I’m still driving a 2006-2011 Civic 5-sp automatic, it’s 14th year, it had 260,000 km and still going strong w original engine and trans and every sensors on board, changed oils and trans fluid 1-2times per year both together! Why? Coz oils are cheap, over-kill a little for maintenances and do not over-use my car. Only changed all the normal wear and tear parts, absolutely no other crazy electrical or electronics issues at all. The down side for Japanese car is they r too “soft” , if youngsters drive recklessly and get into serious accidents that wouldn’t be good. I hope Honda civic build more like a tank like Volvo!
@texasabbott

@@user-zk1xf4tx1w Other normal things on a 2006-2011 Honda Civic that might need to be replaced before they fail (preventive maintenance): alternator, starter, engine belt, A/C compressor clutch, A/C refrigerant, shocks, sun visor. Be gentle with the driver side door, the latch is made of plastic and could fail after so many times getting slammed. Otherwise, the rest of the car lasts almost forever (I'm at 200,000 miles). Good luck!

Our Civic is now 11 years old with 200,000 km, driven in very cold Manitoba Canada. Aside from regular maintenance, we have had to repair one wheel bearing and had to weld the muffler back on as the clamp rusted. That's it. I would drive that car across the country tomorrow with no fear that it would let us down. It's been an amazing car, almost like a member of the family.

My mom used to have a 1996 Honda Accord as well same as you no issues she got rid of it because it was aging for a 2002 Honda Accord, that one had a lot of problems because of the defective transmission on it, then a 2007 Honda Accord it kept going until 2019 when the ac quit working, and all the other fixes on it, she had a 2016 Nissan Sentra for a brief, she hated it because the ac didn’t work right and the transmission and engine hesitated when it was cold outside and now she has a 2020 Honda Civic Lx no complaints at all. 😁 I have a 2015 Honda Civic Lx my very first Honda, love it, no complaints only had to do an oil change twice. 😁

My stepdad had a 2003 accord coupe with 280,000 miles that he sold. Now he has a 2016 accord with 159,000 miles. My brother has a 2019 civic hatchback sport. Not one of our Honda’s have ever had a catastrophic problem worst repairs were brakes. We follow the owners manual recommendations religiously and none of the cars have ever let us down.

Loved, loved, loved this video! What a great video for car enthusiasts that know the quality of Honda products! Loved my introduction to Honda with a brand new 1980 Civic 4-speed hatchback (sold to my sister); then a brand new 1988 Acura Integra 5 speed (still have, but not running, I blew the timing belt); then a five speed 1988 Acura Legend Coupe (sold to my brother); then a 1994 Acura Legend automatic Coupe (sold to my sister); then a 2003 Acura TL (sold to my sister, still her everyday driver); then a 2007 TL (sold to my niece, her everyday driver); then a 2015 TLX (my husband's everyday driver) and last September I bought my 2020 brand new RLX Sport Hybrid (black on black) for my dream retirement car (but I'm still working). But my all time favorite car, and the neatest part of this video, is your ending with my 1991 Red NSX with 124K miles that feel like 24K! Greatest car ever made and so much fun to drive and shift through the gears with that sweet engine right behind your head! Best sound ever! You rock, Mr. Kilmer!

Can you tell Honda to stop putting that tiny 1.5 ltr engine in their CR-V
@Aviyel
@Aviyel 3 жыл бұрын
In some countries, cars are taxed based on cubic capacity of their engines, many a sale lost by Honda due to competitors having smaller turbo charged engines. These days small 3 cylinder 1.2 litre turbo engines are plenty. Honda needs to keep in touch. I own a 1.6l turbo charged engine which outputs similar to a 2.4 normal aspirated engine. Have covered 240,000 kilometres already. I personally don't mind the smaller turbos.
