I am finally trying the ultra-hyped brand YoungLA! Many famous athletes wear this brand, and they have recently been stepping up their women’s wear, YoungLA for Her. You guys have been asking for me to try this brand for a long time, and here we are. I tried a bunch of different styles from different launches to get a good feel for the brand. Let me know what you guys think!

I really appreciate the fact that you continue to go through your dental practice and schooling to set a future career in stone, instead of relying on your social media earnings and “influencer” income. I think most would switch full time but you never know what the future holds and you are making the right decision by still continuing your dental career! Not to undermine your interest in dentistry in general but I wanted to point out that mindset. I’m proud of you ❤😊 Following for a few years now.

I'm crying at "HelloFresh desperate" 😂 I took a peek at the YoungLA website a month or so ago and was pretty unimpressed by everything. The logoing is giving cheap amazon brand (like Aurola). Also, having a size range stop at XL is a huge red flag for me- aside from the issue of not being inclusive, I feel like it's a big sign that stuff has been dropshipped/whitelabeled (or at least it's more likely). I got the same vibes and reverse image searched a lot and wasn’t able to find exact copies of anything. but the fabric does feel very similar to aliexpress! At least their earlier styles

i agree with your logic regarding not reviewing brands that are clearly duping alphalete. But to add, i actually really appreciate it because i have had several poor experiences with Alphalete. I’m still waiting for my package (1.5 mths). I also don’t support their vision with their athletes, i think they are too expensive, shipping is also too expensive and unreliable, so i really do need these alternatives because im looking to replace Alphalete, they don’t seem to be getting any better, at least for Australians

I finally tried Dfyne because of all the positive things I have heard on my group fitness pages. I must be missing something. Yes it was flattering in the back but I felt like it was not enough to justify the fabric used in the legs and the compression there. So sad. Wanted to love it. We will see what Kathryn thinks. Might temp me to size up one if she is a big fan.

Kathryn talking about delayed shipping as if Alphalete doesn’t do the same thing. Actually alphalete likes ghosting people when it comes to complaints. I do agree I want to see larger sizes with this brand. Also the designer for this brand designed amplify for alphalete so I don’t consider it a dupe if it’s your own design. Christian didn’t appreciate her so she went with a brand who did. That tells you all you need to know about alphalete

Interesting! I dont really like alphalete, made a couple purchases and find quality to price very disappointing with the exception of one or two things. Like id never pay full price for anything alphalete has done so to see youngla to have similar offerings at a lower price point could be good

@@kyeoptawerk93ah I don’t like alphalete either. Their amplifies were great back in the day but it’s cheaply made now so thin material and more expensive. They are not inclusive either. Young la has some cute things and I have heard good things from non affiliated people so you should definitely try them.

And I appreciate you sharing your thoughts! I get a different experience ordering directly vs receiving PR, so it’s helpful to hear other experiences. I know I have heard a lot of Alphalete shipping complaints and it’s something they should have figured out at this point. For youngla it seemed like they had almost forgotten my order was my point, I had to email them and it immediately went out. Just kinda strange!

I find youngla's core collection to be the perfect in between of alphalete and truly cheap amazon dupes, the amazon dupes do not last more than a few months on me but these definitely do, so if it's a cheaper amplify, I'll take it, plus their teal color is so gorgeous and a much much prettier teal than alphalete ever came up with despite their giant color selection so as a color freak I appreciate it. I like the curve collection too. I want more of both.

I hate to be negative but I didn't like anything from this collection. I think I'll stick to BuffBunny, KamoFitness and Popflex (their hoodies). But it was great seeing a review from a new brand.

I love your reviews!!! And had been hearing about this brand. I really wish brands would stop marketing lounge bralettes as bras. The first seamless “bra” back in the day was considered a lounge bralette. As a girl with a slightly bigger cup size this wouldn’t do squat for me as for support. the trend of calling everything sports bras is insane to me

Love your reviews as always! My brother followed an influencer that went from Alphalete to YoungLA so I bought him items for Christmas, I did look on the girl side but nothing interested me but he loves YoungLA now. (Side note: he never had shipping issues from alphalete like your experience but he did have customer service issues when it came to returning an item) but I also agree I don’t remember putting my number and now I constantly get restock txt messages for YoungLA and I finally opted out of it because it seemed so often. Glad to see nothing interests me still, I’ll stick to Buffbunny but thank you for your honesty and trust your opinion as always thank you!

Tha k you for reviewing them! I have a few of their crop tops and have purchased several of the men’s clothing for my oldest son. I personally like their crop tops, and my son likes their stuff. Haven’t tried their leggings or bras so thank you for reviewing a variety of those. Still on the fence about buying anything other than their tops for me, but all good info nevertheless.

I really like youngla recently because their waist band raise is mid - like right at my belly button. Now I feel like a lot of brands rise are sooo high and I don’t like how it feels super restrictive and not as flattering.

Thank you for the review and OMG YOUR HAIR😍 I stopped purchasing YLA because I learned their designer/major influencer has repeatedly made homophobic and misogynistic comments publicly via social media.. but YLA still supports the individual and features him in most of their campaigns. 😢 It breaks my heart because I do love their designs!!

Hey Kathryn! I love your videos and I was wondering if you could do a video for leggings that stay up for more of a full body cardio type workout! I’m colligate dancer, which I know you relate to, and I struggle to find leggings that I don’t have to adjust throughout practice. I was wondering if since you’re planning on getting back into dance, if you could do a video about some leggings (In a wide range of prices) for dance type, high movement workouts!

I just recently started browsing YoungLa and was considering trying them, and then here you come with another one of your awesome and honest reviews😍👏 Yes I think I'm still open to trying them, but for now will stick with my favourite/go to brands (alphalete, ptula, and been getting into buffbunny recently🔥) As others have mentioned youngla's designs are a little basic or seem like dupes; not to mention, I believe they launch every 2 weeks?? Personally that is a style I dislike as it just seems like a money grab (also aren't they a big brand/seemingly established..? Not sure why they would need that many launches) Thanks as always for the laughs and great review! 😁

I picked up that same jogger/swratshirt outfit in the brick color. At first I was sort disappointed by the material, but after wearing it a few times I now love it. It is perfect for travel bc of the zippered pockets and I never get too hot or cold in it. I'm really sad to hear about the homophobic comments though....makes me not want to buy from them.

I tried a bra by them & honestly found it to not be btc friendly even after sizing up. I almost feel like the brand caters to smaller girlies as all the models are small. I think with all the collections they keep dishing out, they need to focus on sizing options.

I own two items from YoungLA: a hoodie and a cropped long sleeve. The cropped too was cute and I like that it’s a bit of a longer crop, but it’s expensive for what it is. And the hoodie was too claustrophobic, despite ordering a size up, and so, I’m donating it to goodwill. I just think that will all the brands that are out there, like the ones on Amazon, are becoming more affordable and/or accessible, YoungLA isn’t worth it to me.

As someone 5'7 5'8 ish a "regular" inseam of like 31" for flares is def too short 😂 I have a pair of the first buffbunny foxy flares before they opened the leg and added lengths and those are too short for me. I've been thinking of youngla because it looks like a lower priced alphalete. I'm not an alphalete fan (I find price to quality doesn't match) so if the quality is similar to alphalete and it's cheaper I would consider. But I think some of the aesthetics are a bit ugly so that's why I've skipped even after seeing Ashley gaita's reviews of the brand

Both youngla and darc sport give me the icks. I find youngla especially odd though just because it feels like they have a lot of fake followers? I don't know. I can't believe real people woukd be that culty about them. The homophobic rant of their designer wasn't especially endearing either.

General question for anyone who would like to answer: any recommendations for underwear to use when wearing leggings? I’m Australian and I thought it was pronounced young-laaaaa 🤣🤣 it’s a strange name for a brand. Not going to lie but I don’t love the brand name. I get alibaba vibes from them and I can see why younger girlies love them but coming into my early 40’s I want a bit more support and thought into pieces. I also hate the front logo. Great review!

I don’t think I’ll be heading to the website anytime soon, just not wowed. these look fine, but I’m not floored by the colors or designs. I’m not seeing a lot of pockets and I like to be able to put keys and a phone in pockets for jogging or hiking or just walks.

Young LA’s complete non-response to the homophobic rant of one of their main representatives tells me all I need to know about this brand. I will never support them and honestly have no respect for anyone who continues to support them after knowing about that incident.

agree… i used to be a huge fan of this brand until i realized a lot of their athletes have very questionable morals. additionally, when their women’s brand first launched they used models of lots of different body types then they received hate for it by gymbros saying they’re “falling off just like gymshark” just because they included plus sized models. they completely stopped including anyone that is plus size since then.

Had never heard of Young LA before and, until I heard Kathryn say it, I thought she’d be reviewing a brand callled “Jung Lah.” And Young LA seems such a blah name in comparison. Also, who wants to be younger and in LA?!
