Bought one back in September just loaded it with emulators and ps2 GameCube and Dreamcast games using a backbone controller runs beautifully

I just got this as a temporary phone because my Samsung s21 battery had swollen and become a fire hazard.. had to dispose of it through my college. It's a decent phone, can definitely feel the downgrade. I'm happy about having an aux port again, and the screen is comfortable to hold in my hand. The shape and colour is also very nice. The downsides I would say are the fingerprint sensor being a bit bad, sometimes not recognising my fingerprint or unlocking the phone by mistake, there only being one area the sound comes out of and the quality being fairly bad, and the screen recording audio being really bad too. Alongside the camera quality not being what I'm used to, but I can't complain as it is around £600-700 cheaper than what my s21 cost when it came out. It's very good for a temporary phone, or a phone that you don't rely on in everyday life. I only got it yesterday and I am looking forward to experiencing a new type of phone (having used only blackberry and Samsung phones previously)

Thanks for the review. I am being forced to change due to the 3G switch off and my elephone p9000 despite being 4g always changes to 3g for calls. If I block 3g it doesn't make calls. Is really frustrating with no clear naming policy and versions of phones eg samsung a14 which can be 4g or 5g apparently depending on submodel/price

Grumpy middle-aged geezer here. i hate all this 're-new your phone regularly' nonsense. But that's the position i'm in.....again. I know if you want the latest greatest....you know where to go, but have been advised to look at the 'mid-range' area for smartphone and saw a review for this and thought it 'more my speed' since i don't stream or need live sport or endless music/movie/photo storage etc. This was a really helpful review and i might pursue buying one......if you hadn't mentioned the Nokia, so i'm off to check that one out first.

You sound like you could be my twin - can I ask what you went for in the end and whether you'd recommend? My needs and wants look to echo yours and every time I think I may have decided, I read something negative etc. Ideally I'd also wish to not be carrying a great (large) slab of tech around, but screen size does seem to be 'king' these days (and I can't go totally 'dumb' as I guess I'm finally going to have to succumb to WhatsApp to keep in touch with certain peeps). Oh for the simpler life....(grumpy git rant begins......). Cheers.

Phone is great but settings for volume control are confusing. Can't separate media and ringing!!

A lot of good budget phones around now,I keep seeing good reviews of the Moto G13,which oddly most reviewers seem to prefer to the higher spec G23 . Currently only £129 at Argos,I've seen used ones on eBay for £70. I'm not overly convinced that there's much need for budget 5G phones,I've got one currently as a light user like yourself when I can actually get it,coverage still isn't great, for browsing etc there's not much difference.

I picked up a G13 on eBay for about £75. Will be doing a comparison type video with that one. I'm not overly fussed about having 5g, but its nice to have, and given you can get it on a budget is nice too

I appreciate your reviews. I need to replace a broken phone. Are you able to you help me? And suggest which you think is the better option out of the following phones; Honor 70 lite, Motorola G53, the Motorola G32, Motorola G23 and the Galaxy a13. if not no worries. Just trying to save time and my mind from watching too many reviews.All the best

So out of these you’ve mentioned, I’ve used the 70 Lite, G32 and A13. Out of those, I preferred the G32, I really liked using that phone and you can get it at a great price. The G53 and G23 have the advantage of being a bit newer and likely having slightly better performance. I’ve just picked up an even newer Motorola G54 for a good price so will be reviewing that soon. But that’s my take on your list, hope that helps 😂

Just got this and have immediately sent it back. In comparison to my pixel 4a the audio reproduction from the loudspeakers is really bad (hollow and tinny). Also found the front camera to also be really bad quality

There's no way this would ever be better than a Pixel 4a apart from battery life. Loved the camera on that phone, and in general I loved using it!

Hi would this phone have enough good storage for me to do weekly dance videos and reels for fb and insta? need a phone soon and on a budget. I dont do any games or live streams just little vids and photos. all editing i do on my desk top. thanks
