Jonghyun is the real vocal king of the industry. The difference with him is the passion he has for singing and performing a song. He was Taemin's early vocal coach and some exo members. The song was a remake, SM bought the song originaly sang in Spanish by Alejandro Sanz. He listened to Jonghyun's version and even shared it on his Twitter. This song is so emotional. It's not my favourite SHINee ballad (I already listened a lot to the original in my childhood so it was a little spoiled for me), but Jonghyun did an AMAZING job singing it with a lot of passion on top of his amazing vocals. Thanks for keep reacting to SHINee, they have a lot of great songs and live performances! Edit: I change the word cover for remake. Someone told me a cover is only when is a translation or original lyrics, and this is not the case. Korean lyrics have a different meaning. So it was my bad! The music is the same and they wrote other lyrics for the song that belongs to SHINee's first full album. I rather never write another comment on my life 😅 I have been a Shawol for + 8 years and I read and watched a lot of things of SHINee. I love the 5 of them and they're my favourite group on the world. he is not my bias in shinee (it's actually key) but for me, he has the best and most mature solo off all of them, might be BCS he was so deeply involved in every single part of his songs and albums, composing producing, and writing the songs. He really knew how to work with his own voice through his music, a truly exceptional artist. You should really check out his work She is, it's very contemporary and for me personally the most shinee-esk album of his.

Didn't expect another SHINee reaction so soon. I'm happy you reacted to Jonghyun. This was the first song I listened by him last year and I was in love from that moment. He and Taemin's have become my favourite artists. I absolutely adore Jonghyun's music and the emotions he shows in many of his songs and performances, he has such a powerful voice and he was so talented, he wrote and composed almost all of his solo songs. I hope you know more about the relationship between Taemin and Jonghyun. To know Taemin's musical growth process, you need to understand the relationship between the two. Jonghyun was a person who could look into Taemin's mind like a mirror. He treated Taemin like his real brother, but he also deeply respected him as a colleague. Actually, you have heard one of his solo work before on this channel. IU covered his song, Before Our Spring, on her Sloppy Live for christmas. It was the last song. The very emotional one.

Jonghyun's song is a cover/rewrite of Alejandro Sanz's "Y si fuera Ella." so most people just call it by its original Spanish title, but Jonghyun's version is called "Hyeya" or"Haeya". Haeya is the girl's name (which I understand translates to "her" or "she") that Jonghyun is singing about that is why it's the only word in the English lyrics that isn't translated because there isn't a translation, it's a name. Jonghyun heard the Spanish song and he and his manager loved it so much that Jonghyun had to make it his own by translating and reworking it into Korean and changing it slightly to make it fit his vision of what the song's message was about. This was one of Jonghyun's most epic and iconic performances of this song. And it will forever be a symbol of what made him such a great artist. In the performance the explosion you heard was not a gunshot, but it was his heart exploding. He felt so passionately about the girl that his heart literally exploded. The song is about how the girl, Haeya, left him and he is in pain because she is no longer with him. The whole song is him begging her to come back to him. He loves her so much that he is dying from the pain of being seperated from her, etc. This was Jonghyun's very first solo single and he was only 18 when this song was first released -- only a few months after SHINee's debut in 2008 -- so this just goes to show you how amazing of an artist he really was. (This specific performance was at their SHINee World Concert II (SWC2) in Seoul in 2012, so he is about 22 here.) His mastery of singing, emotion and stage presence is awe inspiring. If he was this good so early in his career, just imagine what he was like after more than 10 years in the industry. As the main vocalist of SHINee, Jonghyun is known as one of the best singers in the industry. And SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are one of the most well rounded groups in Kpop that excel at every aspect of the entertainment industry. And everyone looks up to them. They are considered Idols' Idols. I see that in music affinities are important. It surprises me that this song/performance did not cause a big impact to Aaron. I know very well the original song by Alejandro Sanz and I enjoyed it a lot in the 90's; however, when I listened to Jonghyun's version, I got goosebumps and cried at the end. I still get goosebumps whenever I watch that video (I can't imagine how I would feel if I listened live) and sometimes I cry again. Jonghyun delivers to me all the feelings he pours in his performances. I would have loved listening to him singing live.

This song used Alejandro Sanz original melody of Y si fuera Ella. SM bought the song and Kenzie who had written several songs for SHINee and other SM groups wrote the lyrics that are completely different that the Spanish original version. Alejandro Sanz was so impressed by Jonghyun cover that he shared it on his social media accounts twice.

First of all, thank you for reacting to Jonghyun, he deserves all the recognition. You may get less views or comments because some people still find it hard to view anything with him in it so please don't take having less views as some other kind of meaning. This was one of his first solos and while it is good, it's not a representative of what kind of music he more recently did. Please continue and discover his discography - they range from funky to sentimental to very very.... should I say, reflective. He is regarded as a very intellectual and musical artist who's written many songs for himself as well as other singers and also dabbled in novel writing - his novel Skull Flower is quite personal to him if you ever want to see a different side of him as well. Anyway, I'm going off on a tangent but I just wanted to say I appreciate you for loving Shinee and all of the members! They really are some talented and wonderful human beings.

Also let's keep in mind; this was his first solo song and it was released as a part of SHINee's first album. How often does a member of a group (much less one that's 18) get to release a solo song on their group album? Hardly ever but that's also what makes him special; everyone knew how talented he was even before debut.

no hate to you or anything and thank you for the reactions and thanks to the shawols who keep wanting & wishing for him to start like shinee & rest of the members, but I have to say it's clear that he doesn't like their group music nor their solo stuff/he only likes taemin vocal tone and some of the solo work he heard from him, but I wish fans don't try to make him react to think not only uninterested but uncomfortable to watch because with every shinee related reaction I can feel the awkwardness and lack of interest which is hard to watch and why I tend to avoid watching his reactions to them. not hate or anything and it's okay really if their voices & their music aren't something you are interested in after all music is a matter of preferences

This song does not represent Jonghyun’s solo work at all! His discography is so much more than this song or even his title tracks. To get a true picture of who he was as an artist you would have to dive into his B-sides. I recommend Mono- Drama, Moon, 2:34, and Grease. P.S. and this is by no means an attack. I write it “honestly” in the same way that you give us your “honest” reactions. We can all tell you don’t like Jjong’s voice, just say it. It’s ok. We can also tell you’re heavily biased toward Taemin when you do your Shinee reactions. I always tread carefully with your Shinee reactions because of it. I write this last part mostly for the benefit of those who are watching and have yet to discover Shinee on their own.

Nowadays, I often hear Taemin using the same vocal techniques as Jong and now Taemin sings all the difficult parts of Jong at SHINee's concerts. This song isn't something you need to add to your playlist. It was admired for the emotional performance that Jonghyun delivered. It is considered one of the top idol solo stages. Maybe you should read the comments to understand the context. It's the same reason people recommend watching Shinee's videos in order. It's literally an evolution. The beauty is missed when you jump around to random tracks because you don't see the progression

Why do I feel like he does not like SHINee at all other than Taemin. He didn't even bother to read the lyrics, i'm so disappointed :( It's ok to not like them, but man.....you missed out great by not understanding what he was singing about. I can understand korean and this was the most devastating performance, in terms on emotion, that I had heard in a long time.

jong had a lot of influence on singers in sm. as everyone said, he trained taemin when taemin used to think he was tone deaf and he's always been one to praise and teach singers in sm who aren't known for their singing or aren't as advanced. for example, he's rlly close to rv members specifically yeri, he inspired her to learn how to write lyrics compose and gave her confidence in her singing, same with irene, when they went on knowing bros, he's always been someone to tell ppl about her vocals rather than everyone knowign her only for her visuals. he's obv rlly close to taeyeon, as well as other singers in soshi like yoona, sooyoung, hyo who are all not known for their singing but jonghyun gives them confidence. he's super sweet inspirational and a musical genius who passed too early therefore i would love it if you reacted to shinee as well as his solo stuff! his music has a lot of emotion, both in his lyrics and in his singing, he rlly is an artist who spoke through his art.

Objectively, he’s one of those singers with the widest and highest vocal range. He has a naturally beautiful tone, but he likes to experiment and was versatile in using his voice.

They tried to translate the lyrics but I think that they could not capture the playful nature, probably because of cultural differences, so they wrote new lyrics.Alejandro Sans praised this performance enormously. Jonghyun's voice always holds a place in my heart. I know that I would have cried my heart out seeing him perform.

To me personally and honestly, no group can beat SHINee. As a whole group they are on another level, they'll be my number one always. But individually, Taemin's voice still enchanted me the most...I kinda get into Onew's lately though.

He was the one that got me interested in kpop. I first saw him and Shinee in 2008. His voice grabbed me and never let me go. He was and still is my only bias. My heart still cries with every note he sings here. Angel, you did well. You will always be with us.

If you check out more and more of Jonghyun maybe you’ll notice there’s something from him that is really similiar with Taemin in singing, that’s their vocal technique. Other than SM vocal coach, actually Jonghyun was the one who taught Taemin a lot to improve his vocal skills. I think that’s also one of the reason why most Jonghyun’s part is taken by Taemin (and Onew) now. Their voice is different but if you listen more often you’ll see it by yourself why. But honestly all of SHINee members are really talented and great in singing. Jonghyun was, is and will always be a legend for the Koreab industry.
