I bought my 300 yesterday..delivery tomorrow. 1st bike. So many people (who have larger bikes) say this 300 can't handle the highway. But people who OWN this bike (and other 300's) don't seem to have a problem. I'm really glad I saw this video. Even though 90% of my riding will be off highway, it's nice to see how well it handled it in this video. And thank you for not talking through the whole thing.

I've had my 300 now for a year, its a pretty decent bike for city. i have the Diablo rear fender, Diablo Side fairings and led tailight system installed. I put an M4 slip on and you can actually hear the bike better in the wind, sounds good for a single cylinder. I also upgraded the sprocket and it makes a world of difference. knowing after owning, this is a high rpm cruising bike, it's very nimble, and great for slow cruising. Gets a ton of compliments DEFINITELY upgrade the garbage tachometer that Honda put on. You can barely see anything on a cruise, and knowing the rpm you're at. I upgraded to Hogworks led projector 5 3/4" headlight and a new tach from J and P cycles. SO Glad i did.

I've been thinking on getting the 300. How does it handle in the highway? Can I keep going 60-70 mph for long periods of time? Like 1 or 2 hrs. I'm worried of overheating the engine or something because it's a 300 cc. I don't know much about motorcycles. I never had one, hence my question may sound ignorant

Now granted I converted my 300 to a bobber and probably shaved off about 50lbs worth of useless parts off the bike. The rear fender, lights, etc, alone weighed around 40lbs... Most motorcycles are going to be manual; you clutch with your hand and change gear with your foot. There are 6 gears for this bikes transmission, similarly to a car. With this particular bike if you're not used to feeling out RPM for changing gears, as there's no tachometer.

I need the bike for freeway commute and for the time being I need something reliable that's last me many years. My friend, a modern 300 is not like a 300 from the 80s. I have gone 90 on the freeway which you really should not do. The ABS may save your life, it did mine, many more expensive bikes don't even have it. It is light and narrow which is a big plus! Gets almost 80 miles a gallon! I don't consider it a cruiser at all, I think it's a standard. But just look at the competition, nothing comes close when I comes to price and features. I just don't like the muffler, too big for a 300, maybe I'll change it.
@davidzavala337
@davidzavala337 2 жыл бұрын
@@secutorclaudius I really appreciate your feedback. I called a dealer and I was told one thing they left me thinking, maybe you can clear that. I was told that, yes, a 300cc can cruise at freeway speeds, but RPMS will very high and not at a comfort level for such an engine, thus reducing its lifetime and oil consumption. The rebel 500 I'm quoted at $8100 and the 300 at $6100.

So you're telling me the engine will scream at us in every gear under 37 mph but as soon as we hit 6th it's fine ranging from 37 to 80? That's so fucking weird
@zhaolongcba5
@zhaolongcba5 2 жыл бұрын
You are right man! This engine behaves in a very weird way. If I remember correctly, as long as the bike was below 45 mph, it was very smooth. From 50 to 60 was the "buzz zone". Once it passes 60, it will get better.

rumble329 not really. If this would be your first bike, u will most probably have the hard time to feel it in the beginning. After while, it won’t bother u at all. You could easily feel the RPM
