The only way to compare these two machines would have been with the same exact tread, thus leaving the differences up to the machine's mechanical abilities.

Never cloud your judgement with bias. Honda folks are obsessed with making statements of superiority over one brand, Polaris! Why is that? If Honda should OEM better tires, why is that? Remain skeptical no allegiance to a brand! That drives a specific industry to keep inventing!

The polaris diff locks automatically so you do have true awd. Also i see comments about the polaris belts but ive also seen many hondas that were stuck in gear or wouldn't shift anymore the sportsman 570 is alot heavier than the honda and also has about double the hp sorry to the honda guys the hondas have always been great atvs but are wayyyy behind polaris as far as tec and hp and ride comfort put into their atvs honda is definitely capable of puting more into them and i wish they would
@highplainsdrifter9631 Жыл бұрын
Polaris may be more powerful, but Honda has reliability, build quality and longevity in spades. Honda definitely can build powerful engines, as their Marine outboards demonstrate perfectly. For what their ATVs are used for, I think Honda has plenty of power. I myself have a Honda Foreman with the manual transmission, and that Honda shaft drive puts power to the ground immediately. 1st gear and you just touch the throttle and it goes. Also a great transmission for the compression braking offered when going down a steep switchback. I just have peace of mind Riding Red when I'm miles back in the Rockies, hours away from help.

No comparison between these 2 machines. The Polaris might excel on a tight trail but the Honda beats it for absolutely everything else. Will say this is an unfair test as the Nitros are a far superior gripping tire vs the stock Carlisles.

Polaris 570 engine is a Pro Star engine made by Polaris in St Clair, MN. They make great engines. The Polaris 450 is a Fuji Industries engine made in Japan and is a 499cc engine even though it says 450.

Dude Polaris is locked, always has been locked and was the first company to have true locked 4 wheel drive. There’s just no option to shut it off. Because why would you? Also you aren’t in snow until it’s dragging it’s belly in the snow. Take them out and try climbing a steep hill in that bit of snow you have there.

@ Greg DeGuerre. Becouse trying to operate any vehicle at speed with a truly locked front differential is hard on components and dangerous AF.

Polaris's 4WD system is superior to any ATV. I've owned lots over the years, Can-Am's, Yamaha, and Polaris. I have a brand new 2022 Sportman Trail 570 and can honestly say the fit and finish is on par with my 2019 Grizzly 700 EPS. The Grizzly has more low end torque (bigger engine) but the Sportsman is faster and more fun to drive. Grizzly has 27" mud tires vs Sportsman with 26" Duro cross over tires (awesome on snow). Sportsman has Better handling and suspension and no worrying about locking the diff when things get hairy. If the Sportsman shows Reliability similar to the Grizzly, I will keep buying Polaris. The Sportsman 570 trail is the best bang for your buck.

The downfall to the AWD system is that it only can be engaged below 18kmh, the manual lists an RPM but that's not true. It's always 18kmh. So if you are going 40 and need 4x4, you can turn it in but you'll get nothing until below 18kmh

My dad has a grizzly, and its always fun for me to watch him goof around with putting it in 4x4 when we come to an obstacle... i go right over, and hell go at it in 4x2, then back off and switch to 4x4 H, then when that fails hell go to 4x4 Low, and then hell finally get it a third time in 4x4 lock... then have to stop AGAIN after the obstacle to put his machine BACK in 2wd so he can steer the thing lol

@@nicholasmapes are you tires wearing fast being in AWD always? My 850 came with CST's and they wear out faster than any tire I've seen. And I thought the Carlisle 489's that came on my KQ were bad. I can only imagine that my front would be half worn too by now if I kept it in AWD.

On the Honda once you engage front diff lock hold the starter button down for a few seconds, it will "over ride the stock 20MPH max speed to 40MPH+ thus why the starter button has " /OR " on it. That Honda would have smoked the Polaris if you knew what you were doing.
@andrewsterrificchannel3130 Жыл бұрын
I don’t think you’ve ever ridden a Polaris. That Honda doesn’t stand a chance at the sportsmans speed.
@EC_ATV_Outdoors Жыл бұрын
I don't know what a 570 is limited to, but an 850 does 132kmh. Even thinking a Honda will smoke anything is absurd. 1) they are speed limited 2) they are slow in comparison to any otherout if the hole. 3) they aren't even reliable anymore. I know 3 people covering 2 models and all are 2018+. All have the same transmission issues. One was given a new ATV after 4 years, 13 shop visits, and the dealer put a computer on it to analyze it. It had 16000km on it by then and they still had no clue what the issue was.

I just don’t see how you can compare those two, they’re two totally different manufacturers of ATV that is made for two totally different types of people. To the person who wants a nice smooth riding cheap ATV, who really doesn’t use it a lot, only for trail riding, and the occasional light duty job, then the Polaris is definitely the way to go. If you want quality, well built dependable ATV and you are going to be working it every single day, mid, to heavy duty work, and still want it to be around two to three decades later, then you better go with the Honda, that is the bottom line! At the end it comes down to affordability, because you get what you pay for, in the end.
