Last gripe not in the video: why does Honda Canada have all 10 accessories available for purchase but U.S.A. only has 2?!??
They are all OEM coming from the exact same place overseas, why won't you literally just let us buy them and take our money?!
AND the fact that there is an OEM windshield that goes with the optional front rack is proof Honda knows the wind is so bad on this thing. Just make it standard and fold that price into the bike!!

Haha it might be the case and I just don't know yet! 😆 So many good bikes out there, gotta stay humble and try all types, just need to find the $ to do so! 😭

Spin the rack around the other direction

That is a solid idea! I've heard of people literally sawing it off as well lol. Another commenter recommended getting foam and zip tying it to the handle, which is another good solution.

Thanks for sharing your gripes! I find these super informative. Can i ask how tall you are? I wonder if thats a factor in your ergonomic annoyances.

5'6-7, but I don't think height alone is a the main factor for the particular gripes, the bike feels generally made to about my height range. if I was taller the wind might be even worse. If I could have one single change out of everything, it would either A) bike to be physically lighter by roughly 10 lbs. or for it to come with the Zeta Large Windshield standard (Honda has an OEM windshield for the 125 that is only available in Canada, but it is too small and requires the front carrier which I don't think is practical and pointless increases wind resistance and weight

I think the big one for me is the 4 speed tranny. If only they would have added a 5th gear, call it granny low or whatever. Put it on the other side of neutral (all the way down) so it could be just like my old Ford Pickup that had a very low first that you never used unless you needed it. Start out in second. With the neutral between granny low and second (which in its current form would be first) they could have done away with the bogging lack of power starting out going up a steep trail and all the duck wallowing involved. This lack of low end power can't be fixed without sprocket changes and that will hurt top end. The rest of the complaints I can fix with aftermarket.

I agree that would be nice! even if not 5 gears, just but first gear on the other side and just give me three wider gear ranges to work through, it would cut back on having to constantly slap my way throw the lower speed zones.

Passenger pegs. Where does the passenger go?

Hahaha right?! Hard to believe when you get the bike stock but you can get a seat that goes on the rack, but then you need the heat shield and passenger pegs.

I think you just need to get used to it. When I first bought mine, the wind was driving me crazy. After 2k miles, the wind doesn't really bother me. The weight doesn't bother me either. Its so light compared to my crf250. I do agree that the foot rest and shifter could be a little more forward.

Hi, yes! I agree, the wind isn't bothering me as much now, I realized that personally a big part of this is due to the season, now it is summer I don't really notice as much because the air is warming. The cold was killing me in the spring. I actually just made a new video mentioning this and other points, so please do check that one out as well if you like!!

I put a Corbin seat on my CT 125 and it keeps my butt from rubbing the back rack

Nice! Seat customization seems to be the first step a lot of folks take with the Trail 125.

DOT in the US won't let you mount the passenger pegs on the swing arm because it could snap you knees

You got me there!! My goal when purchasing this bike has been met, and for now I don't see getting rid of it, but it may indeed be the case that the best solution is to "add another horse to the stable"!

If you want a motorcycle with wind protection buy a Goldwing
@Niremichi
@Niremichi 3 ай бұрын
True!! The current Goldwing is so awesome... pictures don't do that bike justice. It would be nice if it was 10k cheaper though! 😅 I say it in the video but I just feel for the Trail 125 in particular, due to the unique cub style riding positioning, it's more noticeable than even I thought it might be, even though I knew it was a thing.

A very good point, it is longer on the Trail vs the Super Cub! However this is for functionality because the Trail can ford rivers/go through water. Do you know what the most popular one for the Trail 125 is?
