Hi Cathal. The Duffey/Duffy tombstone is styled after the Duff family crest. You can see it if you google the coat of arms for Alexander Duff, the Duke of Fife (married Edward VII's oldest daughter).

Cathal, an incredible chapel. Aren't you afraid you will get poo all over you from the pigeons? They have quite a roost going on up there in the rafters! Loved that special stone with the slightly peculiar crucifixion. You are correct ... most of us would have missed it. Lovely graveyard and very, very well kept. Good on the community there. Thanks again for reading those stones! Hope your well and being loved! ♥️🙏😘

It really trips me out thinking about what these folks lives were really about, how they lived and passed away. Thank you again, OT. My grandchildren call me OT which stands for “old timer.” LOL!

Not sure about Ireland but religious budlings are usually tax-exempt. That is, of course unless the buildings have been sold to a non-religious body. Different countries have some unusual tax-loopholes though, so, who knows?

I wonder if the Duffey crest will show the two people with Batons or such. He could have been a magistrate? or law officer of some sort? But a stunning piece of stone masonry. I read the cherubs faces are a depiction of the deceased face. Like a caricature sort of what they resembled with hairstyle and face shape.

Where here in American government taxes practically everything 😡 but thank goodness they don't tax the roof. 😮😮
@carolineslater17314 ай бұрын
In medieval times they even taxed windows. The more windows you had the more tax you paid. The rich and noble removed the glass and bricked up to avoid paying it. It's true!

This does make me wonder what a preacher would have sounded like back then. I envision screaming and telling everyone they're going to hell which was the typical Sunday message in America for decades and a few around us still follow that type preaching and church leadership. I'm a pro wrestler so it goes without saying that a lot of preachers don't approve of me. But I've lived a life with more purity than anyone I know, most pastors included. But they don't approve of me wearing swimwear and boots when I fight and more and more I can see that it is too suggestive. But I digress, really interesting visit to that grave yard. Stay safe.
@GraveVisitations5 ай бұрын
I love wrestling and also UFC 🔥
@pattijacksonpattipowerswrestle5 ай бұрын
I've boxed a few times and due to my stubborness I've been in more fistfights that I care to mention. I fought in a tough woman competition once and we fought in a MMA cage. But I'm a decent wrestler but I am also a large woman (5' 9") and I weigh just over 200 pounds. I'm too slow to be really good at MMA. Several years ago I could fight women both in MMA, fist fights and boxing. Now though the women are on a whole different level and way out of my class. So now I stick to wrestling. And I'm sure preachers back then could scream at me to leave their churches. It was one of the more intersting videos, but I love the ones you guys put up with the coffins and sometimes remains visible. We don't have things even close to that in America that I know of. Stay safe.
