Hey, thank you for posting this that was helpful. I read about it in the instruction manual and I didn’t quite understand how to put it in but visually seeing it with the video now I totally understand. Thank you.

This is very usefull if the battery of the remote key is dead for some reason, after some years for example...

Great info..but...I've got a 9 number code. Do I need to put in all 9?!

@@gatehanger1385 yeah you definitely have to put in all the numbers and the manual explains how to do it and then there’s also some KZfaq videos that show you how to do it but yeah it’s pretty much for emergencies only. It’s annoying to have to put all the numbers in.

Thx , I'll look further into this . I'm picking up some brake shoes today and I'll ask the staff how I can get that code . A nearby locksmith got hold of the code for my Toyota hiace and fashioned new keys that work the locks better than the old key . Also there's a process for the hiace if idling too fast or slow ....we turn the key from off to start position four times and crank on fourth time . But cranking without the proximity chip a few times I inadvertently discovered so that engine doesn't fire up I found lowers idle speed significantly .

What a great video. I wonder if it works for Honda Clicks or other Keyless bikes.

It appears that it will work on Honda Click and possibly others. I checked the online manual for a 2023 Honda Click and it has the same procedure in the trouble shooting section under 'Unlock the Ignition Switch in an Emergency'. Great question!

Great video. My used bike came with 2 key FOBs, but only one programmed, not both..and 2 plates with code numbers matched first 4 digits but not the last 5, you know how to program it?

Thanks for the kind words! Make sure the key is activated, push the ON/OFF button on the Honda SMART Key, if it is red hold down until green. If it isn't programmed you may have to contact a Honda dealer. The codes on the 2 plates will be different. Good luck

Thank you for your tutorial; it is very clear. However, I've tried to follow it, but no luck-it doesn't work. The button remains stuck in lock mode. I can't turn it, neither with the key next to it nor by entering the emergency code. Do you have any idea how I might be able to unlock it??

If it's not turning with a working key fob, make sure your key is on. Press the 'key' button on the fob and you should see a green light flash. If it is red the fob is off. Hold the 'key' button down until it flashes green and try again. On my 2022 model I have to push the knob in slightly as I turn it to move it from the locked position. You can see at the 2:00 minute mark how I slightly push the knob in as I turn it. I hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 2019 super cub and holding the switch in never initiates anything. I tried a few times and nothing. Any ideas why? (Edit) I found in the manual it says I first need to remove the front battery cover and connect the EM mode coupler to the EM mode connector before it will go in to this mode and accept ID number input.

I bought my 2019 cub used and never got that card with number . I wonder if the number is the same number that is under the seat?? I think I need to use the coupler too.

I just checked the number under the seat and it is not the right number. Perhaps with the vin number I could get a code for my bike. I too need to use the coupler. Just don’t lose the two fobs. One thing I’ve found out is you have to turn off the switch and the fob or the battery will drain. At least I think having the fob on was the problem.
