If you actually listen to The Story of Light Trilogy album title tracks IN ORDER you would understand that Countless is for the fans who stood by them thoughout what happened and stayed by their side as they were healing. It wasn't an easy journey, each member dealt with grieving differently and true shawols were patient and never forced the members to open up if they're not ready yet.

It's a title track for The Story of Light: Epilogue, which is the repackage for The Story of Light, which was a 3-part album with 3 title tracks: Good Evening, I Want You and Our Page. If you decide to react to those songs, I recommend going in the chronological order, since they tell a story of them dealing with Jonghyun's passing, though only the last of them, Our Page, does it directly.

If I remember correctly, SM dropped this MV with no teaser, no promotions at all, right? It took Shawols by surprise. I see it as a goodbye for now content for their fans before Onew, Key and Minho left for the military. So... To me.. This song, this MV have a deeper meaning as a Shawol

Shinee is a experimental group over the years they have done a lot of different kinds of styles sometimes combining them so I don’t fault you for not liking a song I actually really appreciate your honesty even If i don’t agree with it (with dif songs you’ve reacted to of courseI) I love shinee and their discography the last album was honestly amazing, I’m sure you will find something you like and somethings you don’t and that’s ok music is very subjective anyways. Aaron, I really recommend SHINee's View as a reaction. Its from 2015 and Jonghyun wrote the song thinking about the best way to place the different vocal style of each member and used synaesthetic images in the lyrics. 'View' introduced Deep House in Kpop and even to this day, it is a song that is very popular in Korea. I think it's a song that you are going to like a lot, it doesn't have that old kpop style that you don't usually like. Speaking of View, I highly recommend the album 'Odd', where the song is from. And thank you so much for your reaction and your honest opinion as always!

You were right, you can say it wasn’t really a title track - Countless was released as an epilogue to The Story Of Light album (which was a trilogy with 3 tracks promoting each part of the album) and it was like their thank you to all their fans who stayed with them throughout a darkest times… So yeah, the sets of the video are not very elaborate and they don’t change their clothes and use a lot of different stylings, cause that was not the point. Also that’s the reason why the song has much lighter mood. I personally enjoy it a lot, especially on a summer day. Plus I always love their vocals, so it’s a very pleasant listen to me. I was only able to properly listen to this trilogy this year. The songs build a story and it’s really beautiful. For this I recommend watching them in the chronological order of release

Onew was the first to went in the military, then Key, Minho and Taemin, but yeah, this was the last comeback as a group that they had. Then they got into a hiatus and some of them did solo work right before join the army. So, on that time, Key wasn't the last one, it was Minho. Also, Countless was an epilogue song for the series "The Story of Light" which has 3 EPS and 3 mvs: Good Evening, I Want You and Our page.

Actually, this was the last MV for their TSOL album. It basically had no promotions beforehand and was released unexpectedly. The other 3 MVs had a better production quality. You’re right, this was sort of like a farewell comeback for the group. It’s the last song before Onew, Key, and Minho enlisted (they all enlisted within months of each other). And Shawols like to think of this album series as a formal goodbye to Jonghyun (even though it really isn’t goodbye and he’s still here watching over the rest of them). The 4 title tracks (Good Evening-> I Want You -> Our Page -> Countless) tells the story of Shinee and how they coped with and accepted the loss of him, almost like the 5 stages of grief in a more condensed version. It’s really beautiful, both the MV production as well as the lyrics. And of course the entire album is a stunning masterpiece.

Going in reverse chronological order makes sense, but I would suggest reacting to the rest of the 2018 singles in order of release (Good Evening" --> "I Want You" --> "Our Page") if only because the context behind the release is very special to say the least. And yeah, Countless is an epilogue and more of a gift to the fans than a 'real' comeback.

Yes it's multi title track release album actually....story of light ep 1,2 & 3 ...all dedicated to jonghyun...it's very meaningful for them as well as for shinee world....I hope you like their other songs....I'll suggest something to please start with their live performances side by side ( for example. Excuse me miss) it will help you 🙏...because they are known for their live performances and vocals in whole kpop industry 🙏🙏

The first time I heard Countless I kind of ignore it. And then when I listened to it again after sometime time, I thought hmm... this is nice. When I fell in love with SHINee's song Romeo and Juliet, with all its adlibs and background vocals and harmonies, that's when I realized how awesome this song is. Now it's one of my favorite SHINee songs.

thank you so much for a SHINee reaction so in 2018 they released 4 MVs. their 'The Story of Light' (2018) album is a trilogy that includes 3 EPs, for each EP there is an MV. Countless I believe was the title track of the full repackage The story of light album, which contains all the 3 EPs. and also I strongly recommend to watch their MVs from 2018 in the same order how they were released. Good Evening -> I want you -> Our Page. this era was very special for SHINee and for the fans. it was a healing journey that they went through together, and a time to honor Jonghyun and reminisce all the memories they shared in all the past years. it was really hard for them and for the fans, but they decided to continue because of the promise they made with shawols, because of Jonghyun and because they are not just colleagues but brothers to each other and their bond is very strong. the videos, music and the whole TSOL album are very, very beautiful and high-quality. after TSOL era I recommend you to start with View and then go in a release order. all the MVs and title tracks since View are great. they released their best albums in my opinion since they gained musical and creative freedom in 2015, which absolutely don't have this 'old k-pop sound'. the members themselves have said that they 'found SHINee with that song' (about View) their b-sides especially are amazing and so well-produced. actually all of my favorite songs by them are b-sides.

Actually, in this lyrics, they’re keep counting 1,2,3 Or Ga, NA, Da, Ra(Korean ABC) For example In verse1, 한 반을 다가서면 (한=1) 두 발 물러서고 (두=2) 셋을 주고 나면 (셋=3) 넷을 기대하고 (넷=4) In verse 2, 가슴이 두근대면 (가=Ga) 나의 손을 잡고 (나=Na) 다리가 떨려오면 (다=Da) 라디오를 켜고 (라=Ra) The lyrics are so creative and I love this song so much :3

Yeah SHINee!!!! If you are not a fan of older Kpop sound, i suggest you to watch their live performance at the concert! For example, a lot of new fans find it hard to listen to Ring Ding Dong or Lucifer due to its heavy auto tune(back then it was the thing lol). but if you watch their Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer live performance at the concert, i am pretty sure it will blow your mind and you would agree to the fact that those songs are bobs. Likewise, Sherlock, Everybody…in order to know the true value of SHINee’s crafts, you need to watch their live performances at the concert!

You should listen in order from this album so you would understand, even actually this is a very minimal album despite all of the SHINee discography but yet a very meaningful album for SHINee and the fans after what've happen in 2017. "Countless" is the epilogue track on SHINee's repackaged The Story of Light album from 2018 and this album is part of their 10th anniversary celebrations. "Good Evening," "I Want You" "Our Page" and "Countless" are all part of a trilogy of albums that make up The Story of Light, and the stories in the songs and MVs connect. This album was their first comeback after Jonghyun died, so that is why this was such a poignant time in SHINee's history and why it is so important to fans. "Countless" also was SHINee's last group comeback before Onew, Key and Minho went off to serve in the military. So, this album is all about Jonghyun and every song has something to do with what they went through in the 6 months leading up to this album release, etc. "Good Evening" is about SHINee's grieving process and the way the public sees them. "I Want You" Is about learning to find happiness again and how they are personally dealing with everything that happened and "Our Page" is the members telling their story and what they want the world to know about them as a group and what they will remember and miss the most about Jonghyun, etc. And "Countless" is showing how SHINee has now come out on the other side and is now ready to start to move on. Blue flowers, when equated with a message usually stand for love and inspiration, and when presenting someone with blue flowers you are telling them you will stay loyal and passionate about them. In "Countless" I see SHINee presenting blue flowers to use Shawols saying, they are promising to stay true and loyal to use and to keep the passion they have as a group alive -- they are promising to keep on working hard to give us their best. Which is fitting because "Countless" was the song that helped to bring their message in their Story of Light album to a close and showed us that they will continue on and work even harder to continue theirs and Jonghyun's legacy, etc. Plus, pearl aqua blue/green, is SHINee's fan color so there are always blue images and blue colors in their MVs. Blue has a lot of important messages when it comes to SHINee. Taemin's style of singing, especially in SHINee songs, is a lot like Jonghyun. And as you will see with their songs, such as "Why So Serious?," Taemin fills in for Jonghyun whenever Jonghyun was unable to participate in a performance. And even today, Taemin often takes over the high notes and the parts that I think would probably have been Jonghyun's parts in their new songs, as you hear with "Countless." Jonghyun was the one that really took Taemin under his wing and helped him to become the singer that he is today. So, many think that Taemin's voice emulates Jonghyun because he is the one that taught Taemin to sing. Jonghyun always has been Taemin's biggest supporter and the one that rooted for him the hardest and loudest out of anyone.

As a shawol im not a very big fan of shinee's title songs, but we can see how diverse their range of genre in every comeback and how capable they are to come up with new sounds. As for the story of light series, a dedication albums for jonghyun; i think we are all OK with any song any concept they released tbh we are just glad they comeback stronger. And i know this is the beginning of your shinee journey and you tried to watch their tt first, but i hope you also going thru their b-side tracks because they are very well-known for having awesome discography. thanks for your reaction to shinee, regarding the album it was a different album since it was when they came back from their break; after jonghyun that happened in 2017 and this album was a bit inspired by him as a farewell, since They included the song "our page" that talks about the history of shinee and everything they lived since it mentions the anniversary date in the song and on the cover of the album that were designed so that when joined together they appear 5 foxes represented as shinee 5 this album as well as its songs were very symbolic. since it cost the group to recover after the loss of jonghyun and even in the midst of criticism since many in a certain way like shinee did not expose their pain and spoke openly about what happened, they criticized the members saying that they only used what happened jonghyun as something commercial, among other things. This album was like a farewell for them and that is why you will see that several mv of this album such as our page, Good Evening, I Want You and countless connects, you can see the shadow of jonghyun or a fox in the mv

I really love how you go into details about their vocal layering and still appreciate their voice tones even if the song isn't your favorite. Thanks Aaron for this reaction. 😌 SHINee have really a lot of great songs. Countless is a good song, but I admit that it's not my favorite one from this album. About old SHINee songs, if I take into account what your musical tastes are, unfortunately, I don't think you will like Love by oxygen, dream girl, Juliette, Everybody, lucifer and ring ding dong. But, I honestly think you should like Replay. Of course, It has some old music instrumental, but there's something different about this song. It's really special and very appreciable. Tbh, I'm not a fan of old songs either, really not. The only three olds songs from SHINee that I really like are Replay, Sherlock and Hello. Tbh, I mainly prefer their b-sides. 😌 I recommend you "Our page", it's one of the last MVs they made and this song is a tribute to JongHyun, the lyrics are touching and the music is beautiful.

Oh! Even though I love Shinne very much, I hadn't heard much of the post-2017 songs, I'm pretty new to the music of this great group just like you, I hope to learn together. Countless is neither B side track nor promotional track. It was a ‘title’ track but wasn’t actually promoted. In 2018, SHINee came out with a total of 4 albums in their Story of Light series, the first three had 5 songs each, the last one had 16 (all the songs from the first three combined, plus Countless -the only new song added). It was an emotional journey - first time to promote physically as four member, it was the groups’s 10 year anniversary and last album(s) before three of the members’ enlistment. (The enlistment order was Onew-Key-Minho) I recommend reacting the 2018 releases in order: Good Evening, I Want You, then Our Page. Though I’m not entirely sure that the impression/ interpretation ppl have about these releases is universal. Maybe those of us who watched it back then interpreted things in a particular way because of our feelings at the time. I wonder if those who watched it in the present time may have different interpretation/impression.

I confess one of the reasons I like this music so much is actually listening to Minho singing. Not rapping, not backing, but really singing and his low voice is really soothing. They all have unique voices and to me Minho's voice acts like a glue bonding them all together when they harmonize. I really wish he had more solo works besides I'm home cuz I really like his singing voice.

I must join the chorus in the comments telling you to react to The Story of Light MVs in chronological order; otherwise, you'll be missing the story of their healing process after losing Jonghyun. As for the military, the three oldest enlisted close to each other (between december 2018 and april 2019), which resulted in enough time all together (after Minho returned in november 2020) to have this year's comeback before Taemin's enlistment. It was just perfect, because it introduced them to a lot of people after such a long hiatus, yourself included.

As a shawol I think it’s all about the journey, it doesn’t matter how you listen and where you start, you will get there eventually although SHINee’s discography is HUGE. SHINee is an experimental group and they even have songs they don’t like so that’s totally normal. 3 songs you listened to so far do not represent their entire music so i am confused why some people are already judging.
