I had a Fold 5 and I sold it to get the Magic V2. Far superior product. Better screens (size and quality), better cameras, better battery life, thinner, lighter. Software is OK for me, absolutely no problem. The only thing I miss is the wireless charging but it’s not a deal breaker for me (it may be for you). Really great device. Got the 512GB version for a very good price. FNAC in Switzerland had a great offer at CHF1250 for their “members”. At the end of the day, I love it and that’s it.

The software is good enough for me too, the hardware is just too good. I think with some time maybe honor can improve the software

I'm the opposite. The more I used the V2 the more it annoyed me. Resizing of apps is quite frankly a joke, cutting heads off FaceBook, not giving the corrcet viewing for on-line newspapers, instead just stretching the front screen version to the centre screens and a whole lot more besides. The phone is really bad with Android Auto too - constantly reconnecting and losing Waze for example. Fortunaly, I kepy my Fold V so I can compare side by side having both phones. That's when youi see just how bad and lacking the software is. It's a big let down because the feel of the V2 is so good and makes my Fold V look like a clumsy out of date device. But like having a Porsche with a Hyundai engine inside, it's no good having a beautiful exterior with an inferior engine and until and if Honor can address the issue it will never win big numbers. I'll trade in my Fold V for the VI and get rid of the V2 unless Honor perform some sort of miracle, but I'm confident they wont do it quick enough. They can't even offer Android 14 when it's been out for months.

I've already shared my opinion in other comments. I really like the Magic V2 despite its software issues. The balance is such that the positives still outweigh the negatives. But I absolutely understand everyone's viewpoint. That's what makes having options so great 😀

Bought it in UK with Three which is offering £500 off the phone with any trade in. Three is selling it at £1238 - 500-250(for iPhone 13pro) so really happy for the price that I paid it

I agree, got a V2 2 months ago. Great phone. Worth it. It's sold at 1,399 now bundled with a gift that I immediately resold new at 250.

Software is very important to me.. fold 5 just got the ui 6.1 update and its a real difference maker ... just my thoughts

I agree with you, my opinion 1100 - 1 300 eur is for me OK, 1999 eur with - launch 200 discount in my country is still too much ! . I agree with you as well with udpates i have Honor magic 5 pro 512 gb for 700 eur after discount and that was good bargain but now is for 999 e . Weird price politics they have . Porsche v2 is as well good joke with price.

In my opinion the no 1 reason to purchase this phone is to enjoy and adore the thinnest & lightest foldable in the world, I believe Magic V2 will hold this record for many years to come. Also once we decide to get into foldable phone segments, money shouldn't be the issue. I guess people willing to pay a lot for a phone if they can make it 12 inch and foldable into a pocket size. That's my view, thank you.

Best phone in foldable category .... There are always cons of any phone ... I bought it from Dubai it cost me around 1500 pounds plus got gs3 watch free worth 200 pounds bose headphones around 150 pounds 2 yrs screen replacement warranty which no other companies never give 2 yrs battery replacement warranty which again no company gives over to that 100 pounds cash discount.. plus vip service support etc.. I agree with ur valid points but thr is always room to grow n if u see other foldable none of them is perfect... But at the end of the day what u need a handy phone which cn be used as daily driver n u know it's much more easy to use then even iPhone or Samsung s24 ultra those bulky shit phones, battery it has amazing battery fast charging decent camera much better than many phones... 8 gen 2 or 3 doesnt matter to normal users until n unless u r a heavy gamer or do throttling etc... I guess for any users who is using fold phone is form factor if u cnt use it normal phone then thr is no point of keeping it . Apart from one plus open fold none of the foldable is usable they are heavy chunky bulky with average battery life n many cons in that... Only one plus open n honor magic v2 can tick the most boxes...

It's just an exciting phone, and it amazes me every time I pick it up. I'm still awestruck by how they managed to make it not so thin and light. I love tech and innovations; perhaps that's why I don't care as much about the negatives, but I tried to provide an objective and balanced view for everyone interested in buying it.

After using Magic V2 for7 months, the only issue I found was it does not support Android Auto even though I've upgraded to latest Magic OS 8.0 (Android 14). Thanks

@@JMTMarc I managed to install Android Auto Via Google Play Store, but it throw out communication error 22 when connecting to the car, according to Google we do not need to manually install Android Auto (as user app), instead it should come with the OS as system app. Hopefully Honor is able to pack the Android Auto in the next Magic OS patch. Thank you

You are right. I use Android Auto in all my vehicles and the V2 crashes, locks up and drives me nuts. So much so it's in the drawer not being used. Back to the Sammy Fold 5 unfortunately

@@K22MDL Hopefully the future patch upgrade will come with it. The only way to verify, go to Setting /Apps / Android Auto, if you see Uninstall button that's mean user app. We want it to be system app where you can't uninstall. Fingers cross buddy. Thanks

In my country (Philippines) its the same price or even cheaper. I dont know why but my main suspect is high markups on local distributors. iPhone 15 pro max 256gb 85,000.00 PHP = 1,520.00 USD Honor Magic V2 512gb 80,000.00 PHP = 1,430.00 USD So your #1 problem with this is negligible to me

The international version of the Magic V2 has eSIM Support.

I like very much my Honor V2, but it's overpriced at £1700/€2000. Hardware is amazing, software need to be polished, but best foldable at the moment for me 😊

I agree! It's too expensive at retail price. I believe most buyers will secure some kind of deal; it's unlikely they'll continue to sell it at full retail in the future.

Now that the 'early bird' discounts and freebies have ended in the UK, they're offering a £500 discount 'voucher' bring it down to £1200. I'm not sure why the Chinese brands play this game. You'd think they'd be better off just setting a better price in the first place. Three in the UK are offering it for £1250 or a bit less on a contract, with £500 trade in for any old phone. Quite a few of us have bought it like that and then canceled the contract within 14 days. Keeping the phone as it was paid outright. That made mine less than £750 with the free headphones.
