike for value.

For us Americans... 0 to 62mph in 3.2 sec 0 to 124mph in 9.1 sec 0 to 155mph in 17.2 sec Top speed of 175.2 mph Whoa..... All GPS measured!

Yeah buddy! Nothing to be ashamed of, especially considering they were last imported into the US back in 2003. I rode with a guy that top speed tested his 2018 Kawasaki ZX14R with slip-ons and stock gearing. He was about180-185 pounds suited. It wouldn't go any faster than a GPS indicated 183. I was there when he did it. Thought they were "limited" to 186 ( 300 KPH) but he ran out of gearing. Considering they have 45 more hp. and a considerable amount more torque, the old XX can still stand proud!

Interesting to see how far the speedo is out. Had mine up to indicated 170MPH but it was still gaining. Recon around 160 or so.

One of my dreams bikes in the past. Well done. Just out of curiosity, would you reckon it's not a good idea to choose a blackbird or hayabusa if my riding experiences are like: been riding a hornet 900 for a bit more than a year and I normally ride only on weekends where there's minimal traffic. I only have ridden a few supersport bikes occasionally but never owned one of them. When I was on learner's and provisional license I used to ride small capacity sportsbikes.

it's not a big problem to ride these bikes. They are heavier than a super sport bike, but also for me with 1,72m and 60kg it's possible.

Keep riding your Hornet 900, from 0-100 it´s faster than this piece of steel. These bikes are not worth it (im a CBR 1100XX driver expert) These bikes are made only for highway, out of there they are crap and useless.

@@mototop_ My 1999 Hornet 600 does the 0-100 kmh in 2,7 seconds, more faster than the CBR 1100XX. Check internet and you will see it... But after 100 the cbr 1100 its faster... Think that the Hornet 600 it´s only 176kg...

I was riding my cbr 1000rr last weekend 290kmh by speedo and gps recorded it as 270kmh and I believe more for GPS. The faster you ride the more offset speedo has.

thanks bro :) it's 299 only at the speedo, but it shows more than you actually drive. 282 is per GPS, it's more accurate.

Uff ... that's going fast man. Now I ask you: Is it normal so much difference registered between the gps and what the motorcycle dashboard shows? Who do we have to believe?

GPS is more correct. only about +-1km/h error. By european law it's not allowed that the speedo shows less than you actually drive. that's why the manufactueres let it show more. and at those high speeds you also have a lot of slip at the rear wheel.

Ses accélérations sont franches et en full power elle accélère très fort jusqu'à plus de 285 km/h et finit sa poussée dès 312 km/h . Le 0-100 km/h est couvert en 2,3 s et le 0-200 est couvert en 7,7 s . En 2017, elle est encore régulièrement classée au 3e rang des motos de série les plus rapides au monde

Nice nice. Ich fahr selber die XX und finde dass es kaum ein besseres bike gibt. Für das geld bekommt man echt sehr viel. Klar sind andere schneller, es gibt immer einen der schneller is. Darf man fragen wo du her kommst? Und welches GPS System du nutzt? Würde meine gerne mal testen. Hatte sie bei LKM und jetz hat sie ca 170 PS 🤔 Ach ja und immer schön sitzen bleiben. DLzG

ich komme aus der Nähe von München. Ich benutze das GPS der Gopro, das hat schon ne sehr hohe Frequenz. Validiere die Tests dann noch mit nem Qstarz BL-1000GT. Ohja, bei 170PS würde mich auch interessieren was sie so läuft :)

Actually the funny part is after you let off and feel like you have slowed down a bunch and pop up behind the windshield the force of the air is incredible!!! Lol. Then you realize your still going about 180.

Franchement pour un 1100cc en injection ça marche pas si fort. Ma ZX-6R de 99 à carbu fait le 0-200 en autant de temps (mais elle plafonne à 280 compteur). Le soucis est que cette moto est beaucoup trop lourde, elle a 50kg de trop.

@@JustForFunX80la version essayée ici ne fait que 152cv car catalysé, la version d'origine de 96 fait 164cv a carbu et les versions entre 2000 et 2002 sont a injection et font 164cv aussi, mais faut pas ma comparer a une sportive pure c'est une GT, 255kg quand même

How does it pull from 3000 or 3500rpm? What I mean is, is it nice to go touring? Get a Superbike stear and high windshield:)

pulls good enough. But not for its power, because gear ratio is pretty long.

Why does the speedo say 299 but the GPS say 282?

because GPS is more accurate. It is prohibited by law that the speedometer shows less than you actually drive. Therefore, the manufacturers have the speedometer displayed a little more.

There was an agreement between motorcycle manufacturers at that time to "limit" top speed at 300 hm/h. So the speedo display "stops" at 299 hm/h.

You should shift before hitting the rev limiter. Not only is it healthier for the bike, but also quicker.

healthier for the bike? This is a HONDA ;) Have a closer look: And I wanted to have a good time for 0-200, that's why I hit the rev limiter. Because it would have taken me about 0,3s to change from 3rd to 4th gear, so I just stayed in 3rd gear to hit the 200 :)

no, it only has 152hp. A normal street bike can't go faster with that power output. compare it with an older Yamaha R1 with 152hp.

@@mototop_ but the zzr1100 had a top speed of 175mph the cbr1100 took that title off the zzr. My dad has a 1999, first fuel injection blackbird and GPS has him 184mph flat out. This one in the vid is limited to 186mph so why is it not hitting that speed coz they are capable of doing that

@@mooncatt79 the record run of cbr1100xx was without mirrors and the carburetor model. with 152hp engine power it's not possible for such a street bike to hit 186mph as per GPS. A bike from Moto2 class (very small and without mirrors) could reach that speed.

@@mototop_ ahhh ok thanks for that. I believe the 99 model (same as my dad's) made 164bhp. Correct me if I'm wrong. Still a great vid mate. Blackbird is still an awesome bike even by today's standards. Not as quick as the busa but a better all round bike which many people prefer

Mine is faster because it's Lamborghini matt black and has real 165 HP and 124 Nm at the back wheel after the engine was tuned :).

All car & bike speedos are calibrated to read at least 8mph faster than actual road speed, keeps us under road speed limits if you stick to em ... some are worse than other, even today I still here riders claim fantastical speeds they think they've ridden at .... No way to tell if GPS is correct either.

GPS is pretty correct. Normally about +-1km/h

Je teste en conditions réelles. Il ne faut pas toujours croire les informations sur Internet. 2,4 s de 0 à 100 n'est pas possible avec cette moto en standard sur la voie publique.

Je me répète : ne faites pas confiance à Wikipédia ;) Je pourrais aussi y écrire quelque chose qui ne correspond pas à la réalité. Alors s'il vous plaît, montrez-moi des preuves réelles, par exemple une vidéo avec une mesure GPS, Dragy, etc.
