One trick I do on all my Honda's when draining the coolant, is to open the coolant reservoir cap while leaving the radiator cap closed. This pulls the coolant out of the reservoir. This way, there is no old coolant sitting in it to put a film on the insides and it always looks clean. When I get ready to fill the radiator and reservoir with new coolant, I use the Lisle coolant funnel in the radiator like you do to "burp" the system, and I also fill the reservoir to the fill line. After the first drive, I check the level in the reservoir to refill, if necessary.
