Rod Myers boston dianamics do what ? Their robots are all driven by remort controls . Actually they are not robots they are just machines . Asimo is compleatly driven by AI .

boston dynamics copied from Japanese robot technology. The Japanese did all the hard work laying the foundation of the robotic technology but once again i fear the westerners will appropriate this technology and take all the credit.

The recovery and improvisation part on harsh terrain is completely procedural and can't be in anyway remote controlled, that alone makes Boston Dynamics work impressive and far above any scripted "AI" interaction.

Stifen73 check his movements couple of years ago and now.u will see the difference. Honda's mission is to make Asimo as a household wotker specialy for olds and handicapped people.And this is the appearance honda ever wanted as Asimo . And also Honda is developing Asimo's AI and smooth, fast and accurate body movements . asimo can already do many things but only show up little in public coz its still under development.

we are going to end up loving our robots very soon, like when mobiles, but more intense .i give it twenty yrs max we all have a robot. it will be a must have like a mobile is to us now.our robots will be doing most things for us.

Kinda disappointing given it performs just like it did years ago. Back then, it was amazing and no one else was even remotely close to something that moved as smoothly as it did. Feels like they just stopped R&D on this thing.

They kinda did, IIRC. They didn't end the project, but ASIMO as we know it isn't being worked on anymore. Instead, there are robots based on ASIMO that they're working on, like the one that can navigate disaster zones.

If you compare this model with slightly older models, it does move a little more smoothly but maybe they should wait until it can do something new before releasing a new model for demonstration to make it seem more improved than the last version

ASIMO's way of walking is unusual! Because it is a robot, it will be forgiven, but if a man walks like that, it will flood complaints from people with disabilities!

I saw this robot years ago when I was in between kindergarten and second grade at the Franklin institute on a school field trip. Gave me nightmares 🤦🏾♀️. I just imagine that thing turning on me

Asimo can't do shit it can only do scripted stuff, boston dynamics has superior robots that are WAY beyond going up and down stairs by now...

Regardless, humans don't need a Terminator, they need a Helper. Asimo is designed to be just that. He's become faster, stable and more functional after every model, and another is likely in development
