I know I should be able to stop and I know what I’m doing to my family but it’s not clicking for me no matter how much therapy or AA or NA and I felt for the longest time I’d just be dead soon enough that I could stop causing my family problems, stop letting my 3 year old see me in the wrong ways. But I have some hope, now. I don’t want to hurt my boy the same way your dad hurt you and I’m so sorry you had to experience that and I’m ashamed I’ve been following that path. I’ve flushed my stash, blocked all numbers for anyone related to my addictions and cut off all the people who ever enabled me. I’m starting a program this week for detox and then outpatient addiction and occupational therapy. I wish your dad hadn’t had been in so much pain, Av. You deserved to be loved and supported.
