You spent the money on a nice exhaust, you’ll find even greater improvement with the ECU flash. I did it in reverse order, so I had to get my ECU flashed twice. But that’s not a problem with 550 Performance, since they only charge you once, the rest is free, you just pay shipping. Not too many people do it the way that I have, but I intend to try all the different tunes. Even the stock improved was a huge difference. It just offers more linear power through the rev range. It helps manage the power better, if that makes any sense.... After installing the pipe, and air box mod, and tuning to the stage 1, the performance felt like it was doubled to that of the stock improved. I’m 210lb, Front spring upgrade is all I did too. I just had to get rid of that annoying nose dive when riding aggressively. I haven’t bottomed the forks out since I installed it either. I did upgrade the rear shock, because it still has the pogo affect even with a stiffer spring. But, if you’re not riding aggressively, rebound is not an issue. Cool video. Would you happen to have a link to the clutch lever or just tell me where you purchased it from?

The 550 air box lid is out of stock. But as of now I plan on getting their cover and an ECU flash.

@@DontKnowWhatToDoWithMyHandsyou won’t be disappointed. I actually sent them my stock ECU to get flashed, so I only had to pay $160. Which I thought was a sweet deal. Especially since it cost about $400 to upgrade the ECU on the 450l. But, as you probably know,, if you don’t want to be down for 8 days or so, paying the extra to get one straight to you works too. They will refund your deposit as soon as they receive your stock ECU. Thanks for the link!

@@DontKnowWhatToDoWithMyHands if you wanted to, you can go on CRFs only and pick up the air box lid that they offer. It comes with an additional lid, so you don’t have to modify your stock one. In my opinion, it flows just as much air as the 550 lid, possibly more, it’s just not as water resistant as the 550 lis. It comes with 6, 1 inch air box inserts, which only 3 or 4 of them fit in the lid. But you can install the extra ones on the top of your air box if you so choose. I’m familiar with it because it’s the one my buddy purchased. 550 was out of stock when he was looking too.

Are you running any kind of insert in your exhaust? Appreciate that you did some regular old exploring around which shows that it (exhaust) won't be completely obnoxious all the time. Biggest concern is the loud factor as I commute early hours and don't want to be a nuisance.

I have the insert that comes in the exhaust still installed. I took it out once just to hear how it sounded wide open. Stated it up and then put it right back in. WAY louder-but to the point of annoyance in my opinion. I didn’t want that loud of an exhaust as I like to stay out of sight out of mind to a degree. But if you wanted to rip it-just take out the insert and it would RIP.

Sure sounds nice with that exhaust. Did you (or anyone else with the 300L) have any issues with shifting? Everything around 2nd gear for me is not smooth at all. 1st to 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd, etc. I adjusted the clutch cable, gave it time to break in a bit but still issues. Have to open it up and check the clutch springs and stuff.

I’ve had to play with cable adjustment since going to the RSC clutch. But shifting has been fine for me so far 🤞🏼

i love this content ❤ im so glad i found your channel. since you have a Harley and the dual sport what do you think i should get as a first bike (i have experience on dirt bikes and my dad sportster 1200) a 2020 iron 1200 or a new crf300l?

Maaaan…that’s tough. Sportsters (and I have one) are awesome. And I’ve owned a few over the years. But the CRF300 is a blast too. You really have to ask yourself what type of riding you are going to do more of I think. I’m lucky enough to own a few so I have options when picking a bike to ride. If off roading, or trails are an option often-I’d lean towards the 300.
