Lots of cars have decorative pedal covers. You just aren’t aware of them because they don’t fall off. The tell that Tesla has doofus engineering is that it was deisgned to taper so it could wrap around the pedal and slide on and no one though to mold in a plastic or metal snap catch so the thing could not slide right back off. They used glue. On something subjected to shear stresses from your rubber soled shoes.

All those sharp edges would be a big red flag for me. It isn't that difficult to get rid of that sharp edge, I honestly don't know why they didn't sand down those edges to protect their customers other than lack of quality standards. And stainless steel isn't actually stainless, it's just more resistant to rusting. So you should probably not drive it in the rain, put it through a car wash, or leave it anywhere near a large water source (especially if that source is saltwater).

Ironically, most full-size, top-trim ICE trucks have a video screen/camera in the rear view mirror. They don't need it, but they have it. The cybertruck needs it, but instead of adding this cool piece of tech in an obvious place where people could use it, they put the rear view camera image on the center screen...with the 482 other things that all have to go through that screen. Stupid decision.

Elon Musk is a snake oil salesman. In order to get gullible fools to buy this POS he had to change the definition of "truck". How do you get type approval with all those corners and hard thin edges, they are not pedestrian friendly given the level of litigation you get in the USA. Also note that just because it’s made of stainless steel it does not mean that it cannot rust, just like cutlery and sinks etc, if you have surface contamination on it long enough the chromium oxide passive layer breaks down and hey presto … rust. Leave it dirty or contaminated long enough an the metal crystals in the surface will fall out leaving pitting on the surface.
