It's 2022 and I've just followed your video to fix the exact problem I have on my 2008 Odyssey. Thank you for a very detailed video, I'm sure I've just save a bunch of money watching your 7:55 minutes video.

a fix that usually works (maybe not permanent): turn the AC on and set the fan to highest (5). now move the temperature control to the maximum hottest (HI). leave it there a few seconds, then move the temperature all the way down to coldest (LOW). leave it there a few seconds. your cold air should start again now.

We took our van into Honda last summer and for a clicking sound coming from the dash. He told us it was a common problem and there was a motor that was going bad. This was very helpful. I have been hearing little noises under the dash for a few weeks now. Last few days I started to have this issue. After reading all the comments below, I tried the "adjust it to HI, then back to LO a few times", and it seems to now be freed up. I suspect it was stuck and may only need to be lubed a bit, but will keep an eye on it in case I need to replace it going forward. Thanks.

My 2005 Ody EX-L and my 2009 Ody EX-L both had this exact problem. But it wasn't the blend door actuator... it was the heater control valve. The actuator was working correctly, but the valve, while appearing to be in the closed position, was only really fully closed when it was jammed in the closed position. Any tiny bit away from that and it spiked the temp on both sides. If you remove the cable from the valve and jam it closed, it may prove the problem. Part was about $50.

wow....so the past 2 days, this is what happened to me. I was really confused why one side is hot air and the other is cold. Thanks. Now I know how to fix it.

Thanks much for this video. I had the same problem with my 2006 Odyssey, hot from the driver's vent, cold from the passenger's and it made noise like something was flapping around in the vents. Bought the part online, OEM, for $105 and installed it. Works like new.

My problem exactly. Initially I changed relay in the fuse box, it seems solved the problem. But the problem returned after a while. I need to adjust temperature to low in order to temporarily fix the problem. So it is not a relay problem for me. I saw this video, I found my problem is same as this one. The ebay component costs about 65$, not a big deal comparing regular charge for an AC problem. But I dissembled the servo, I did not find it to be too much damaged/wore out, I did a simple clean and add new contact lubricant, the servo works as new again(there is no vibrating noise any more). I　believe it is the conducting film got wore out a little, the wore out paste will conducting current and prevent servo to reach correct position. After the extra conducting paste(black in color) was clean out, the servo is back to normal. As I see it, this is a design/manufacture problem, it you set climate control to a fix temperature, after 10 years, this part is doomed to fail. Mine lasted 10 years.

Trying to determine if it is this part or the heat coil. Heat works on passenger side but not on driver side. When I test the driver side, the acuator moves...although not as far as yours appears to. Replacing a heat coil is a major job. Would prefer the fix to be this part but both sides are moving. Did your broken part move at all before you replaced it?

I know this old, but I hope my question can be answered. I have this problem and we know it is the driver assembly. We got away with lubricating it for a few months, but it's out again. My husband just said to have Honda do it because it was a pain in the butt. I just ordered the part from Honda ($160) and they quoted me $250 for labor. When I made the appointment they mentioned having to "program it" after replacing it. Is this BS or will it be fine doing it at home? We can think of many better ways to spend $250. :)

Hi there Thanks for the video, except I have one problem. I have looked at mine and seems to be moving up and down when i change temp. I have taken it off and manually move the white lever aswell and seems to still only blow normal air not cold. but when i move it down by hand it's got like heater ??? so ive put it back on and still moving fine?? Do you think it's low on gas , because I have watched another video and they mention the no. 1 issue is low refrigerant?? what are your thoughts ? Thanks you, lookong forward to your reply

question: I had a bad luck, I bought a used honda oddesy 2006 from a very small dealer, dealer sold it as it was, no warranty. I did a test drive, it worked fine, but after I bought it and drove it for several days, I found the AC is passenger and driver side cold, the rear side is extremly hot. if I turn rear side AC on, the driver and passenger side will be warm , and rear side is hot. once I turn off rear side AC, driver and passenger side is ice cold. I went to a Auto repair shop, they said it is honda's common problem with compressor, it would cost me 1200~1500 dollars. oh , my.., I have to find a cheap way to fix it . Finally , I found this video, but the problem is a little bit different, I don't know if this solution will fix my car's problem.

good afternoon I have that same problem but mine does not give cold air to the back half of the truck cold the other half not so cold will be the same part you changed?

Is it possible that both passenger and driver side temp driver motor go out at the same time ? My ac won’t blow hot air and both motors won’t move when put on hot or cold

just found this video and ordered my part... the part is definately broken, and won't move, period. even when I have it out, I can't move the arm manually. I did try manually moving the trigger under the dash to get the air flow to turn cold as you mention in the video. unfortunately, that did not make a difference in temperature. any thoughts? or just see what happens with the new part installed?

Toyota Rv Question: when you had this problem, if you adjusted the temperature controls up or down, for either the driver or passenger side, did the temperature of the passenger or driver side change at all? I also have the problem where the driver side is warm, the passenger side is cool. BUT I also have the problem that when adjusting the temperature between 65 and 86 for EITHER the passenger or driver side, the temperature does not change at all. It is always the same cold temperature on the passenger side, and always the same warm temperature on the driver side.

I NEED HELP! I am trying to remove the panel under the steering column which u already had removed in your video. I'm trying not to break it. I have some of it off on the left side but the side close to the radio is not budging. U mind helping me with this? Can't afford to replace a broken panel. And worse, I'll never hear the end of it from my wife.

I opened that part. gears were good, small motor was good. But I assembled them and connect it to odyssey. It still dont work. why?

This is mechanical problem not electrical. No need to check fuses. Ac work, blower works. Obviously this is a vent door sticking open.
