This old Honda Izy Lawn mower was left for scrap "spares Or Repairs". I bought it for £40 and decided to renovate it and see if I could increase its value. All the work I do is not timed, I do this as a hobby as I enjoy rebuilding things that people have given up on so let's see if I can bring this lawn mower back to life and turn a profit in doing so.

Martin That was a nice straight forward job striping and cleaning in the 1980s when I was starting out buying and selling cars when I was string down brake parts and engine parts my uncle would help me at the weekends at is house in his garage and if their was any dirt or oil grease on anything he would blow his top he would say always wash the parts down first before you do a job you do not want oil over your hands and putting it back on the parts you just serviced so learnt my lesson in cleaning of parts when doing a job Great video always enjoy Phil in stoke

Proper job mow mow man!! Izy ready for another 10 years service life. Great idea for cleaning grass bag... sadly won't fit in mine so just spray carpet cleaner and brush it in then jet wash it off. Mostly been building and repairing mountain bikes lately myself.. in process of build Riley a new one... dam boy growing too fast lol shock horror he 7 this year 😳

Honestly Martin (Sid James) Butler, all that boasting! Polishing yer knob and you´ve got a 16" one, what a carry on! :) Another great video and the tutorial on carb maintaince was excellent. Here is a thought. I looked at your playlist but could not see one. Perhaps have a play list of essentials of maintainance. Carb refurb, Cable install that sort of thing. It strikes me in this day and age those things are becoming a dying art, we are both a generation where we learned this as kids either in school or at home with dads and uncles. I have tought many of my friends for instance the basics of Bicyle maintiance as they had no idea how to adjust gears, change brake pads, tighten spokes or replace cables. If you take a push bike to a shop to do a basic tune up you can say goodbye to almost (here in Austria) €150 These sorts of things should be almost ingrained in us as basics of life. It is why your channel is so important as it deals with all of this so beautifully, I´m always sending your channel links to friends and they find them very useful.

@@retrorestore it’s funny Martin, the TV here in Austria is like the TV was in the seventies and Eighties in the UK, very similar style of humour and variety shows. There is of course the usual modern reality tv but that largely is just shown on one channel. I really love the Austrian comedy movies from the 50’s/60’s/70’s they are so like the British ones from back then and now my German is becoming fairly decent I can enjoy them even more! Having said that though, I have all the carry on’s Boulting Brothers and Ealing comedies all on my computer, was watching carry on screaming last Saturday!

Heyo martin was wondering if u adjusted the valves when u serviced the engine, u dint show it but was just curious. I like the front of those mowers cause looks like they have ol style bubble fenders.

No I didn't need to. If it had starting problems, I would have checked the valves. Not worth touching them if everything is working fine.

Price of mower 30 to 60 plus your electric powder wire wheels workshop rates and minimum wage you'll want 200 back to split even could spend the same amount of time doing less work for more at end of it
