I have owned a lot of motorcycles over the years and the Honda CRF300L is by far the best.
It is a lot of fun for the price! Great gas milage, low maintenance and extremely dependable.

Enjoy your vids. Got a Rally a few weeks ago. Last time I rode a bike Bush 1 was president. The CRF300 Seems to be bike of choice for older guys that have nowhere to go and all day get there.

Word. I'm 49 and just bought a rally. Haven't ridden in 18 years. I gotta admit that The Deegs and SMX got me back in the saddle. Comes back quick but also my nerves are jumpy now. I need that confidence back!

I had the 300L and absolutely agree with you. I had the WR250R and hated it. No torque and way too tall for only 10" travel front and year. The 300L has great low end torque and a perfectly spaced gear box. The 300L has two things that I loved. A fuel gauge and gear indicator. The front fork has zero stiction and for normal trail riding was perfect. Yes, if you ride it like it's a dirt bike you are going to get into trouble real quick. The 300L is definitely the best "Dual Sport" I have ever owned.

I had a WR250R and loved it. Except you had ring its neck to make any power. It wasn’t a bike to just be lazy on. Again I’m in the market for a small dual sport, and think the 300L would suit me the best with a suspension upgrade.

That's the reason I got it, it is as if honda actually listened to their customers, a "granny low" first gear and a 6th "highway" gear, I did upgrade the tank to a 3.6L acerbis, definitely worth the upgrade.

Your the reason I bought my 2015 250L and I traded it for a street bike a couple years ago. I miss it so bad I'm going to buy a 300L soon. Nothing comes close to the fun factor of this bike

I can almost agree, however, the amazing deals on a Honda 250L still puts in the lead for me. I bought my 250L years ago, changed the suspension, full exhaust, tuner and the 286 stroker kit. I still have less invested in it than a brand new 300l. And while an upgraded 250L will always be heavier, it will be cheaper for a few more years till the used market has inexpensive 300L available. - Frank

Hey! Love your videos!. I see you got rid of the vent tube that runs to the charcoal canister from the cap and just have the short vent coming out. It also looks like you may still have your charcoal canister installed. What was your solution for that? Looking to install the Acerbis tank on my 300L but hate the vent tube look and don't feel like doing the emissions delete. I also feel like I'll have to put bar risers to avoid Barkbusters hitting at full lock or dropping the bike.

On the charcoal canister, I just removed the two small hoses and capped it off on the canister, the short hose with the vent works great. amzn.to/48a8lHy

Good to see you are still enjoying your 300L, and not much has changed on it, there's no need to. I still have my 2021 CRF300L, stock but for your recommendations; hand & engine guards, handlebars, AXP rack, Tusk side bags, Rigg tail and Tank bags, Seat Concepts, and D606/MT21 tires. Still have my 2019 Africa twin, and now a 2024 Transalp. Yes, all Hondas! Of the three of my bikes, the 300L is the one I take "exploring" most often. If, for some reason, a government agency stepped in and said, "you can only have one", then the 300L would be the one. Of course, if I was expatriating to Mexico or Canada, then it might the be a different one! Ride on Woodzman!

Did you ever consider the 250F? Kid around the corner from me has one and I think it was pretty nice. I have a dead stock 2018 Rally in grey close to what the 2024 looks. My only gripe is the speedometer. I wish it was bigger as I am looking at the road or trail in front of me. If I'm on a quiet stretch of road with little to no traffic I find myself constantly trying to maintain the speed limit. It's not lack of power but I find myself slowing unintentionally. Maybe a GPS screen would help.
@WOODZMAN
@WOODZMAN 5 ай бұрын
The 250F would definitely be a fun trail bike for sure. It’s not street legal but in AZ pretty much anything can get tags on it. The GPS is nice to but expensive

I had the 250L and loved it. I changed the rear sprocket to a 49 or 51 tooth and that gave me so much power, but I felt I was too tall and heavy for the bike. I'm 6'5" and 210 lbs, and wonder if the 300l might be the right bike for my next adventure. How much do you and your usual gear weigh?

When I bought my Rally, I wasn’t enthused about the look of it, compared to the standard L model either. I always thought the standard model was a better looking bike, but I bought the Rally for the extra fuel and wind protection, and the space to mount more stuff. Oh, and the Rally comes standard with LED headlights.. But now that I have had it for almost 2 years now, and I’ve done all the mods that I wanted to do to it, the looks have grown on me, and I now think it looks better than the standard L model. Lol... My buddy has the L model so I see them side by side all the time. It’s funny how we grow to like some things in ways we didn’t expect to... I have done a lot to the bike, so in stock form I will still say that the L model still looks better than the Rally,, but it’s not better looking than my Rally! Lol... Also, I think because all the mods made it perform better, that plays a big role in appearance as well. When you get something to the point where you are satisfied, and over joyed by the way it performs, it just naturally looks better too! Lol...
@WOODZMAN

@@WOODZMAN what do you think about adding a heavier spring to your front fork, have you considered doing that? I remember that video you made when your son wiped out in that berm on that track yall were at., I did something very similar on my bike, and I totally blamed it on the front suspension being so weak. Some people spend lots of money on that front suspension with revalving and all that. I don’t think it needs all that to make it better. A $100 spring makes a huge difference. It might not be MX ready, but I’m not MXing.

I’d rather commute on a Rally! After having that wind protection for so long, I’m spoiled. I ride my buddys L model sometimes and i start complaining after about 10min. Lol... I personally would have to put a windshield on the L if I had to use it to commute. But yeah, my Rally tops out at 81mph, so these bikes don’t have any problems cruising along on the interstate at 65-70mph, if you have to do it. I personally wouldn’t want to do it, but you can!

The 300l is a great bike except the cheap budget suspension.. the klx300 is a much better bike for just 500 more far better suspension a bit lower seat hight.. the Honda looks much better though ... if i were to ever get rid of my wr250r i would go with the klx300 over the Honda..thats just my 2cents
