Put same sprocket size on both bikes. You need to even out the playing field before you say the CR is faster.

For a real "race" let the same person ride each bike one at a time and time them

If the kx has a 51t and cr has a 49t rear sprocket then it’s not going to be a fair race both bikes need to be running same final drive

My first ride on a dirt bike was a old Kawasaki 250 back in the 90s. I was a quad rider and never had a 2 stroke. The first time I hit that power band I was addicted lol. All these years later I still ride a 2 stroke quad ( Polaris 400 scrambler )

the kx sounds good

Ive owned both of these and the same years and the honda was quicker than the kwak. The KX was all bottom and mid but the honda was better right through the rev range. And night and day stronger in terms of build quality. That said, I liked them both

You babied the throttle on the kx at the start. You should’ve for sure been ahead of him when you guys started. That sprocket is smaller so it picks up speed faster but then in the long run the Honda would’ve started catching up. It should’ve been way closer

There must be something wrong with the kx. And you guys do know all 250's and 450's are usually 5 speed right. 5 speeds aren't stupid,.

That KX sounds very tired, I've got a 03 KX 250 that runs great and it sounds NOTHING like the KX in this video. And yes just 1 or 2 tooth difference will definitely change the outcome. I suggest redoing the top end and then race them on a Motocross course and see what the outcome is.

Yes I might be 2-3 years late but I have a choose between these and a ktm sx 250 2t Ktm exc 250 2t Kdx 200 2t Kx 250 2t Cr 250 2t Yz 250 2t Which is the best maintenance wise cheap parts and the strongest to brake. I want it to be a solid bike that is easy to maintain fairly cheap parts and a strong bike thank you in advance

It seems as if the power valve on the kx is stuck open. it has no low end power. And it’s geared very low change the sprocket and fix the power valve and it will fn fly!!!!

I like cr better but put same sprocket on kx and it would be jus as fast if not faster with the fmf pipe

Honda didn't change the engine in the CR250 from 96-02 and Kawasaki kept the KX250 evil from the beginning of production to the end I love both bike's but the Kawasaki KX250 is my favorite by far

i like your vids bro but both bikes are 5 speeds so this 5 vs. 6 is a no go. something wrong with the kawi or your not short shifting it like it wants. you cant scream the gears out on the KX like you can on that year CR. 2 teeth is only about 4 mph on top but the internal ratios are not the same so it may be less.

When I was growing up I had a 95 cr250 with a 48 rear sprocket, reeds and a fatty pipe that ate up kx's. Raced a 97 kx250 with reeds and a 49 sprocket killed it, beat a 01 kx250 with a big bore and reeds dont remember the pipe and a 50 sprocket and an 05 kx250 all stock besides a narly pipe. Never had any kx come close to beating my CR closest race was the 01 kx but still got it by half a bike. Held her wide open and banged the gears never used the clutch and never lost to anything but a 450 4 stroke.

I also thanked you guys are being way bias and kinda want the cr to win cuz you love it and think it’s so good, but don’t want to see it get beaten
