Hooks are the new addition in React 16.8.0 that makes Functional components quiet powerful. Now Functional Components can do pretty much everything which a Class Component can do.
Functional components can now have states and life cycle method with the help of Hooks.
Let's learn in detail about Hooks in this video . This video will give you a strong understanding about the hooks foundation.
With React Version 16.8.0, Functional Components are enough capable of handling everything which a class component can do but still I will suggest you to understand Class Component as this concept is not removed from React and still using in many project and of-course it is still one of the asked question during React Interviews
