North Pier never fails to deliver.... If I'm looking for a big pull its my go to spot. On this day things were very slow, So I decided to put out a live bait and spin with my ultra light rod. Some time went by and I ended up meeting a good friend. We fished a bit, shared some stories and before I knew it the live bait was taken and I was TIGHT. The first run was rapid and I knew this was no flatfish. I had to lock up and pull this fish as hard as I could or risk being cutoff by passing boats. After a back breaker of a fight a lovely grey shark appeared from the depths. Hope you enjoy the video.

Respect my boet. Well done. That was a hell of a fight. I grew up as a boy fishing that same spot 1966 to 1974. There was an old indian gentleman named Uncle Jimmy who was there every day. He taught me how to fish.... and how to eat fish curry!!!

For the record, you did land it .If a fish can be brought to gaffing distance, which you could have if you wanted to, then it's yours. The fact that we don't gaff and kill everything ( some are tasty ! ) is where the sport is . Good fishing, well done.

When I was kid living in Durban in the seventies a friends father caught a five maybe six ft shark off Addington beach even with nets in place

Try some non ed fishing on Durban piers or just fish Durban piers because they produce some good fish

I have been thinking of trying to catch some caranteen for livebait and keep them in a dustbin with a pump overnight for the next morning. How do you get a transnet permit to catch livebait . Enjoy your videos.

Magic. You guys do two things properly. Fishing and camera. If you tried to land the shark that fish would be injured guaranteed

You obviously not a big shark Fisherman, but that is a fairly easy land for a shark even though it's a drop off. NICE fight

Well done Bro. I was right there. There was no way you were landing that shark on those rocks without harming it or putting yourself or myself in danger of falling in. The fact that you brought it above that reef to the surface is absolutely EPIC in itself!!!
