As messenger and translator for Hopi elders since 1948, Thomas Banyacya, Sr. (1909-1999) traversed the globe trying to help people understand the warnings revealed in the Hopi Prophecy. In November 1995, the Sacred Land Film Project followed Thomas to the Whole Life Expo in Las Vegas where he made two hour-long presentations over two days. Here is Part 2 of 2.

Background: Two events caused Hopi elders to call an unprecedented meeting in 1948: 1) the U.S. government’s creation of the Indian Claims Commission, designed to extinguish aboriginal title to land held by Native Americans by paying them money for lands “taken” but not affirming title to land or returning lands taken, and 2) the “gourd full of ashes” raining fire from the sky in the form of atom bombs dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These two events confirmed prophecies held by individual Hopi clans and when the elders met to discuss the meaning of these alarming developments, they selected four young Hopi men to serve as translators, interpreters and messengers to carry a warning to the outside world. The inventions and writings of the white man, aka "bahana" in Hopi, were now in such extreme violation of natural law and the instructions of the Great Spirit that Western technological/industrial society threatened all of humanity with the same apocalyptic fate that has met three previous worlds. Thomas Banyacya, Sr. was one of the messengers chosen to deliver the warnings and the positive call to action embedded in the Hopi Prophecy.

Concerning the cross within a circle, as a Pagan descended from the Germanic, Celtic and Iberian tribes of Europe, I can shed light on this. Before we were converted, we had our own spiritual worldview and faith which lived in balance with Nature, i.e. it was animistic. Many similar features with other Indigenous/tribal faiths worldwide, including those of this continent Turtle Island. This includes our own spiritual symbols. These included various cross symbols which were solar symbols. When the Christians came from the Middle East and converted us through their taking over the Roman Empire's institutions, to convert our tribal ancestors they co-opted our symbols and traditions, demonizing our gods and goddesses, and giving us this mind virus that ultimately turned some of our nations into cannon fodder for spreading their religion into other regions of the world (for ours being tribal we respected that of other tribes and weren't universalist). Only later did the cross become the symbol of Christianity, as archaeological and literary evidence from early Christian history shows other symbols were used by the new religion. The Celtic Cross (actually depicted on the Hopi petroglyph near Oraibi, Arizona) was a sacred symbol of the Celtic people, whereas what appears the four-pointed symbol within a circle was a Germanic solar symbol. The Medicine Wheel common among many Native Americans, was similar to the Germanic Helm of Awe with its representations of not just the cardinal directions but all the realms of our ancient cosmology. We held to a cyclical understanding of time and life's cycles, so the circle was so important to us that our native European homes were constructed as circles, we constructed stone circles, etc.. The ancient Hopi elders who made this prediction (interpreted by the late Thomas Banyacya) were aware of our native symbols, but likewise that a danger was looming from elsewhere in the form of Christianity with its universal savior and salvationist dogma, and Abrahamism in general. If it was not within the balance of the circle, i.e. symbolic of both our Animism and our Tribal ways generally, then it would mean some of our Europeans who would come to the lands of the Hopi would be the ones who had lost their way and identity to the new religion. And that they would spread this religion and their unbalanced ways just as their own ancestors had earlier been subjugated.

When you look at a cross, we ALL know what it represents. Jesus Christ, dying on the cross for humanity’s sin. You can try to spin it, but Yeshua’s truth, can never be hidden or forgotten. Paganism might be dancing around May poles, but it’s dead, and has zero resurrection power. Archeology in Israel has already shown the time period of the symbol, which looked more like an X than a cross. It had to be covert due to early Christians being killed for their beliefs. Christ is the only Holy person talked about before He was born and after His death. Ancient Chinese astronomer talked about Christ before they ever heard of Him, and three days later, writing about His ascension. The Bible is the Love letter to humanity, if read it, the Holy Spirit would reveal everything.

@@petrazalazar2649 How would you explain the Protestant fanatics of the British colonies and the Protestant-founded Manifest Destiny? Just as much if not even more bloodthirsty and genocidal than the Catholics. More indigenous people can be found surviving today in areas that Spanish and Portuguese Catholics took than Protestant colonies. Not to deny the genocides that did occur though, just to put it in perspective vis a vis other forms of Christianity.

@@petrazalazar2649 You seem like a very rational and sincere woman. So I'm curious how you'd explain the verses where Jesus said he came with the sword and divide families (Matthew 10:34-35)? Such were the actions of the various settlers and colonists who considered themselves Christian, no matter the sect. The spread of Christianity all around the world is one of violence and coercion, just like that of Islam or later political ideologies. That being said, I should stress that individual Christians can be much better than this historical record or what the Bible actually says. But I would say its because of the Natural Law that is innate to us as human beings, its part of our nature to be good and humane.

I hear your message. We are told to defend the oppressed yet how do we go about helping? What do you need? Money? A voice? I feel your pain, long suffering, patience and kindness. Many of us are waking up and realizing we are caught up in a net (internet, Netflix power grid etc). I honor your message and it needs to be taken seriously. This tells me that contrary to what we have been taught. Jesus didn't have to die on the cross ,, it was a choice . And we chose to murder him. He came so we could be forgiven ,and we are . Thanks be to God . We chose to allow him to be tortured and killed on the cross . We could have followed his teachings back then and come together, completing the sacred circle and carried peace across our earth .. we choose the cross , we choose death .. the choice even now is in your hands ,each and every one of you , in my hands as well.. A meaningful message. But this is just you. And it should be known that me and you are the same people. Yet we are living and breathing ourselves in our own church. The circle is never separate from its inner to its outer. All are connected and good, even the bad. Judge not and live the best you can provide good where it can be seen and heard. You produce a good message and seek to give understanding. Being in understanding does not make one above another, and so we cannot dictate one for another. Reasonably well it is unlikely that your message is understood, but it is meaningful none the less. Quite like me, you are seeking for higher quality attention than is the most normal. A hard road, yet a gentle peace. The darker the valleys the brighter the peaks.. continue striving for excellence in goodness and grace friend.

I live and am a Kanaka Maoli on the Hawaiian Islands. There was a man named Floyd Springer, an ex-lawyer for the U.S. Congress and he talked about the Hopi people, that they were very spiritual people of the lands on the great continent. He also talked about the Hopi prophecy and always wanted to hear the prophecy from the Hopi elders. In all his life he was never hospitalized for anything. This past week he has been hospitalized twice. I drove two hours and was not able to see him because ot was after visiting hours. @John Rice What this means is that those who came back to this continent were ones who had lost their own tribal ways and no longer lived in balance with Nature. Because our own Native European pre-Christian symbols included the cross and various other solar symbols and those representing the different directions and realms, examples being the Helm of Awe and the Celtic Cross. Only later did the Christians adopt the Cross as their own when they were trying to convert our ancestors. The key difference is that the cross was no longer within the circle, i.e. no longer our actual tribal-spiritual worldview that was animistic and lived in balance. Most of us lost our way, falling from our own folk traditions, although a growing number of us are returning now.

@@yahya2925 No, the "white brother" mentioned in these predictions are those who hold to their actual tribal ways, living an animistic life in balance, recognizing their Earth Mother such as we European Pagans had before our conversion to Christianity. NOT Abrahamism in ANY of its forms, certainly not your Islam.
