On our way to a transatlantic cruise with the Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas, we tried this airline to fly from Hamburg to Miami. Hi Morgan, they served unsalted peanuts because salt can cause your body to retain fluid, which can cause swollen ankles and dehydration, especially on long flights.

"Just a Polish airline that nobody knows about"? Let me rectify you. LOT is actually one of the OLDEST airlines in the world, it's been flying around 100 years now. I've flown with them several times and their fleet, service and amenities are all top notch compared to many other airlines.

I have traveled from NY to Warsaw on LOT Airlines over 500 times transporting patients back to Poland (I'm a nurse practitioner) and I absolutely love this airline... very accommodating flight crew...in my opinion it's one of the best.

We flew LOT when adopting our first son ages ago (1998) and it remains one of our favorite and most memorable flights. While the plane was older and a bit run down, the crew were exceptional and so kind to a couple of new parents from America and our then 10 month old.

My husband was on a cross country flight years ago and when it came to "meal time" the flight attendant said to him "oh, your meal is in the back - let me grab it" He was served something much better than the standard meal and his seatmate (no middle seat on this flight) asked how he got that meal. He said "oh, I ordered the kosher meal". The rest of the flight, this guy kept looking at him like "you don't look Jewish" - which he's not but there is no religious requirement to ordering a kosher meal. 🙂

I love these travel day videos. It really helps take the anxiety to a much lower level for me when I know what to expect. You were so lucky to have an empty "middle seat"! We never get that. I hope your next video will give details on your choice and price of transportation from Miami airport to your accommodations. I love that you give honest reviews. Few vloggers do these days.

On a recent flight from Anchorage to Seattle the middle seat was empty in my row on an otherwise full flight. When I went to use the restroom all I could think about was you and your many visits to the restroom when you had the food poisoning. I don't know how one would go about throwing up in that small space. But I guess you figure it out when it's necessary! Glad LOT turned out to be good for you guys..

Just did a short haul Embreaer 190 flight with LOT from Barcelona to Warsaw. I pre-ordered a cheese plate. The flight was very nice!

Glad that you had a good experience on LOT and if I have a chance to fly them I will not hesitate. I recently flew in the middle seat for the first time and it was not nearly as bad as I expected either.

I flew with LOT about a month ago from Chicago in premium economy, and that was a very decent experience. The PE configuration is 2 - 3 - 2, so there is a one "middle seat" in every row!

We flew on a United 787 from Washington Dulles to Beijing a few years ago. 14 1/2 hour flight. I was in a left side window seat. We flew straight north to just east of the North Pole and then due south into Beijing. The sun was in my face for literally the entire flight. Since the window could only be tinted, I wore sunglasses the whole flight. It might have been better had I been in a “middle seat”. Nope, don’t think so. Lol! Great video as always!

I never book a middle seat, but I was given one last year when I changed to a different flight on standby. When I got to the seat row, the lady at window offered me her seat, and she sat in the middle next to her husband on the aisle. Window is my favorite. I did not get an ad.

Considering so many airlines recently are earning reputations for increased fares with all kinds of additional fees, decreased amenities such as free non-alcoholic drinks & snacks, shrinking leg room (and I am only 5'2") & seat size, noticeably dirtier cabins & washrooms, and ever larger percentages of grumpy, disinterested, or disgruntled cabin crew, it is lovely to hear of someone having an acceptably pleasant, non-delayed, early arrival flight with a few old style perks still on offer. Whether I was or not, I too would have been surprised by unsalted nuts, and would applaude the food for being identifiable as well as edible (another rarity these days). What a very different experience this was from your last flight... the very thought of which still gives me nightmares. Great info, enjoyably & clearly presented.... well done as always.

Will keep this airline in mind for my next trip to Europe. I am flying on Emirates for the first time in May (16 hours from LAX!) and am really hoping the middle seat is open for that long haul. Can't wait to see the video on your place in Brickell.

When booking a seat I always try to get either a window or aisle row seat. The middle seat is my least favorite because you’re battling over both armrests. Angry Birds is very addictive and a good way to pass the time on a long flight ✈️.

My husband really appreciates when the middle seat is empty because he’s 6’2”. I hate the bamboo cutlery. I didn’t get an ad this time. I did get a post video ad for a new Grease movie!

We don’t get to Europe often so most of our flights are on Southwest. My husband insists on having window seat and flights are always full so I’m stuck in the middle seat every damn flight.

Middle seat! Thanks! Entertaining and very helpful video. My husband is half Polish, but he's never been to Poland. We'll be flying from Paris to Los Angeles, and LOT has a reasonably priced flight with a stopover in Warsaw. Based on your recommendation (I'm a Delta Skymiles member and was seriously considering a known airline), I think we'll book on LOT. This way, my husband will get to say he's been in Poland! I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks again!

Once, I flew on a wide body plane. If memory serves, the configuration was 3-6-3 . There are lots of middle seats on that one.

As someone who is on a low-sodium diet due to high blood pressure (taking meds), I object to your comment about "who eats UNSALTED nuts?" Well, I do and find that the mixed nut flavors are not covered up by the salt. 🥰 I'm also not surprised that you found the LOT Airlines flights to be better than Delta. I abhor Delta airlines and won't fly them anymore (bet those who said LOT would be horrible probably work for Delta). Fly mostly on Southwest domestically, and we always try to keep the MIDDLE SEAT between us unoccupied. P.S. I also haven't flown to Europe either, but that's another story. Glad you had a good flight and am enjoying seeing your FB posts about the ship and the surprise guests you've met on Symphony!

I truly appreciate the airline review, seriously, I think Americans (me) worry about a non-US air carrier...MANY TIMES other foriegn carriers are cheaper however I just wonder 🤔. I'm going for it, I mean "trying" other/non US airlines, thank you again, I will read a few reviews though before I fly, lol.

In 2023 LOT was the most punctual European airline. The ones who claim it had delay either had a bad luck, or never flew it. If you're not looking for top luxury like in Emirates 1st class, LOT is one of the best airlines.

In December on our long-haul flight from Amsterdam to Detroit (part of very long journey getting from Bergen, Norway back home to Fort Lauderdale), Delta also used wooden utensils. We did not like them and my fork snapped while trying to cut my tough chicken. So glad though that at least my DH and I had an empty Middle Seat between us.

It’s great traveling on a plane when it isn’t full. You can get comfortable and spread out a bit, I hate when I get stuck in the middle seat.

I flew Baltic Air recently and it wasn't at all what I expected. Brand new plane, really comfortable, vegan options on the menu. I was really impressed. Although strangely for a small plane it had three seats on one side and two on the other which confused my sense of balance and gravity. No middle seat though as I was on the two seat side.

Morgan, Salt (sodium) causes high blood pressure in some. That’s probably why they don’t include salted nuts. Middle Seat

What a nice touch to have flowers in the restroom. I always got the middle seat on my long flights - no I Iet Hubby have the aisle or window whichever he wanted . That was a good bargain in the Airport. Looking forward to more videos from this trip. I know your not originally from Germany, do the employer’s give you vacation days like in England ( where they WANT you to be happy) lol In the US it seems like you had to go through hoops to obtain anything. Just curious. Anita in NJ

I have to fly LOT quite a bit as I live in Ukraine and the nearest international airport is in Poland. Just flew with them yesterday in economy and I had the "middle seat". Full flight so uncomfortable. Flying back to Poland next week and I've paid the extra for Premium Economy. Well worth it.

When I fly, I like to sit by the window. I don't know if I would like dimming windows. I think that might not be a good thing even if you're sitting in the middle seat.
