I was really on the fence about buying one of these (a big 5-piece sectional) and think I am finally deciding not to for many of the reasons you've talked about, such as the overall "frumpy" camping chair/futon vibe as well as the cost for what you're actually getting. I appreciate your honesty and especially the comparison to a similarly priced couch from somewhere like Ashley that is a common, affordable furniture store.

Thank you. That's what I kept saying...they look like glorified camping chairs. You've convinced me that this isn't for me....more so because if the covers move that much...my boys are gonna make this couch look like something I found on the curb...and at that price point. No thank you.

So something like the Ashley sofa won’t work - so I’m thinking this might be a good sofa, the extra cost may be worth it because it can be washed completely if needed. Thak you for your review. I've been considering purchasing this primarily since it is an afordable non toxic couch and it looks nice. Did you get the relaxed or deluxe blend cushions? And do they hold their shape? Also, does it seem like a small pet could get hurt from the bars if they try to rub against the bottom of couch?

I am wondering if ypu could feel the bars if you sat on the crack between 2 cushions. Like if you had 3 people on that couch.

Charging $2k-$12k for something designed this way, is absolute robbery. Someone needs to file an antitrust suit against these people for charging that much to manufacture and sell a folding camp-chair couch. Absolutely unreal.

I ordered this before I saw this video. The biggest disappointment for me is that the slipcovers slip on the frame SO MUCH!! It's so hard to keep it looking straight and nice! I wish I could return it! Anybody know any hacks on how to keep the slipcovers straight?

Velvet would have crushed after a few uses. I definitely like the “washable” idea

Ashley furniture held together with staples. Will not last especially if you are heavier. Anabei is the most sturdy I’ve ever had.
