Honda Transmission Plant.
The plant began producing automatic transmissions for North American-built models in 1996. Previously, from 1989 to 1996, the Anna Engine Plant had produced automatic transmissions for U.S.-built vehicles. HTM expanded its capability to produce high-precision gears in 2006. In 2007, production of rear differentials and transfer cases was added for all-wheel-drive automobiles. The plant began producing CVT transmissions in August 2012. In 2014, it became the first automotive manufacturing facility in the U.S. to obtain a substantial amount of its electricity directly from two wind turbines located on its property.
