This song was made in 3 days because Taemin stomped his foot down while SM was trying to push him into releasing a repackaged album without any new song and he wouldn't have it, so he made this as a gift for us. Btw the lyrics don't have any deep meaning to him personally, he sort of wrote it like a fictional story while on the plane. He also did a last minute choreo that wasn't ready at the time of the MV.

It's a song that he made it very quickly. This song was double song with "Move" at the time in 2017. Originally there were other song already However, he wanted to present a new song to fans, so as far as I know, it was a song he wrote in a hurry just before the stage. So there's no dance in the music video. And also MV was made in a hurry too. He made the choreography later. Aw, you should see the stage of this! The choreography is so pretty! The choreography was also made in a hurry, so the choreography is a little different when comparing the early stage and the later stage. Cuz He kept revising the choreography. It's a very meaningful song!

"Day and Night" was wrote and composed, and even choreographed by Taemin. When Taemin was selecting songs for this album, he didn't really like any of the songs SM was suggesting for him, so he decided to write a song himself. And "Day and Night" is what he came up with. He happened to be in the middle of a concert tour at this time as well, so he didn't have a whole lot of time to work on the choreography either. However, because it's Taemin, he just decided to wing it, and if you watch several live performances of "Day and Night" you will see that the choreography changes almost every time he performed it. He was still working on the choreography during filming of the MV and even during promotions for the song, so he was continuously tweaking and changing parts of the dance during each performance. I am not sure if he ever actually finalized the choreography.

Aaron, I recommend you can listen to Taemin's song called "snow flower". It's melody and lyrics are very beautiful. Taemin ever said he wants to sing the song with his fans at the end of his concert. You can listen to it. I hope you will like it.

It's one of my favourite Taemin's songs. It's interesting that the songs that he had a part in writing usually have this calm, melancholic and intimate vibe. I didn't like the MV at the beginning. I wished it was more like his stage performances of this song, which are great and have beautiful choreography, but now it is one of my favourite Taemin MVs. So simple yet so pretty.

The story of how he made this song is really cool! It was for MOVE’s repackage album and SM wanted him to recycle a song from Move as the title track but taemin refused and came up with this song within a WEEK while he was actually in japan for a concert. He told on a radioshow how he hummed the melody into his phone and sent it to a composer friend who can revise it until he’s back in korea while taemin was already writing the lyrics. And back in korea he quickly went to jeju to film those aesthetic shots because there were only like three days left and in the meanwhile he already made the choreo but he kept changing it a bit during every music show performance because he was still adjusting it. He said he did it in spite of his company 😂

Thank you for the reaction! I never really thought of Day&Night as an upbeat song so I really connected to the sadness conveyed in the MV and the instrumentals. The live stage is so beautiful for this one, he made two different choreos over night and they’re so unique

If I remember correctly, he shot this video really quickly. I think he flew to Jeju to shoot it in between his busy schedule. I believed he didn’t even have any choreography yet when he did this, which he said benefitted him since he didn’t have to do so many takes to synchronise with his dancers (unlike in Move). I think this is the only song he promoted where he isn’t dancing.

The live stages are beautiful too. I believe he learned he would be performing this song while in transit so he choreographed it in a hurry on the plane 💜 His hair and attitude create a whole mood. I like the version where he ends up on the floor/ground. The mv here is lovely and reminds me of how much Taemin loves nature. Thank you for sharing your reactions, Aaron.

Thank you for this reaction. 😌 Personally, I'm not a fan of "Day and Night", but I loved his voice and the lyrics. On the other hand, Aaron, when you will react to "Think of you", the MV is quite fun and cute, but the lyrics are quite sad, so maybe you won't find that the MV will go well with this song as well, but it's really good.
