Just a note on the CGi, even though I'm a year late. The vast majority of the CG scenes were given to an understaffed group of artists and they were given 2 weeks to get it done. The VFX artists got screwed by scheduling and staffing, and they did an incredible job considering the impossible position they were placed in.

To be fair, this whole movie existed to criticize Wakanda's isolationism - the fact that they stayed out of the world and all its problems was something of a point made in the movie that was the thing that Wakanda was wrong about - that they had let their fear of the world discovering them and taking advantage of them become a long running excuse to stay away from all the injustice and wrong things happening - and T'Challa was learning that following tradition isn't always what's right, that Wakanda cannot just turn its back on the rest of the world like it had done all this time - the movie was T'Challa learning that this isolationism that Wakanda had wrapped itself in was wrong and they needed a more personal fight, a personal confrontation, to really drive home to T'Challa and to his family and people just what the consequences of that isolationism can not just do to the rest of the world but also to Wakanda itself. It wasn't just that T'Challa suddenly now decided to be a part of world, it was that he and the people of Wakanda had to learn why it is important to be a part of the world.

the cgi for the mcu tend to be sub par for the most part but black panther had some atrocoius cgi for a big budget highly anticipated movie

That was the only thing resembling a knock I have on this movie. I really wish they would have played more to the conflict between intervening in the worlds problems and trying to right the horrors going on. Vrs endangering the people you are responsible for keeping safe. I really think they could have done so much more with that narrative to lead that into a very interesting direction and moral conflict. For example, if you could kill hitler and save everyone he murdered but it would require sacrificing the lives of everyone you love type of thing. But no big, I thought this was a home run of a movie. I just think they missed out on makimg a grand slam home run of a movie.
