Wow! What a score! Fantastic clean-up on that carb. Lots of filters but the jets were really clean. 😃👍

Thanks Scout! The filters made all the difference on this one I think 👍🏻

Thank you! Out of curiosity I looked up what they sell for and I couldn’t believe how much these little generators are worth!

Pilot jets of that style - I too have found ones with single O-rings and doubles, but I just came across one with NO O-ring! I’ll keep an eye on it when I finish this generator to make sure it’s not leaking and install one if necessary, but the outside of the carb was pretty clean so I think the friction fit I encountered was enough.

Interesting, I’ve never come across one with no o-ring

@@hester781 This is on a Generac Centurion 3250/3750, 2012 in slightly dirty but great condition. Customer requested one and I’ve had this a couple years but never really looked at it until now. I’m thinking around $300-350 if it produces good power.

@@Rein_Ciarfellamaking good power I think that’s worth $350 all day 👍🏻

I saw something in the end of the fuel line when you pulled it off the carb and I wondered what kind of debris that was! I haven’t seen that carb filter before, but I’m not surprised since it’s a Honda. The more filtration the better! I just came across a petcock that did have some debris in it, so apparently that is a thing.

I agree, more filters = less problems 👍🏻

Rein i have seen the shutoff valves so plugged it took one hour in the ultrasonic just to loosen it up enough that i could run a wire through it to start opening up the inside diameter then ultrasonic clean it again to hit original ID. Business should grow 25% this year since all our pump fuel now is hitting 10% ethanol. Carb cleans and rubber everything replacements and as Tom Dolby says MONEY

I don’t see how there could be too much filtration if everything works properly. P.S. - I always enjoy your videos

Agreed, over engineered is generally the way I prefer things 👍🏻 Thank you!

Hey, JD, Rein here from the Cape. Wait, this is your FIRST generator, or your first Honda generator this model? Just finished restoring my first one ever for a customer and restoring my second one as a flip.

This was my first of this model of generator. I’ve worked on many others and I have a few videos on some of them

Dont you just love the smell of old fuel? Makes the shop smell so nice we started using a lavender smelling degreaser in the ultrasonic just to enjoy the shop again.

Unrelated question, since we’re in the same geographical area - what machines are people looking for now? I’ve got a yard and garage full of all kinds of machines from string trimmers up to lawn tractors and am ready to start restoring whatever will be in demand first.
@hester7814 ай бұрын
The last few years have been very interesting in the small engine world. Tractors that used to sell for $300 are now going for $700 in my area. In my experience Tractors have been moving the fastest and bringing the most money, next has been self propelled mowers (with bags) then backpack blowers, then pressure washers. String trimmers are hit and miss depending on brand and straight vs curved shaft. Snowblowers are usually a good money maker but have been a tough sell lately lol

Broke down and bought a Kill-a-Watt after my first generator ‘cause I knew I was gonna need it soon! Ready Kilowatt - wasn’t that a little electrical icon guy for better living through electricity or for the power company? Yup, Jim is The Generator God! He’s also one of the best-produced KZfaq creators I’ve ever watched. youtube.com/@jcondon1?si=NMkX4GAC2gkA2Nm3 But you’re the funniest, dude! That fuel gauge modification had me in tears!!!👍

You hit the nail on the head! Reddy killowatt! Much of what I know about the electrical side of generators I’ve learned from him 👍🏻
