Hi friends! It’s been a year since I started the big yellow bus 😂 (leuchtturm 1917 sketchbook), so flip through it with me and go down memory lane. I hope you enjoy this brutally honest tour.
Part of me didn’t want to share it, but I want my channel to be as honest and transparent as possible. So here we go. Don’t judge me 😂

Your sketchbook is a welcome and refreshing glimpse into real art practice. Sketchbook work is not "bad" or "ugly" art. It is what it is - necessary experimentation and practice. What we learn from sketchbook work/exercise helps us develop as artists. Thank you for sharing your process!

Your work is super cool, you have such an awesome syle. Also I'm totally the same with not wanting to show some of my sketches. You're on the right path and unfortunately art is a lot of trail and error and thats what a sketchbook is for

I think your color choices are really creative and interesting in the best way. Monochromatic has its beauty but bold color choices come off as confident and brave in my opinion.

@@LucyFitzmaurice I just bought a heavy-weight, fine-toothed mixed media book from U.S Art Supply. I am not sure if they are the best brand or my favorite. They fit the budget though lol, and have been working well so far. Do you have a favorite or recommendation?

I love the mount lofty drawings, they look like mould art in Petri dishes, ypur berries are always so good, and I love the disc plants, fluffy sunflowers and green pansies so much😍

Also I’m from northern England so I pepper swear words through nearly every sentence , it helps with me being visibly disabled and having a vey disabled sounding voice, it suprise people and helps with not being infantilised, so I LOVE that flower, 10/20 would stick on my wheelchair 💜

But glad swearing doesn’t offend 😂 and you’re a fellow cusser 🤣 one of my main reasons I don’t swear more is that my grandma watches, so I try and keep it PG 😂😂 And the second I get me stickers I will figure out the shipping and get them straight to you!! ❤️

Thank you for your honest review! 🤍 I am planning to get one of them and I know they are not suitable for wet media, but I was wondering if they can handle brush pens like Ecoline and Tombow? I usually like use them as a baseline and go on top with colored pencils and other stuff.

Hi! So sorry for the late reply!! Have you gotten the notebook yet? I’d say it takes tombows beautifully the only issue is the bleeding on the back of the page. But I agree I like a little marker wash and then building colored pencils on top ❤️
