Not 100% accurate, I've seen very rich people with either no taste and no respect for originality. They bathe in money but all they can think about is buying like 3 Mercedes gl65 amgs with huge gangsta wheels and they felt like tops.

The odd thing is the that Alpina removed the S62 M5 engine that powered the Z8 and slapped in a less edgy M62 with an auto. They went the other way and made it a cruiser. Id rather have the Z8 with the factory equipped M5 motor than the Alpina. I am taking a guess but I wager that regular Z8 commands a premium these days over the Alpina version!

There were around 5000 standard z8s and only around 500 Alpinas made. After a quick Google search it looks like on average the Alpinas command about a $50000 dollar premium over the standard z8.

A small correction needed: the CSL Batmobile is a Group 4,. The Group A era was from 1986 on and more stock looking.

A-maze-ING! That's a lotta neat machinery there. Did you know: the Alpina Z8 was detuned by something like 50hp and only produced with an automatic transmission (whereas the standard BMW Z8 had a manual). And what was up with the e28 Alpina on the tow truck?! good stuff...

it's not just detuned it has a whole different engine, the Z8 has the S62 "M5-engine" whereas the Alpina has a tuned "Standard V8" M62 engine.

All his talk about original CSL group A DTM is utter rubbish just to throw words around. And his talking about all original parts is also just blabla. With this body it should be a Group 5 CSL, which would make the engine wrong, because instead of that 12V M30 there should be a 24V M49 in it. And don't get me started about the wheels - everybody nowadays gets their car on centerlocks and they aren't able to source centerlocks for their "super all original parts car"? Seriously? And that's the two most obvious things. I wouldn't mind and even loved it (minus the wheels) it if he just said "that's a cool car of a customer who loves to race it as a tribute car" but all that namedropping and fake provenance ist just unprofessional.
