the time she travelled to was Dec 31 2019, which is the year she released Above the Time, which is directly related to this. The first frame in that MV you can see a calendar where the guy is counting down to Dec 31. Many ppl say this sound of her is liek a musical. it appears for Good Day, Above the Time, You&I and Red Shoes. this is the style that got her famous and now she produces her music so she makes music with simple vibes now, but still elegant

It sounds similar to good day because Good day, You and I, and Red shoes are composed and written by the same people (lee minsoo and Kim eana) so the musicality is similar. You’re right its the old Iu sound

That "191231" is actually the date which is Year 2019, December 31st. And when you check the music video ABOVE THE TIME, you can see the calendar at the beginning and ending that indicates the date "December 31st". She went to the future but failed to be in the same dimension. They are on the same time and same date but in IU's dimension, it is only filled with long nights. So, the guy travelled to her dimension which only worked for a few moment and back to his own dimension with longing and breaking heart.

8:53 actually it's December 31st 2019 the day IU released 'above the time' special clip on her channel. That's because above the time is the continuation for You and I, she finally wrote a happy ending for this love story.

This song was the 1st song I listened in discovering IU 8years ago as her live stage performance sound the same as her vidclip. When 'Above the Time' came out in 2019 I cried knowing how it related to this song. We waited so long! Hope you'll react to her Last Fantasy song, live stage in Japan. Such a dreamy vibe!

I don't remember her age exactly but since "Good day" she was VERY popular in most of ages. So she was called " a sister of All the peaple". I think her songs had similar concepts at that time. Maybe her opinions less added than now, also she was young. I was glad to watch your video!!

actually (like always) there are so many things can be dissected and explained from IU's song, lyrics, and MVs. :D that lyrics is so beautiful and I dare to say it can be interpreted into another set of deeper meaning/explanations, beside what we got from the "story". Oh, and pls dont forget she was 18 years old (international age) back then :D so young ..., that explained the cutesy and a bit childish spin on the song. Anyway, thank you.

좋은날, 너와나 이 두곡은 영화음악처럼 만든곡인데 그래서 스타일이 거의 비슷합니다 . 굉장히 사랑받았던 두 노래이고 IU 의 깜찍한 매력을 잘 표현했던 노래입니다. 지금의 스타일과는 완전 반대이죠 ㅋㅋ 저때는 소속사의 컨셉전략대로 했을 때이고 지금은 온전히 자기 스타일대로 하고있습니다 저때는 자신과 다른 모습으로 연기를 하던 때이고 성인이 된 이후부터는 자신의 이야기를 노래하고 있어서 훨씬 표정이나 가사나 노래들이 자연스럽죠 한국에서는 그냥 IU의 모든것이 사랑스럽습니다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그나저나 눈썰미가 굉장히 좋으시네요 표정의 다름까지 분석하시다니..

I love IU she's an amazing vocalist. I recently came across an amazing male soloist Park Hyo Shin, his vocals are no joke.
