Just saw her story.. Makayla and a friend of hers were involved in a car accident back in April of 2021. Her friend died on the scene and Makayla was in the hospital for two days before she was declared brain dead. Glad she saved lives

This is why I'm a organ donor. When I pass if people can use my organ's and I can help anyone, than I couldn't ask for more. I have been a organ donor since I got my license. No hesitation. I do not know what circumstances led you to be an organ donor so for that, I am so sorry that you life was cut way, way too short. You were such a beautiful young woman & this might sound kind of odd but you look so much like my daughter Angela. Looking at the photo of you with your beautiful, thick, long, dark brown curly hair & your smile that was so infectious that nobody could resist smiling back at you makes me think of my daughter right now. Just the mere thought of losing my daughter is soul crushing as I am sure it was for your parents, family & friends. I am listed as an organ donor via my Drivers License, my Will & both my daughters are as well. I hope that people will take notice how much organ donations can & will save lives by giving someone a second chance at life whereas it would not be possible otherwise. Being an organ donor is the most selfless act a person can do. My husband passed away due to Congestive Heart Failure 7 1/2 years ago. When it became clear that he was not going to make it he made me promise to make him a donor. I promised him that I would and I honored his wishes. I wish all donors had an honor walk because they are true heroes. My daughter, son, and I have all registered to be organ donors. Bless this young lady for being selfless. I am a great believer that everyone should be an organ donor. The system needs to be set up that anyone 18 and over should automatically be a donor and need to OPT OUT instead of having to sign up for it. Imagine the amount of lives that would be saved/changed this way
