Im 40. I just got a vfr800 for me first bike. Im so glad i got it. I was gonna get a vstrom or bandit but settled on a vfr. I recommend it to any new riders...when the vtec kicks in its pretty exciting.

I'm 25 and I have vfr since I was 24 ... maybe I'm old inside but I absolute felt in love with this bike , and I hope to keep it for a long time yet ! Maybe forever.

I've had my VTEC now for 6 years. Got a second hand one a year old and love it. Done the sports bike thing and needed to get more comfort and an all rounder to suit all my needs. This bike finished way above the rest in that category. I get 200 miles on a tank and I get there in comfort. I personally cant fault this bike. I am 47 years old and I know lads in their 20's riding these things for the reasons I do. I go everywhere on it rain or shine and it always delivers.

kaan898 How should that be considered more of a legend than one with the VTEC. Check the first 20 seconds of this video and found out this VTEC version is called legendary.

Got one of these about six years ago & got it up to about 30,000 miles before the ECU started messing about with the fuelling ALMOST CONSTANTLY. By 54,000 I'd exhausted all the cheap fixes I could find on the forums & traded it in...... For exactly the same bike! The plan is to fit a Power Commander before it gets to 30,000miles or just hope the last one was a bad apple. (PS it was still & will always be an epic bike.)

Ya I just got mine in May of 2019, it’s a 2003 in red and surprisingly I’ll smoke most 600s in a straight line race but the weight is an issue if you enjoy backroads.. just feels a little too heavy to push at the same pace as a 600 in the turns.

I'm interested in this for a first (Born again) bike too. What does it handle like?

I say looks are 10 out of 10 and comfort for me is 6 out of 10. But I'm 59 and being hunched over is just no fun.

I'm 33. I decided to get back into riding. Going a sport and the hunched thing is driving me insane lol. Trying to find a middle ground after putting only 1,034 miles on my bike. Saw one of these for sale for 4k with only 5k miles on it. Saw another guy is still using his at 110k miles. I'm considering it.

Maybe a bit harsh on the styling. 8 out of 10 is more like it ;-) i was surprised you gave it 9/10 for performance too. ok there quick but not 9/10 quick. 9/10 quick is a GSXR 750 and the VFR aint gonna match one.

*★*✬* Mark 019208237 *✬*☆* I bought one yesterday as my nc30 died. I had no problem keeping up with my friend who is a mad fucker on his gsxr 750. That was my first time on the bike, and he was the one who knew the mountain roads we were on. Way heavier that a gsxr 750 also. He'd probably get away on a track but that's a different story.

Daniel Madden round the twisties maybe but on the straights the VFR won't keep up with a GSXR 750 if it's full on the throttle but if the GSXR 750 is pre 1996 then maybe it would. You just have to look at the quarter mile run times to see There's a big difference between a VFR 800 and GSXR. Does the VFR do a quarter mile time of 10.9 seconds @130 mph? Not even close and the newer Gixxer 750's are even quicker.

Daniel Madden since leaving my original comment I bought a 1994 ZZR 1100 and it's faster than my ole GSXR 750 srad. There is loads more bottom end and midrange than the srad.

Daniel Madden one day I would love to own a VFR 800 but the only thing is I'm so used to the 1100's power the VFR won't feel as exciting to ride. It's almost 40 hp down on the ZZR 1100 but I would probably enjoy the twisties a lot more and not forgetting that gorgeous sound of the VTEC engine.
