I did this install a few years back - I recently went back and added polyfill to the sub chamber and like others have said, it makes a massive difference. The bass was very boomy and all over the place prior to the polyfill - now it's focused and punchy. Highly recommended. I also added dynamat to the sub "cover" (the grille and covering for the woofer) and that also made a big difference. That grille is flimsy and rattled a ton before the dynamat. Great video!!

is there a reason you went with the 2ohm version of the CompR? do you know if the factory sub was in fact 2ohm DVC?
@Element_lifestyle3 жыл бұрын
The oem one is 2ohm so I went with the same.
@davidstone3780 Жыл бұрын
The factory sub is not 2ohm dvc it is single voice coil for a two ohm load. You actually need to dual 4 ohm which will create a 2 ohm load on the amp. The dual two ohm will try to pull 1 ohm.
@adrenalinemadness3340 Жыл бұрын
@@davidstone3780I think a 2ohm will work better than a 4ohm. I read someone else in the comments that they have a rattle and they installed a 4ohm, I installed a 4ohm kicker subwoofer and I get a small rattle. It might be the lose wires. I will try to sound dead the wires and everything that could bounce around and post an update. It’s quite odd because websites like crutchfield recommend 4ohm

I was wrong it is a dual 2 ohm and the factory amp is actually 6 channel so a 2 ohm load on each coil to the amp. Thanks.

My dad has been thinking of selling the Element to get a Tacoma or a Colorado from 2004 to 2012. Usually the Tacoma’s are around 12k to 16k and Colorado for 8k to 12k. My dad doesn’t have that much money right now so will it be better for him to fix it or sell it and get a new truck? And Yea sound way better than factory subwoofer I been sitting in my dads element and decided to test out the sound system when I listen to Rap the bass on the sub not very good. In case my dad doesn’t sells the Element. What amp and sub would you recommend for the Element?
@Element_lifestyle2 жыл бұрын
I will stick with an Element or a Tacoma. Element engines and Tacomas engine are one of the greatest engines , they can Last so many miles and very reliable. It depends of your dad necessities with the vehicle he can choose between either one. I think if you just having the subwoofer in the center , just any amp will be a huge diference in bass quality. There is so many amps in the market and some will defenitly will better. But as long is an aftermarket you will notice a big change. I hope your dad decide whats the best for him. I kind of stick away from new cars for now.
@RandomCaliforniaAdventure2 жыл бұрын
@@Element_lifestyle You're right about that! I own an 05 element and rarely maintain it yet it still lasted me about 246k. The engine mount wore off and the crankshaft was affected...did I ever fix it? Nope, drove it as is for another 50k before I sold it for $500 bucks. The Tacoma is a different story since that is my dad's favorite truck and I didn't want to mistreat it. Been taking care of it and at 239k its still my daily driver and go to road trip truck. I bought my dad a 2019 and already had issue with engine gasket failing at 30k. I was pissed at Toyota...the new trucks are much more fragile than the older trucks which was built more like a tank.

Installed mine today, it rattles really bad. I’m wondering if it’s because the stock location has no port so it’s creating back pressure causing the face of the sub to rattle? I’ve spent hours on this today and am stumped 🤔

@@Element_lifestyle I decided to unscrew the “box” and upon examining I discovered that it actually had a port inside that went from the bottom to the right side and out the upper back. I chose the 4 Ohm version of this Kicker woofer so I’m not sure if that would make a difference in rattle. My theory is that the port may not be large enough for the amount of pressure the sub generates 🤷♂️
@adrenalinemadness3340 Жыл бұрын
@@MokitoshiCatekamotohow sealing the port worked for you? I got the 4 ohm version and it rattled as well. I tried to put acoustic foam all around it and even inside the port very stuffed. I even tried to put only two connectors instead of the all 4 around and will still rattle. My theory is that the subwoofer is underpowered or maybe is defective. I will get an skar subwoofer 2ohm hoping the one doesn’t rattle. I even slightly press the subwoofer to see if it will help and it kinda reduce the rattle

Can the factory AMP handle that subwoofer?
@EduardoGonzalez-fb3jv Жыл бұрын
It be best to install a small aftermarket amplifier rated for the kicker subwoofer. The speaker is just a woofer and its only connected to the headunit, notice how after the install of the subwoofer there was any excursions visible. This kicker speaker is a subwoofer and can handle greater wattage producing more excursions and better noise (bass). Yea, for better results buy a small amplifier for it.

Where did you get the floor mat? Link?
@databloom703 жыл бұрын
I scored a set from a junkyard. Was lucky as Honda has discontinued the mats. You might be able to pick-up a set on Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, etc. but be prepared to pay a premium as pretty much all Element owners are on the hunt for them. After you get the mats then you'll need to find the hooks that secure them in place. Good luck... I haven't been able to find any, and have been toying with the idea of fabricating my own.
@Element_lifestyle3 жыл бұрын
Hi, floor mats is are an oem item. Only place to get it is used in offer up, ebay ,Facebook market place or junk a car.
@databloom703 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I had a set of oem mats in the past that wore out fairly quickly under light to moderate use. I don't think Honda used the most durable material as the rubber is a bit on the soft side. I had success with a mat set I purchased at Walmart that let you trim to fit all makes and models. They had a pattern for the Element on their website and they ended up lasting for the entire time I owned the vehicle. Another option would be to go with a high quality brand like Weathertech, but in my opinion they're overpriced for what you get.
