Hi everyone. Are you on the market or interested in a middleweight scooter? then this could be the one for you. This is the Honda Forza 300 exeterrider Review.
If you would like to support the channel please check out this link -www.buymeacoffee.com/exeter
With its comfort, storage capacity, good looks, and low road tax cost (UK £42 ) this could be a very good choice for you.
The Honda Forza 300 is a popular scooter model manufactured by Honda, a well-known Japanese motorcycle brand. Here are some key features and information about the Honda Forza 300:
1. Design and Styling: The Honda Forza 300 features a sleek and modern design. It has a sporty appearance with sharp lines and aerodynamic bodywork. The scooter offers a comfortable riding position with a spacious seat and ample legroom. It typically includes a large windscreen for improved wind protection during rides.
2. Engine: The Forza 300 is powered by a 279cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This fuel-injected engine delivers smooth and responsive power suitable for both city commuting and longer rides. The engine is designed to provide a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
3. Performance: The Forza 300 offers solid performance for a scooter. It provides quick acceleration and smooth power delivery, allowing for easy maneuvering in urban traffic. It can reach highway speeds comfortably and maintain good stability during longer rides.
4. Storage and Practicality: One of the notable features of the Forza 300 is its ample storage capacity. It typically includes under-seat storage that can accommodate a full-face helmet or other personal items. Additionally, there may be a front glovebox compartment for added convenience.
5. Features: The Honda Forza 300 incorporates several features to enhance the overall riding experience. These may include a digital instrument cluster displaying various information such as speed, fuel level, trip meters, and more. Some models may offer additional features such as LED lighting, keyless ignition, and smartphone connectivity for navigation and other functions.
6. Suspension and Brakes: The Forza 300 is equipped with a telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks, providing a comfortable and controlled ride over various road conditions. It typically features disc brakes at the front and rear, offering reliable stopping power.
7. Safety Features: The Forza 300 prioritizes safety with features like ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which helps prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking, improving stability and control.
The specifications and features of the Honda Forza 300 may vary slightly depending on the specific market and model year. It's always recommended to consult Honda's official website or authorized dealers for the most up-to-date and detailed information about the Honda Forza 300 available in your region.
Thanks to Bridge motorcycles Exeter for the bike and if you are down this way then it's well worth a look in their showroom.

Greetings from Pattaya, Thailand. I was thinking of upgrading from my Honda Click (which some tour all over Thailand on) to an ADV 150 or something similar, but this or the Xmax 300 is obviously so much better. At 60, I appreciate comfort, and so does my pillion rider. Thanks for the vid!

@@exeterrider The early scoots with this name had a very small screen, like a broad fly screen, this indicates that it was made for the warmer and dryer climates such as Spain portugal, Italy southern france etc.where there is a larger market for such scooters. In fact all such scooter are far more popular on the Continent than motorcycles. I think its a fashion thing. One can't wear normal clothes on a motorcycle but one sees it all the time on a scooter [ dangerous tho that is ] Its brill at round town work and economical but with our weather in the UK a screen becomes a necessary option and a screen that protects against bad weather will cost in terms of power, speed and economy. It's a catch 22 situation ,one either wants weather protection or suffer the consequences.it will still do 70 mph plus with a screen on. Anyway who wants to do 95 mph plus on our roads I know that I don't.

Good road test, as usual. I've had mine over a year, and I think it's just brilliant. Bought as a second bike mainly to get through winter, it is a superb town scoot. It's so smooth, if feels like you are gliding along. Brakes and handling are excellent, and I'm a heavy bloke. My only nit-pic is I found the mirrors showed half of my arms as well as the road behind. I've also toured on it, and it has been great fun. It'll leave most cars at the lights too! Great stuff! Ride safe, mate.

Good review. I've had mine for nearly 3 years and it's mainly used as a winter workhorse. It's nippy round town, 60mph all day, and I've toured on it a few times and it's been great fun. (My favourite scoot was the Burgman 650, but the ageing process made it too heavy to back up in car parks etc). I find it hard to criticise the Forza for what it is. My only gripe is I get through tyres every 3000 miles or so. But I'm fortunate enough to always have a motorcycle in my garage too. Take care, ride safe.

We have racked up 6000km both touring and in the heavy Bangkok traffic and I love it. Absolutely perfect, comfy and goes well. We have a big Shad box with a backrest on + small rack for the tent and it carries two of us and all the camping gear without any issues. If it were just riding in Bangkok, I'd have bought a PCX150 though, the only slight niggle is the lightness of the steering on full lock sneaking around the cars in stood traffic and the stupid place they put the document holder which nicks an inch from the height of the luggage capacity in the middle of the underseat. Absolutely love with it! We did Koh Samui in 10 hours (750km) and it runs 31km per litre with two of us and luggage. 10.5 litre tank. We didn't have any aching backsides and were fresh as a daisy upon arrival. We have zero wobble, even at 140 but heard reports of some people that do, sorted by rebalancing the front wheel. Effortless, fun riding and feels solid on the fast bends. Half the price of an ugly Burgman and much more practical.

Thank you for the review. I bought the Honda Forza 125 cc then progressed to the 300cc. If a new buyer is expecting a noticable power difference between the two you will be disappointed. However, great storage which I increased by purchasing Givi top box/tank bag. Average mpg for me is just under 80 mpg. I will be touring on it.

Great review ER. I test drove (hired) one for 4 days over 1,200kms on the back roads and mountains in Thailand, loved every second. A tiny bit under powered on the steep mountain inclines, but not a major issue. I had it up to 130kms/hr on the highway, more than enough to keep up with traffic and better them. Under seat storage is phenomenal, I carried a large back pack filled to the seams and still room for a jacket and bits. Thinking I needed more power I've just hired / tested a Honda X-ADV 750, great ride but heavy and hot between the legs where the engine is, also lacking in the storage department, including no glove box. Having driven a PCX for 6 years, I fancied a change, hence the interest in the X-ADV, but from a practical point of view, I think the Forza takes the biscuit as a good / comfortable all rounder, pottering, touring and the highway dash. I don't think you mentioned the large glove box with charger point. Cheers, Chris.

Just to add. The positives are great storage, wide comfy seat, so smooth and good economy. Negatives are horrible buffeting on motorway, im 5ft 11 and the wind blast was not good at all, mirrors not wide enough with very poor visabilty altho this is good for filteting and horn to indicator placement is bad.

I'm also 5'11 but I sit in a more relaxed position and with the screen up (I wear an open face helmet and no goggles) it has so far kept everything out of my eyes, even at night! I'm with you on the mirrors though, just an extra inch would make a huge difference. Horn position is bad, should be where the info button is but these are minor niggles compared at the overall enjoyment it gives us.

Thanks v much for the review, forza 300 looks like the bees knees. At six feet three i'm glad you gave the seat position demo as it could be a bit tight for me. I have an sh125 that came with top box and screen, and it's a reasonable fit for me. Will consider the forza, although a 2020 sh has just been released, with a euro 5 compliant engine additional under seat storage new electronic dash layout etc. I'd have to get a sit on the forza before committing to a purchase.

Honda missed the boat again with short Leg room !. Why not have blocks in plastic. or any material to remove from the foot area if you want 10 cm more to stretch out. You unbolt the blocks or take away in 5 cm increments. EZ then any tall person over 5.6 or 150 cm can ride comfortable !

This may be too late of a reply but could be informative for others. Regarding the ride height the only thing you do when stopping is slide forward on the ball of the seat. The weight is very low so when compared to a motorbike it feels much lighter. I’d say equivalent to 125kg. I have a few bikes. It’s probably on par with my monkey bike to manoeuvre around the garage. But the size of my Vstrom 1000. It is high for anyone 5f 8 and below but as I said you just scoot forward on the seat when stopping. Excellent scooter... so much fun and can definitely keep up with motorbikes.

Very informative. Thinking of swapping my NC750 X DCT for the new Forza 350 that's just come out. Arthritic knees, metal hip and age are making position on most motorbikes uncomfortable now on longer journeys and getting on and off tall bikes is an issue. Test rode the 350 and was really impressed. Belt drive also has its attraction over chain maintenence.

@@exeterrider Yes I think so. The NC has been great over the past couple of years ( I've put 20k miles on it), but I'm not finding it comfortable over long distances mainly due to hip and knee issues. I don't carry a pillion very often and think the new 350 would be ideal as it will easily maintain 70 mph on the motorway and allows you to change foot/leg position. Also offers great storage for longer tours and won't have to crawl around adjusting the chain! I've been told that they even go pretty well with a pillion - but that's not really an issue for me as wife only hops on for the odd short trip. Also interested in the Xmax and the Burgman 400 but GT in Plymouth haven't got any demo scoots at the moment. Meant to be test riding the c400GT at Ocean Plymouth , when weather improves a bit, hopefully one day next week.

That’s interesting to hear. I ride mine like I stole it. Racing bikes through the twisties... well, basically trying to keep up with the bike in front. Not great on the straights but I rarely slow down for the corners giving me the opportunity to catch up. I do ride for about 10 minutes to warm the tyres up, but I might look into changing them as I think half the fun of this scooter is it’s ability around corners... always trying to get respect from the much faster bikes haha. I have much bigger and faster bikes but this is such a hoot! Thank you very much for writing the above and I hope you are recovering well.

Great review bud, thanks. Do you still have your Burgie 650? I have had Burgie’s for some years now and love them, though the older I get, and I am OLD now!, the more I wonder whether it’s worth trading ‘her’ in for a 300cc bike again - I had the Forza 300 old style and I THINK this new one may be too tall for me - I’m 5ft 6.5’ (don’t know my inside leg) but I think when we’re able, I may try this one again so thanks again for the UK review.

Also, how many long does a scooter last for? Like how many miles. Usually for good cars you'll start running into maintenance issues after 70,000-100,000 miles. Do scooters last longer?

Rode the Forza to London and back from Devon with no issues what so ever. I just have two minor issues however with the Forza, one is the screen is just too short even on its full extent. The other is you can not get two full face helmets under the seat due to a silly bracket attached underneath which I think is supposed to hold the owners manual. I got round this by fitting a top box, even so a lovely scooter 🥰

exeter rider I tend to alternate between the two as I commute around 15 miles a day. I upgraded from the NC700 to the 750X two years ago as I have family in Bristol and London so do a fair few miles visiting. The NC is perfect for that due to it’s crazy MPG. However I started to get hip issues early in the year and was struggling to get on the bike so went to Bridge to try a step through, was offered the Forza and it was love at first sight. It was my intention to trade in the NC to cover the cost but could not bring myself to it much to the wife’s disgust 😂 Anyway hip better now and as I said I really enjoy them both. Yes under the seat there is a plastic bracket right in the middle which looses you around two inches in height and makes it almost impossible to get two helmets in.

1990 Hire one first and do a good run. As you know there are no meaningful test drives from dealers in Thailand. The X-ADV is quite heavy and blooming hot from the engine between the legs in this hot country. Otherwise a great bike with fantastic DCT auto and manual options. A bit of storage but no comparison with the Forza, and no glove box. Loved the styling and ride, but not as practical as the Forza. I'm struggling with the choice also, but my last trip on the X-ADV, I think, convinced me it's not the one, also the price at almost £11,000 at the current exchange rate is hard to swallow. For me, I reckon a strategic hire in the area you want to tour would be a practical solution to the touring aspect. It would take me 6 days each way to get from Krabi to Chiang Mai for instance, for the Mae Hong Son loop tour, at say 2-3,000 THB/day in petrol, hotels and food, would go a long way towards the flight and a bike hire. Also less hassle hiring in other countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.

Was really liking the 750 especially in the denim blue color and as usual Honda decides not to ship it to the US. 300 is good too just wish they would stop the selective crap on where to ship it. Whoever is making poor decisions like that should be fired it’s very short sighted on their part. May wait there are rumors of a 350 or 300 adv coming my way. Another tragedy they won’t import the X ADV

Far too costly for a city commuter where the pcx150 is more than enough. Also, I wish a bit more time had been taken to demonstrate the under the seat storage volume as the assertion that a full face helmet could be accommodated in the rear as well as the front position was not in anyway supported by the quick demonstrated positioning of the helmet in either position - leaving one to wonder just what exactly the real storage capabilities are for materials other than simply 2 helmets- assuming they actually do fit. Similarly, there seems to be no options for other small but very useful accoutremounts such as the ability to accommodate a secure phone mount for maps etc and video cameras able to see around the windshield. Rather strange omissions, especially given the ubiquitousness of the use of phones for such purposes in Asia....

Agree with most of your comments - I would say a boring bike but so efficient in all ways, safe, fuel-efficient, good storing capacities, easy to drive, BUT ugly-looking, a bit heavy in cornering, not so stable on wet roads, not-convincing emergency braking - a good service horse with no fun. I sold it back after 1,900km to buy a Yamaha.

Sorry but there is a big problem with the mirrors and that may make it one of the most dangerous machines on the road. Its possibly ok for standard persons of say 5' 9 " tall and not of any great bulk but I am over 6ft tall and weigh in at 17 stone so pretty broad and not even pretty.,, I found that with the short stalks on the mirrors i was only seeing my arms and elbows and no matter what I did I could not alter the rear view of either mirror to my satisfaction. I have had dozens of bikes and scooters in my past but the amount of vision that I had with this one only was dangerous to me and to other road users. The older Forza had the mirrors fitted on the handlebars and if they were on too short a stalk one could buy a lengthener. However these new mirrors are attached to the bodywork and have electrics going through them so no extensions or longer stalks are available. So whilst i love the bike it's biggest drawback to me is a safety issue a lack of safety due to no rear view of traffic.

I must add that I liked the bike so much I have just purchased a 2013 one but the advantage is its got additions to the mirror stalks and now I can see tailgators where I couldn't see anything behind me at all with the latest model. It's no doubt a popular bike and sells well so I can imagine that for many a riders they don't have the same unfortunate problem that I had so its certainly won't be as dangerous as stated to them..Its certainly a bike to be considered and enjoyed.
