On the p1k hot seat issue.. I took my seat bottom and back as well as the plastic between them out and cut to fit double bubble metal building insulation. Used spray adhesive to stick it on . It works perfict...no more seat heat!!

Gates 20968 radiator hose an a hose clamp works really well to an put filter in the end of the hose lil tight to get on but seals well

Appreciate your videos man. Ordered my kit for P1k also. Never would've known about this without your video. I wired a marine bilge fan under front seat and it made a huge difference on my heat/steam issues also. Placed it on a switch so I still have warmth during the winter rides. Does your machine get warm at all anymore since your cabin comfort kit installation? Thanks for your helpful videos!

Awesome! Glad my video was a help! As far as the cabin comfort kit, heat still get through to keep it pleasant even without an enclosed cabin. Really all the kit did was keep the steam from coming into the front instead diverting it into the faces of the rear passengers...lol. I plan on doing an install vid of a bilge fan this year sometime.

What is the black wire running from to your positive on your second battery. Just watched your add a secondary battery video along with adding a Warn VRX45. Things didn’t turn out well and i must have something hooked up wrong. The winch doesn’t work. Humbly, as fool proof color coded as it seems, I missed something.

As of 8 sept 18...ive managed to break my engine into 2 pieces....do not trust the factory skid plate...FYI!...Im looking at quite the repair bill....please put a skid plate on your machine ASAP...unless you only ride around the old folks home...this would be a wise buy.🙄

I found the parts on rockymountainatv www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts/Honda The first schematic is "Front Fender+Hood" Number 4, 6 & 15. The chat/tech assured me its the upgraded intake cover as shown in above video. Duncan n I got them right from my local Honda dealer. You can just give them a call and give them the part numbers I have listed in the description and they should have them for you in a week or so.

Love the videos! I have a 2016 p1000 and a 2015 p500. Where can i buy the air intake upgrade and what tires would you recommend for stock rims on the p500? Thanks.

Mac Maxwell the upgraded air cover can be bought online on any site that sells oem parts. The part numbers are in the description so you can simply do a google search with the part number. Tires? Well that depends on what kind of riding you do. I’ve had 27” bighorns that were a great all around tire except for deep mud and now have the stock 27” tires off my Pioneer 1000 on and they work good in just about everything. The key with the 500 is to get a nice light tire.

What year is your P1k? If it is an 18’ or newer it will all ready have the upgraded intake box. Other wise I have the part numbers in the description for what you’ll need.

My factory cover doesn't look like that. At the back there is a hex screw, there is also a cover over the connectors (where your second battery is). The inside of the air box looks the same. Any idea what the part number for my cover assy would be? Thanks.

I know I'm bringing back an olllddd thread. I just bought an 18 model that appears to have this from the factory....did you extend your vent lines on the p1000 as well? Necessary? I can't seem to find a resource to say one way or another on the 2018s. Thanks in advance!

N Jones the 18’ and up model years have the updated intake all ready. As far as vent lines the fuel tank vent is a 100% MUST DO. Water will get into it just from washing or if the 1000 sits out in the rain. The rest are only necessary to vent if you plan on getting into deep water or mud.

How do you secure your second battery ?

I used heavy duty Velcro. Stuck it to the bottom of the battery and another piece on the bottom of the pocket. It was meant to be just temporary till I got a metal bracket made up but worked so well I left it.

Drew werd the part number is in the description. Check it with the part you got. I'm sure a local dealer would exchange it for the correct one.

Be sure honda gives the right parts...they apparently (at the dealer) do not keep up with upgrades properly

@@AppalachianMountainRiders hey its drew again....ive managed to create a nice new damage to my pioneer 1000-3p. FYI...the plastic skid that is mounted center will NOT protect the engine ...in the event that machine rolls over an object of odd shape..it is possible to receive damage thru the factory skid. I managed to crack the engine case on the trail...this is very bad. If it had not been for the smell of burning oil...it couldv been much worse...as Honda doesnt ship crate motors. So ...for your viewers as well as yourself, please consider installing a OVER BUILT center skid plate for this machine. It happend to me...it will happen again. Just sayin..spread the word please. It appears that my engine case is cracked into 2 pieces now...so im looking at a HUGE bill. Thank God its insured! Thanks..Drew

gpsjetskier the part numbers for everything you need is in the description. Can get them from a dealer or anyplace online that sells Honda oem parts

gpsjetskier I get most of my OEM parts from rockymountainatvmc.com just make sure they have the correct part numbers for the redesigned cover. I know some ran into that when ordering online.It showed the new cover in the picture but was still the old part number so they ordered what they all ready had. That was when it first came out though so I would think everything is updated by now.

I priced out those parts in Canada it looks like we get ripped off because it is $30 for each part plus a dollar fifty each clip. Total cost about $70 Canadian

Drew werd I have yet to get water in the new one. Plugging the intake hole in the bottom made a big difference. With the old I could see were splashes of water would dry and leave that dirty residue but not with the new. I take it you got everything straightened out with yours?

Not as a bolt in option. Some guys have started to adapt some to work. Seen a couple throw seats from a RZR in their 1000’s. Search in hondasxs.com and you can find info on it. I’m considering throwing buckets in the 500.

AppalachianMountainRiders .....hey...i have noticed a major problem on air intake on the new modification from Honda. STEAM from a hot, wet radiator radiates steam into to the interior of the hood area...ive noticed quite a bit of condesate getting sucked into the intake pipe...over time , a substantial amount of liquid forms into the intake and has affected power output due to injestion of condensed water collected in the pipe

Ok...got the plastic skid off....appears that the damage is isolated to the oil pan only...i can breathe now....😁

So if you ride in 95% dry southern AZ conditions, do you really need this mod? Does it add any more air thus more power or is this something that was only designed to keep water from coming in? Seems like some owners may not need this mod.

If these machines werent so expensive...i wouldnt be freaking out so much every time something broke...i could buy an old 113 military troop carrier for what i have wrapped up in this pioneer...but i can destroy just about anything

Side by sides sure are expensive anymore but they have come along way since the original Rhinos and mules. Unfortunately they do still break as easy as those older models...lol

Im still dealing with water...i tested it on some minor puddles...and after just 3 splashes i observed water in the intake 1st stage
