I dont really get why the people hating on this song saying its not "japanese" song at all. Like ADOR as usual is taking risks. Its a song in 3 language, a japanese debut is NOT ALWAYS required to be a full japanese language lyrics. You may say that the song have few japanese lyrics but thats the risk they are taking, the japanese people themselves can hate it that way but no, it charted #1 on a lot of japanese biggest streaming platforms and its also the highest charting japanese debut in melon history. ADOR have been experimenting and taking risks since NewJeans debut and people just comfortably forgetting that, like these y2k style from the beginning can be a big mess and a flop since we all know what kpop is before NewJeans debut but taking risks like this is such a classic ADOR style. People just think because its a success means there's no risk behind it. Some other fandom stans are maybe just mad their favs haven't think of doing this first but a lot of groups are taking notes and we would see a lot of jp debut with maybe same 3 languages lyrics but the question is will it work.

No literally, by that logic every Kpop song with English isn’t Kpop and every Jpop song with English isn’t Jpop. We’re definitely going to start seeing other groups incorporate this and start making OG songs with other languages for Japan instead of just translating a few of their old songs to Japanese. In kpop there’s always been the first person/group to take a risk and open a door for other groups and I’m glad NewJeans did it with their Japanese debut. (First in their Gen idk bout other gens)

And with your logic even just one sentence of japanese in a korean with english song is considered Jpop. @@orangutang5900 what are you talking about? These two NewJeans songs have a lot more than a sentence of each language. Okay so it has three languages what would you prefer to call it? This can’t be called Jpop but songs that are fully English released by Kpop groups are called Kpop and songs that are half and half of English and Japanese released by 3rd gen idols are called Jpop but trilingual is where we draw the line lol.

I’ve been missed 90‘s music so much. For me this song is dope and they’re just slay. I understand this song is not for everyone but they proof it they can be the top with different type of song as the other female idols and unique in a good way. Their vibes, performance, all of outfits no one can’t beat them so far I think.

They really went all out for this Japanese debut. This is their highest budgeted MV to date. And Minji is credited as one of the writers as well! She's pretty fluent in Japanese so I'm thinking she may have written those parts.

@@teemo5884 Which info? About Minji credited as a cowriter? It's in all the credits as well as the cd credits. All the members have contributed to lyrics in various songs except for Hyein, for now at least. I'm sure she'll be credited soon, she's so talented.

I'm American and grew up in the 80's, and this song absolutely nails this era of R&B into the 90's. To learn more, check out songs produced by Teddy Riley and MV's from the era. The style of the video, the style of their clothes and the dance routine are spot on!

@@jastme0102 No one is saying he should like he song tho(?) im also confused bcs its the first person saying this doesnt sound nj when the vocal technique is the same, the only difference is this is 80-90 but with a extremely modern touch. Ppl assumes they only did y2k but they have always being into nostalgic sounds -How sweet also sounds very 80-90 hiphop instead of classic y2k R&B-. you could say the same about "Cool with you" not sounding new jeans bcs its not straight R&B, but it IS nj vibes and concept still. They do experiment a lot.

Hope everyone remain respectfuls but Im also surprised by the "this doesnt sound nj" when... It is pretty much their vibe. They do experiment a lot with genres, starting with 2000s R&B and now going straight into 80-90s new jack sing/city pop. This is NewJeans most experimental song tho, so I get some ppl getting confused, but since HowSweet they started experimenting more with hiphop so idk why is this surprising especially when it is THEIR JAPANESE DEBUT and they love this city pop vibe...

10:27 No، before this part some words were sung in Japanese too, and this is something that also happened with “right now.” There were some words in Japanese as well, and this is not the first time in kpop that there has been a song in three languages (Japanese, Korean, and English). There is also “Breaking Down” by The Boyz, which was also in three languages, mostly in Korean.

Well... it's true that it's a Japanese debut album... but as you can see, there's only a little bit of Japanese in it, like the toppings sprinkled on donuts, so it's a situation that even locals in Japan are shocked at. In fact, this is interesting because it is the sentiment that Koreans always felt while listening to New Genes' songs, which have a high proportion of English. LOL... Korean, English, and now Japanese are all mixed together, making it difficult for anyone from the three countries to fully understand ^^a

It seems like the main theme of the song is to have three different languages, but honestly, I don't see that as a big highlight. The beat doesn't seem to go anywhere and it's not catchy... always very well produced, but I'm not sure if they nailed it this time.
