Explanation : In the beginning, Jiu looks into the sun (which is something you can't do) and finds out she's in a dream. Gahyeon represents her little sister, sua is chained because she finds out that Jiu is trying to help the rest out of the dream(i forgot the rest of the member's roles). Jiu only had 5 bullets, she shoots the all girls and frees them from the dream but since there's 6 of them she supposedly sacrificed herself so the girls could be free which explains her inside the crystal

gahyeon looks like that because she's supposed to represent jiu's little sister, which explains her cute and loving look

*MV Meaning Explained with Timestamps* : I'm gonna try to do this in the most concise way possible. So the story starts with our 6 girls (cause Handong was still in China during the shooting) living happy and content lives with each other when one day Dami, Siyeon, Sua, Yoohyeon and Gahyeon are taken away leaving JiU alone. (1:37-2:00 is a small glimpse) And yes JiU looking at the sun is a glimpse where she knows they are in a dream. JiU goes to save them and has a gun with the number 5 on it representing her 5 trapped member. She knows that they are placed under the control of a crystal that traps their mind. (4:24-4:40) The individual sets we see are them in their respective mental prisons. Some of them have given in (Dami), some of them aren't responsive (Siyeon and Yoohyeon), SuA is trying to fights and Gahyeon is helpless but hasn't lost hope. (6:08-6:25) JiU places her hand on the crystal and enters into their mental prisons to try and free them. She first reaches Yoohyeon. One by one she gets to all of them and raises the gun. We think she's hurting them but that gun is the way to free them. If we looked carefully before JiU tried to keep a straight face when she freed the other members but when it came to Gahyeon (8:56-9:05) she couldn't help it because of the loving way Gahyeon was looking at her. It wasn't because she was killing Gahyeon but because she knew she wouldn't see Gahyeon again because she was using the last bullet to free her. (9:09-9:40) We see that now that the others are free JiU is trapped in her mental prison which shows her happy with her members but as she reaches for them they disappeared just like before she went to save them. And then we find her back in the corridor on her way to find her members. But she realises that she's the one trapped now. (9:50-10:07) She tries in one last futile attempt to free herself with the gun but they are no more bullets left. She knew that and had willingly sacrificed herself for them. (10:26-10:40) The other members wake up and find JiU trapped in the crystal and they understand what she did to save them. P.S. my delusional mind created a sequel where Handong comes back and saves JiU. Also all the edits were for the timestamps.

Ok but in Deja Vu JiU seems the villain, holding the sword against Yoohyeon, until it's revealed that she's actually innocent; and then in R.o.s.e Blue, JiU once again seems the villain, but in reality she's sacrificing herself for her friends. 😔💖💖

The 5 bullets were the key of the story. They were used to save other 5 members in the fantasy world, but Jiu sacrificed herself by leaving herself in it. The music was perfect for the story if you listen and watch again.

Funny thing too. In the Dreamcatcher's Note behind the scene filming of this video, there is a section where JiU actually says to the camera something along the lines of "I'm saving them, I'm not the bad guy". I don't remember it word for word but she does let everyone know that she isn't trying to hurt them.

This one wasn't composed by Leez and Ollounder which is why it isn't as good as usual. Presumably it was what the game company wanted though and Dreamcatcher did their best with what they were given. The MV is definitely the interesting part of this whole shebang.

I think the story in the MV is that the crystal is what makes the other members dream about their fake realities and JiU saved them by touching the crystal which made her dream about a fake reality too but noticed it so she saved her members but she's short on bullets so she couldn't save herself.

JiU is trying to save the members. They are all stuck in different/alternative worlds, you could say in different dreams, and JiU is the only one who realised it. So she goes in all the members' worlds after touching the crystal and shoots them to bring them back to reality; but she only has 5 bullets... Therefore, when it's time for her to go back, she doesn't have a sixth bullet for herself and remains stuck in the crystal (in the alternative world). So in the end JiU sacrifices herself for the others.

The first time I listened to Rose Blue it didn't really get into me, but as I listen to it more I find it quite addicting~ Especially hearing SuA's high notes~ the MV made it sound better 😆

As the members sitting around the crystal get back to reality, they find jiu in the crystal. This represents her sacrifice and that she is still trapped in the dream

This song wasn't done by their usual team, but it was made by the composer of Girl Cafe Gun. He's a big fan of DC, so working with them was a dream come true for him. Personally, I love it. It's very much in DC's wheelhouse. Plus I'm biased because Sua got the high notes.

If you think about the title, a blue rose signifies True love, associated with the unattainable. That being said, it is better to visualize that the one who is singing the lyrics is specifically Jiu in order to link the lyrics WITH the music video. The story is that there was an alternate world where five of the members were trapped in their nightmares. JiU, the only one that hadn't been trapped in the alternate world, had to go into the members' nightmares and kill each of their tormented selves with one of the five bullets from her gun so that they could be set free. However, in order to do so, she had to sacrifice herself. This in the video relates to the lyrics in which she says "Without any hope, I'm blossoming alone . But I'm not lonely, it's what I chose". In other words, she's not with them anymore but she's happy that they are now free. Another lyrics related to the mv is "I'm the color that remains in your memory. The name that has withered and faded, oh tell me. Promise me a miracle that's only for me. Even if I'm forgotten with the fallen flower petals. That name is still so aromatic. Always remain, rose blue". She's what the others remember HER as, and despite being trapped she hopes one day she will reunite with them.

This is also one of my favorite dc song. I instantly love it. When first time hearing it.

oh the irony in the commentary lol \:D/ jiu is the butterfly that sacrifices itself so the spider can live. yes dreamcatcher's lyrics are abstract but amazing if you break them down and connect them with other songs. going to have to disagree here, rose blue instrumentals are amazing \:D/ and yeah I know it's very different from other dreamcatcher songs so even fans might not like it as much as their other songs. one of their most under-rated songs just like fly high.

It took me a couple times (maybe many times) listen to realize this song is one of my favorite by them and really good song. But I agree with you about the instrumental at first listen.. But if you keep listen again and again, you can find something cool in the instrumental what you didn't catch in the first listen ( maybe just me, but i hope you too 🙂)

I've been a mix engineer for over 25 years, and I really like the mix of this song. But I agree that the version on KZfaq is garbage.

Jiu finds out theyre all in a dream world from the dark powers of the crystal. She touches the crustal to enter the dream world and shoots them to free them from the dark dream. But she doesnt have enough bullets so shes trapped in the crystal, she was freeing them. ik they said this and the deja vu mvs arent connected to dystopia series but personally i believe they are

I think the lyrics fit the MV and the emotional instrumentals. In the MV, JiU sacrificed herself to save her loved ones, but she has to pay a big price. She and the others will never meet again, and I think she's afraid that she will be forgotten. Since there doesn't exist blue roses, I think it's supposed to symbolize that she's one of a kind that they can't find out there in the real world, which probably makes it either harder or easier for them to remember her? Not sure. The lyrics is telling us that we should remember her or at least not to forget her. That's what I think 🤔 Also, I like this song. It's so emotional, and I love the melody in the song 😊 This is random, but why does it show on her gun that she still has 5 bullets left when she aimed for all the members? Editing mistake maybe?

I agree about the mix. It's a different producer (Esti) with a different style, and the instruments could have been done better. It is a matter of taste of course, but I prefer the crisp, non-muffled sound as well.

I have a lot of love for Rose Blue but you can tell the difference in quality. This was not produced by Leez and Ollounder but rather a producer named ESTi who was a fan of the group and wanted them on this project. You might listen to the song on whichever music site you use to see if the audio sounds better to you. Sometimes the compression on KZfaq is really bad. Also, it cracked me up when you thought you were justified about Jiu because she was actually saving them!

Not sure if you are aware, but this song is not produced by their usual duo producer, Leez and Ollounder. It was produced by EsTI, a quite famous japanese music composer, who works on music for Hatsune Miku etc. Maybe that's why the instrumental is abit let down. Btw, spotify version has clearer music instrumental and you can try to compare.

As usual, like your honesty. Personally, "RoSE BLUE" is also by far one of my least favorite song of Dreamcatcher (with "No More"). Like you, I didn't really like the instrumental, but also how it flows, except Dami's part (just in case Dami isn't my bias) and the instrumental bridge but maybe more because of the video at the same time than the song on its own. I really enjoyed the vocals though and it was back in the days one rare MV that let SuA shines with high notes in the chorus. But still I think the song fits in the video game and it was nice to have something new with other producers to appreciate even more the work with LEEZ and Ollounder. Thanks for the reaction!

It jarred me the first few times I listened to it; there's so much going on on, and some of it seems kinda discordant. It's grown on me over time, but it's not one of their masterpieces. But as others have mentioned, this one _wasn't_ produced by Ollounder and Leez, but by ESTi, who does a lot of video game music (which, frankly, is probably why I'm not familiar with him; gamer I ain't). Kind of explains why it doesn't "fit" as well as usual.

This song is actually the only one of their korean songs they've done with a different producer (Esti) and he obviously has a very different approach. I agree the instrumentals sound very muted and somewhat dated so not very Dreamcatcher. I do watch the mv often to appreciate Jiu's acting but the song itself is far from being a fave.

“Deja vu” is a title track from a special mini-album, and “Rose Blue” is just a single. But to be honest, I have the same feeling about this song.
