I've got a Polo 1.0 TSI facelift with the 7 speed DSG. Love the car but hated the way the gearbox shifted before, in D it shifts way too early which can't be good for the drivetrain. Putting it in S made the car shift too aggressive for my liking. I remapped the DSG and LOVE the way the car shifts now. It shifts at around 2100/2200 RPM when driving normally, much better! I'm sad you can't tune the engine yet though, 95 hp is just not enough grunt. Luckily the car is great on fuel economy!

Good review, just traded my UP! GTI in on one of these as think at my age I can drop the extra speed in favour of a more luxurious ride. It’s the first Polo I’ve ever considered buying in over thirty years of driving as always hated the shape of them until this version appeared.

Absolutely spot on review Sam - you are definitely finding your feet at reviewing and being in front of the camera! It’s honestly so nice to watch your confidence growing with each review 😊 plus seeing all the hard work you’re putting into this pay off as the Chanel grows. I really love the purple shade on the face-lifted polo, there’s one near where I live and it really suits the colour - it’s so distinctive. I see you’ve not yet been tempted to the dark side of clutch-less motoring! 😂 I love my autos so don’t mind the lack of the manual,although I totally agree it’s odd VW don’t offer a manual with the higher output 1.0tsi, especially when Seat and Skoda do… I also think it’s a bit odd the R Line trim doesn’t have the iQ headlights, especially when they are standard on the cheaper style trim! I think the iQ headlights would really suit the R Line trim as I find they make the front end look slightly more menacing (although maybe that’s just me!) And btw people Sam’s right you need to check out the Carcode tiktok - if only to find out one thing about Sam!!! Honestly had me in stitches last week - made me realise how lucky I was on my driving test 😂

Great video, I think the Fabia is slightly nicer though. Especially as Monte Carlo gets lovely ‘racing’ seats
