These videos are great! We started OM6 Anc. Civ/ Engl/ Sci in November. With Chr.Light Math/Lang.Arts. OM really offers variety and challenges a student to use their skills in different ways. My daughter loves to draw so she this gives her opportunities to do her learning in an artistic way and it helps me to remember to include art. My son, who before wasn't as interested in drawing, is now wanting to try to improve his art skills. OM has a just the right amount of rigor i have been looking for, even though it includes art. That combination is hard to find. Thank you!

I tried oak meadow civics for my 8th grader and it’s so thorough! She’s learning so much from civic duty to laws and constitutional rights. It’s been great! I look forward what’s next using oak meadow!

I seen the samples for OM 8th grade Civics and I am sooo excited to do this course with her !!! I am so happy it is good !!!! 😊

This really is so encouraging to hear and share in. We are working our way through OM 4th Grade now and I have to say: while our girl legit seems to adore the material/style, *I* continue (and continue) to stumble with the planning aspect. We used OM for Kindy and 1st grade way back when, and I noticed back then that the structure of the guide was really kind of loose for someone like me. And so we trailed off... but we found our way back because, so truly: there is nothing like OM out here. I want to love this program so much and am determined to find my stride with planning. That's where growth comes in for me as the educator, and I am rising for the occasion. Looking ahead in the way you are sharing here serves as fuel- sometimes it's hard to see 'the big picture' when focused on putting all the little pieces together. Thank you for organizing and sharing your thoughts on this- I hope you guys continue to enjoy the adventure!

I loved this review and have to agree with most everything you said. I’m also using Oak Meadow for my 6th grader! I agree with the science too. What did you switch to?

Hi! I love your videos, they are so helpful!!! Our daughters are basically the same exact age, mine turned 12 Jan 14! How did you teach your daughter how to research? Was it included in the oakmeadows curriculum or did you have to supplement your knowledge or another studying/researching curriculum?

Thank you for the wonderful review! My son will be in 6th grade 2024-25 school year and am considering OM. It looks like it's cheaper to purchase the whole package, but the price. Is there a subject(s) you could do w/out from OM? I think I have an idea based on your review, but don't want to assume :o). Will you be sharing what you have been doing for Science? Your daughter's art is beautiful and all you are doing. Can't wait to see the full end of year review.

Thanks for updating us on Oak Meadow! It seems as if you really enjoyed OM as much as Bri. I am going to try OM for 8th grade just the Civics and English, thanks for sharing that their are alternatives to the readers. Some of the readers were the reason I wasn't fully comfortable with switching English. Also, is the link for OM an affiliated link so you can get all your "coins" from my purchase...lol?

Happy New Years! Did you keep Rod and Staff along with oak meadows? We are in the 4th grade doing IEW along with rod and staff 4. We are looking at oak meadow for 5 th grade

It was such a hard decision but we decided to just do Fix it Grammar instead of Rod and Staff 7 after we finished 6. However, we are picking it back up next school year. It is my preferred grammar program. I really love it 😍.

I love her artwork! She definitely has talent! In the past you had mentioned you were using brave writer, IEW, and fix it grammar. Now you are using Oak Meadow and fix it grammar. Was there a reason why you stopped using IEW and Brave Writer? Just curious how they all intertwine with each other and if they are all necessary or if one can really fulfill the others. If that makes sense.

So for English we are doing : OM English, Fix it, and IEW no more Brave writer literature guides . Hopefully with my upcoming planning videos it will explain in detail how I intertwine English for my 6th grader. ❤️

With so much to choose from, how do you choose what to use with your daughters? I’m always 2nd guessing myself and feeling like I should have picked another curriculum before getting that last curriculum. Smh…it’s a mess. Lol

Listen it was so hard to commit to just one curriculum after being more of an eclectic homeschooler. But I am so happy I gave this one a try. I still second guess my choices too lol I don’t think that feeling will ever stop. Lol. My motto now is that I will pick one try it and if it doesn’t work move on with no guilt. 🙌🏽🤣
