The most special machine, to bring out for a celebration on the most special day!
Florence returns after a very long time of inactiveness, having needed a new door seal and new wheels too (maybe this wasn't the best idea haha). I could not go without bringing her in, after bringing out the Zanussi TL previously. She runs on a boilwash, with a load of towels, with her favourite vintage combination of Persil and Comfort.
She is of course, very lively as can be expected from a Hoover, but the new wheels are very free rolling so, they aid in easy moving of her. Plenty more to come so, stay tuned!

Always like watching this Hoover A3060. Reminds me of 1978/9/80/1 when in school in the Domestic Science room, we had an Electra but made by Hoover, machine. It made exactly the same timer sounds as this one does, and thinking was NOT allowed come the full spins, it was that loud. It didn't spin at 1100 rpm however. And it could go unbalanced when it felt like it.

Many years ago, when this 1,100 rpm class of Hoover machines were still being manufactured, I had a friend who worked for John Lewis and I recall her commenting that they had a room full of returned machines with twisted cabinets resulting from uncontained, unbalanced spins. My parents had a 1,000 rpm spin Hotpoint 1848 which, in comparison, wasn't seemingly prone to such events and gave 21 years of, almost, trouble free service. I'd love to see one of those, complete with shades of blue controls, in action.

It is nice to see the A3060 again who thought when these machines were made that a couple of them would still be going to this Stone Age of 2024

And there's more than a couple going strong today for sure. There's at least 5 including mine, that I know of in preservation right now, as well as probably a handful still going in some elderly person's home :)

I sure wish I could get PERSIL POWDER here in my grocery stores in ILLINOIS. So far only liquids and pods.

Fun fact. The Persil marketed in the UK is made by Unilever and not the same as the original from Henkel in most other countries.

@@GurminderSingh-cx6pd No, as Barbara is no longer coming in because she causes too much damage to the units and it's a risk incase she gets broken during moving her. She already came in a few weeks ago, so she won't be coming again

All you need now is a hoover from the 90s in your house then you've had one from every decade in your house would the be a model from the 90s you would have

Only a New Wave. But sadly the exact one I want is now literally impossible to ever find, particularly in the colour I want. So, sadly a 90s Hoover is likely to never exist here

My great grandparents had a hoover softwave years ago I remember seeing it in there kitchen in like 2004 then a hotpoint wma58 was put there
