It's a nightmare. I'm literally freezing in my house trying to set this useless thermostat. I wouldn't have bought this house if I'd known how unnecessarily difficult it would be to operate.

Does anyone know how to limit this thermostat to not go past a certain temperature example not go past 75 degrees because my dad keeps setting it to 80 degrees and it’s literally killing me told him just wear more clothes or use a blanket but he wants to crank it up and walk in shorts and a tank top

@@honeywellhome I called them but they said it’s not compatible. Does that sound right. It’s a 3 wire rogers and white zone valve. I just can’t get it to shut the zone off.

Hi Linda, Please see the following direction to access the time format. -Joey 1. Press and hold the up and down arrow until the screen changes. 2. You will see a large number 1 displayed on the left, press the up and down arrow at the same time to display the number 2 on the left. 3. The number on the right of the 2 is going to be your time format setting, You will want to change the number on the right to display 1 by tapping the up arrow, continue pressing the up and down arrow at the same time until the home screen displays, once complete the unit will show a 24-hour display.

The thermostat is configured as per default to recognize your system as a Gas or Oil Furnace, if you have a water heater system that works on electricity or an electrical boiler, there's a particular step in the configuration you need to go through: 1. On the back of the thermostat there's a switch you need to check that it's on ''electric'' and not Gas/Oil. 2. After you put the thermostat back on the wall, press and hold the Up and Down arrows for 4-5 seconds. 3. According to the numbers you see, let me know and I will tell you which is the right one for Water Heater / Boilers. Note: These thermostats are not compatible with series 20 or normally open zone valves in water systems. -Tony

The problem I’m having is that the ac stays on for 3min turns off for 1min for that min the heater blower turns on which in results in hot hair coming out, then the ac turns on again for 3 min the same thing over and over

Hi Nan C, thank you for contacting us. If you change the set point, the thermostat will change to a temporary Hold. If you press the Hold button you will only see 'Hold' on the screen and it will be a permanent hold. -Maria

First set the thermostat to heat/cool mode and select the desire temperature. Press the HOLD button right after selecting the temperature. If you do not want to use it you could set all the periods to the same temperature so it will not change during the day. Just performed that procedure and it WAS on 1 so I switched to 0 ! We will see what happens in the morning when it usually has been going into recovery mode about 2 hours before the heat is scheduled to come on. Thanks sooooo. much for the help Alex!. AWESOME customer service!@@honeywellhome

Wires I’d guess. Do you have a c wire or just battery function? I don’t really set times in mine besides Friday and the actual time I let it run 73 during the day. Then before bed 70 degrees

Hi Micah, for the RTH2300 to work on manual more we recommend to tap on the temperature arrows and as soon as you do press the hold button to set the device on hold (manual mode). -Ivan

Hi, the ambient (measured) temperature is normally displayed. To view the setpoint temperature, press the Up or Down button once. The set temperature will appear for five seconds. Hi Chris, thank you for contacting us. Press SET until Set Schedule is displayed, then press Up or Down to set your weekday Wake time (Mo-Fr), then press SET. Press Up or Down to set the temperature for this time period, then press SET. Set time and temperature for the next time period (Leave). Repeat steps for each weekday time period. Press SET to set weekend time periods (Sa & Su), then press RUN to save & exit. -Maria
