This is episode 6 of PowerDrift’s Signal 2 Signal series, and we’re pitting the Honda City against the Kia Sonet. Now, we’re open to brickbats galore, but we honestly couldn’t wait to see how this panned out! Rohan and Raunak are the usual suspects behind the wheel, and this has all the makings of a memorable shootout! Before you watch the video, try and guess who the winner is and hit up the comments! The international version of the previous version Jazz( the one currently sold in India) makes about 10 bhp more than this current engine. This engine is solely intended for fuel economy alone. Plus the really long gearing slows it down massively.

@@nxp2619 Yes. These 1 litre turbos don't rev anywhere as cleanly as the Honda plus turbocharged cars tend to suffer more from rev hang compared to NA cars.

turbo vs NA is not a valid comparison. turbo engine has 30nm more along with quick shifting DCT gear box. bring similar class NA engines like verna 1.6, VW 1.6. then will understand what iVTEC is.

Not a Honda fan. But It's actually a Honda City win by a 3-0 margin. The second and third run times by the Sonet were slower than the Honda City's first run.

@@praveenbadagi4285 that DCT is still quite slow at the launch and 0-100 times of the City manual are still quicker than the Sonet DCT. I can't help but think all of these might be rigged.

It is actually City who won it both in terms of 0-100 run at 11.73 sec (3rd round) and Quarter Mile at 18.26 sec(2nd round) . And recorded better run times when you consider results of all 3 rounds

The city is very under tired from the showroom, giving it a set of rubber it deserves will surely make huge difference... I have heard the previous gen city can hit 0-100 in 10 ish seconds(with good tyres).

Absolutely love this series!! Just a suggestion if we would be able to see the finish line.. i mean if we can see who manages to cross the finish line first that would be great apart from the timer which stops and blinks as the race finishes. 😊 Great series though keep it up 👍

Yes. That's a very good suggestion. In fact they should have a track time of all the cars. Drive them around a track, film it and show us the time. They used to do it in top gear and I used to love it.

If space and overall comfort is your priority then go for city. If you can compromise a little on space and want latest tech features, new engine, better riding position then go for compact SUV. Try to Test drive Hyundai Creta, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV 300.

As a owner of the 2021 City I am quite disappointed with the City's subsequent losses in this Signal to signal series. Have I made the wrong choice for a performance oriented car?

Absolutely not..Nobody does drag races daily.. This guys dont know how to shift gears quickly.. Specially the guy in the city And comparing Naturally aspirated vs turbo is not fair..turbos are quicker than na..if we do City vs 1.5 vs verna 1.5 vs yaris 1.5 or any other Na engine... There is no chance to win against city Also no car beats City in terms of comfort, reliability,space,vtec power, safety features etc

the sonet is turbo charged, which means after the initial turbo lag, it can squeeze more power at the higher revs. also being a NA engine, the tuning potential of the city is limited. all this can change if someone goes crazy and retro fit a turbo into it. there are a lot of type 2 cities with turbo these days and they can easily built 180+whp

Initially in thought Sonet will win but I was wrong once, but again I was correct twice😇... City is not a good drag racer, but I agree City is a car for comfortable journey to family. It will be in Indian market successfully even after for 20 years from now... Love for City, for the comfort, luxury, reliability, credibility, Safety...
